I just did this mod , it is actually easier if you remove the mirrors. It gives you more clearance to push the factory windscreen down to clear the hooks that are holding it in place 👍
I can only imagine. I've seen videos of folks who have taken the entire front face just to replace the windscreen. I kept telling myself that there is NO way I have to take all of that off just to replace the windscreen. You very welcome and I am SO happy this was able to help you out!
@@SazonMoto gotta admit man, had a little bit of trouble getting those tabs to release, and had to rewatch your video for reassurance that I wasn't going to break anything...but thanks again boss.
It’s an amazing bike. They first thing your gonna want to do is get rid of that huge catalytic converter which is huge and heavy and add a mod pipe system. The sound is amazing
@@SazonMoto bruh check my IG, I already have like $5K in mods already in the first 2 weeks of owning it. Only thing I'm waiting on is the Lightech chain adjusters to be available. @cali.r1
@@SazonMoto thanks.. my first time using IG. I'll post better pics and the other mods I've added. I agree, the link pipe makes the bike so much more fun to ride.
Cali Made I will add you on to my IG. How are you liking the Akrapovic? I almost go that one but decided to do something different all the the Akrapovic looks beast
Mirrors didn’t need to come off at all. You have to push the windscreen towards the headlights because it has like an L shape plastic latch to remove the OEM. Hopefully this helps
I almost got that same bike changed my mind at the last moment. Had them order that color bout parts had the loan and everything then I set on the 2020 gsxr.
The height on the r1 was taller then my 13 r1 and it had me more hunched over. My 17 zx10r was almost the same way. When I set on the 20 r1 I was on my tippy toes. I was still gonna get it ordered some lowering links and did reviews on why I shouldn’t lower a bike and decided against it. I went and set on the gsxr and it was a instant difference. Everything is more comfortable to where I can ride way longer without the lower back getting tired. Plus the 20 gsxr ain’t no joke. Low and mid range (haven’t really played with the top) was better then my zx10. I still gotta get exhaust and tune. But the r1 is still my fave. The new r1 look actually just grew on me...well it’s still growing on me.
@@Kc2Heatz Makes sense. It's all about preference for sure because everyone is different. I find this bike more comfortable then the 2016 BMW S1000RR I used to have
Kenny Thomas man the r1 is a strange case. I’m 6’4 but I feel like the seat is so wide it negates some of my height. I can flat foot but still. How do you like the GSXR.
Mrjaycam oh yeah! Plus the R1 is truly a small bike. I’ve had the 04 GSXR 600 replaced it with the 06 GSXR 1000 after that was stolen I went and got the 06 CBR1000RR that one was also stolen in 2012 and 2016 decided to get back on 2 wheels and got the BMW S1000RR which was a beast of a bike and now the R1 which they seating is wide however, it feels like a lot like the CBR1000RR which I loved so it’s the closest thing. If I had to number the bikes I would say the BMW number fallowed by the R1. I miss the heated grips and cruise control from the BMW not to mention the quick shifting and auto blip felt smoother on the BMW
Anytime. I thought originally that I had to take the hole front end off to install the windscreen. Check out my K&N filter install video if your looking to upgrade that yourself. It will save you from going through the headache I went through.
I actually had this installed today. Unfortunately there is only a stock custom map at the moment from what the shop told me. They will contact me when they have an updated one.
I’m wondering if I had to remove the fairing on the 18’ now. I talk about it in my video on Wednesday. If not I’m going to be feeling like an idiot lol. I subbed also. Good vid man. I can’t wait to ride a 20
I saw a while ago where a guy took his entire from fairing to remove the windscreen. I was like nahhhh. There’s no way you have to do all of that for a windscreen. Hope that wasn’t you because that was a ton of work
Thanks for the video!!!! unscrewing the mirrors is the key for everything to loosen up and be able to push the screen forward and take out it out.

Good to know. I watched someone did this same install and took off the entire front end for it 🤦🏽♂️
Just installed mine on my 2021 Raven. You have no idea how helpful this was....thank you sir.🤘

Was there space on the sides or was it completely flush? Do mirrors have to be completely off to install the new one, of just to take the old one off?

Bro what's the color of the screen?
I wonder if "Dark smoke" and "Black" exist individually.
It’s dark smoke. You can barely see out of it though.
Holy shit I thought I had to rip off the whole front end to do this so I’ve been putting it off!!
That's what I thought initially. I'm was so relieved to see that I didn't have to take a bunch of plastics off
Also I seem to always get puig for some reason. I was gonna get zero gravity for the gsxr but they were sold out so still end up with puig.
This is my first purchase and I had my eye on both but Puig came out first so I jumped on it.
I almost got that same bike changed my mind at the last moment. Had them order that color bout parts had the loan and everything then I set on the 2020 gsxr.
What made the deciding factor to go with GSXR?
