Those two really are the best. 7 was awesome as well. Much better than Tidus complaining about his dad all the time in 10. Never played anything past that one. Hope they got better.
FF4 was my gateway JRPG drug back during the SNES days when it was still called FF2, and Rydia was one of the reasons why. Just like you said, everything about her from her character design to her character theme to her personal journey was riveting. She might also be the reason why I'm more drawn to black mage/summoner types in games. Your music work captures her theme from the original perfectly while breathing new life into it. Amazing work and thank you for sharing!
Aw man, Rydia was my favorite character from the pre-FFX games, bar none. I guess she still is, for the reasons you mentioned. Her theme is right up there with Aerith's in that it tells you everything you need to know about the character just from the instrument choices and the melody, and done so perfectly tailored to the characters that has not since been equaled (although FFX came close with a few bits). And your recompositions on both themes absolutely nailed them both. I figure you're probably proud as all heck about them, and I'm gonna say you have every right to be. Amazing work!
FF4 was my firts J-Rpg back in the day, so everything related to it feels so nostalgic to me. Thanks for giving love to that game with this amazing and peacefully remix!
Awesome. I can feel the heart and soul you put into this composition. It fills the night with peace, joy and Serenity 🌙 and helps me finish my homework📝
Out of all the songs in Final Fantasy 4, this one sparks the most emotions for me. Rydia is and always will be my favorite character, and this version resonates so perfectly with her. Thank you
My goodness, you are so talented. I have so many of your remixes in a playlist of my favorite Video Game music. Thank you so much for sharing these covers.
I love this, and I love Rydia as well! I have cosplayed as her at Comic Con, drawn her and even name my dog after her. She is such a lovely and 'strong character ^_^
WOW! You made me think about which character could be my favorite one from any RPG, loving so many ones from the games I played in my whole life: -Setzer from FFVI -Kefka Palazzo also from FFVI -Kain Highwind from FFIV -Ingus from FFIII -N from Pokémon Black/White -Magus from Chrono Trigger -Piers from Golden Sun -Klarth F. Lester from Tales of Phantasia -Squall Lionheart & Rinoa Heartilly from FFVIII -Philia Felice from Tales of Destiny -and some other ones I can't remember right now ^_^' And surely I loved this new arrangement! Rydia indeed is a great character for this game. I loved so much when she got back in the middle of this tense battle against Golbez in the King Giott's Castle. She was a TRUE heroine :) Even when my favorite character from this game is Kain, she got my respect (but I loved also using Palom again in the GBA release :D ).
Very respectfully and loyally done, not that that should be a surprise. I really liked the way you manage to focus on the beginning of different parts of the main melody. And yes, Rydia rocks the FF world(s). It's hard for me to admit the same thing, because I really put FF6 on a pedestal way higher than the others, and think its overall character development is better. But it's true that when comparing character to character, Rydia is supreme, even compared to the likes of Terra or Shadow (maybe not Interceptor though...).
My favorite Final Fantasy game is FFIV just because of what an impression it made on me as a young person. It was like reading a great novel and falling in love with the characters.
Soooo soothing. Combined with "Into the Darkness" (recommended on the right), which I just listened to again, I'm really feeling the FFIV memories today. One of the first games I ever "played" just to listen to the music. I love how this rendition feels so full and...well...lush, but it doesn't get "busy" or loud or "epic". It's a simple, wistful theme about a girl growing up in the shadow of tragedy. A lighter orchestral touch works beautifully here. One of these days, I'd be great if you could elaborate on your tea love. At least share some favorites. It just so happens I poured myself a cup and a pot myself: black currant for the cup and a plum/cherry black tea for the pot. I like tea so flavorful, I can taste colors.
Thank you for your beautiful/thoughtful comment. ^_^ It's really nice to know others who enjoy gentler orchestral themes and don't require heavy/busy/loud stimulation to stay interested. Sometimes a firm touch is required to preserve an idea, but other times a gentler touch is required. Rydia's essence is soft and feminine, wistful, dreamy and otherworldly, I think. Plum cherry black tea sounds exquisite!
Oh, there's so much to recommend. I have a regular tea supplier that, from your comments, I could probably recommend ten blends off the top of my head. You like fruit and/or rose, that's a half dozen right there. Figs, cranberry, almond, Pomegranate oolong. Harney and Sons, out of New York. I can totally hook you up.😁
@@RebeccaETripp It always dissapoints me that Rydia hasn't been added to Dissidia's Fighting rooster. We need more Whip Weilding Summoners for goodness sake.
So relaxing and beautiful! Your works are awesome! You need more subs! XD P.S. Have you ever thought on playing other characters themes (like Cain's or Golbez's) with this celtic/irish style? That would be really cool!!
What do you do your scoring with? I'm assuming you're using software / DAW plugins and virtual instruments? I'm thinking about designing my own game using something like RPG MAKER MV, and the part that excites me the most about it is composing the soundtrack... I've been teaching myself audio production for about a year or two, and I'm just now looking into orchestral libraries to play around with. Not sure what to go wit though, and most of them are not exactly cheap.
I may just cry if they remix this theme in FF14 Endwalker. There are a lot of FF4 themes in the upcoming expansion, and woo boy... I am not ready for the feels.
Rydia is my favorite FF4 character also! You did such a beautiful version of her theme!
Thank you so much! 💐
This is breathtakingly beautiful... I miss when Final Fantasy games were like this one and FF6... Those were the best.
Thank you! I feel that that era had the purest and most moving stories.
Those two really are the best. 7 was awesome as well. Much better than Tidus complaining about his dad all the time in 10. Never played anything past that one. Hope they got better.
You should come watch me play Free Enterprise on Twitch - Rydia% runs :)

Rydia was an amazing character, through and through. Saved the whole party more than once.

I’m currently replaying FF4 now. This rendition of Rydia’s theme rivals and even surpasses the Pixel Remaster version. Great work as always
Thanks so much!

Ah Rydia. The very personification of 'They grow up so fast'.
Why have I never found your channel before. absolutely brilliant. I have fallen in love with your arrangements. Magnificent pieces.

Maybe geographic remixes too, mt Hobbs vs mt Ordeals, same music but a different feel.
That will happen as well- though probably only one remix for the FF4 mountain theme. And for the 5 and 6 ones.

In a manner of speaking. She embodies compassion and forgiveness (as does Rosa).
it sad that the whip can't be used in FF 14 , cuz i love Rydia and Quistis
Yeah, there are surprisingly few FF games were you're able to use one.
This actually helps me play Free Enterprise FF4 rando every night on Twitch :)
