We need to keep calling this stuff out. You cant have a situation where its OK to complain about ''too many whites'' in any situation in our country which according to the 2021 Census is 82% white. Nobody ever says '' too many blacks'' in our boxing teams , sprint teams , or Premier League football teams , nor should it be acceptable to say it about white people in any walk of life. Recently a London restaurant was criticised for having an all white team of chefs and waiters, but no one complains about a lack of diversity in Indian or Chinese restaurants , nor should they. Lets have genuine racial EQUALITY not DOUBLE STANDARDS , lets have an equal playing field when it comes to these kinds of remarks.

Yep. A significant number of women footballers are gay, but I guess that doesn't count as 'diversity' to him. It’s a proper English team it represents the indigenous people of England . You don’t see much diversity in the African or Caribbean teams because they are representative of their indigenous population.
The word indigenous is a real pearl clutcher these days.
The indigenous populations of the Caribbean were not black (as in the people of African descent that now make up the majority of the population and their sporting teams). The brown Taino people suffered badly from colonisation by Europeans and their slave labour.

What about the south african cricket team, predominantly white skinned, their rugby team, predominantly white skinned while their football team is predominantly black skinned. This tells you more about imperialism and establishment privilege than indigenous population.
We got warned this would happen in the 70's -80's and here we are. The Lionesses were obviously not wanting to male the same mistake as the men's team when the 3 black boys missed the penalties in the Euro final.

I tend to agree with Hitchens; I’m far more concerned with culture and character. Our enemies however are obsessed with the colour of skin, and it’s very much one of their objectives to remove the English from the national consciousness. Any mathematicians out there? 67 million people in the UK, of which 4% are black 2% if you just count ladies. Divide the result by 3 to get those who would be of playing age 17 - 35. It comes out at less than half a million, then take away those who don't like football, those with no skill and drift away to another sport or interest and the real biggie, those who don't get a chance to play in the first place.
The real problem with all sports is getting them interested and keeping them interested.

It is time that people who try to race bait were told to "get stuffed". We are a white nation and as such there could be more whites in a team than blacks, asians or whatever. He chose to overlook the fact that at least two members of the squad were not white - which is a perfectly reasonable representation of ethnic people in an England team - at least while England is around 80% white.
Maybe somebody should start questioning why there is an OVER representation of non-white players in the England men's team? Of course that's never going to happen is it.

The idea here is that selection to represent England in major sporting events can no longer be based exclusively on performance, but should rather be based on ethnic origin, sexual orientation or religious belief. In this way any 'representative' team should be made up of members of this or that minority group. I'm absolutely outraged that there was no representation of disabled people in the England women's national team! Surely they could shoehorn a wheelchair user to play in goal or something. And not a damn dwarf amongst them. How on earth are we meant to survive without token representations of every bloody identity group under the sun? .....Living +10 years in England, and without offending, I was "surprised" more, to see many people of color in the men's team +60%, than to see few people of color in the Women's team.....
....but it is understandable, it is that now there are many very good English players of color, and before there were not so many...and that happens to Germany, Spain, Italy etc, etc, the countries are increasingly cosmopolitan.
