- In this video we check out a very nice, clean and original example of a 1985 Mustang GT! These are becoming more and more rare and to find a Fox Body Mustang this original is extremely rare!
Wow. Memories of my old 84 1/2 Anniversary GT350 flooding in.
This thing is like a Time Machine!
LOVE IT! So hard to find a stock original which is what I want.
Had an 85 and 6 back when they were new. FIrst late model EFI car I owned put over 90k trouble free hard miles on it. Never broke down
Waxed that car so much I actually went thruogh the black stripe on the hood..paint isnt very thick on those.
REmember the primer being almost a greenish tint.
Yeah the original cars are getting very hard to come by!
Dude I’m so jealous. 85’-86’ is my favorite fox body style
They’re my second favorite, but it’s a VERY close second!
@@dugganracecraft I’m a little bias cause I learned to drive in my grandma’s 86’ that years later became my first car.
Yeah exactly! I grew up with my dads ‘80 cobra so I’m bias towards those. Nothing wrong with a little bias right? Lol
@@dugganracecraft not at all man. We all like what we like.
One of the best performance cars bang for the buck of that era
Oh 100%!
Good call on the hood stripe. I was going to replace the one on my 86, but none of the replacements were correct, so I decided to have it painted in a satin charcoal: looked amazing once it was done.
It came out pretty great. I didn’t get the chance to do it, and he sold the car before I could do a follow up!
I will have to also paint one on .
@@mikefleissner4415 it’s not a bad idea, it really looked good when it was done
Hell yea! Nice ride
One of the nicest foxes I’ve ever seen in person tbh
@@dugganracecraft I’ve never seen a clean 4 eye up close.
Truth be told, me either except for this one 😂
You have the non-cruise control steering wheel. I have a 1985 mustang GT with 9500 original miles. It’s looks exactly like the car on the brochure from 1985. Silver without air conditioning or power windows or cruise control.
Love this ride mines a silver one 85 aa eell I bought a lil over a year ago and came with an Edelbrock carburetor which I had rebuilt. It needs cosmetic fixes and some electric gremlins has to be adressed. Congrats!
Sounds like you have a pretty nice little rig man!
Beautiful car, however all original it would have the phone dial wheels. However if it's for sale I'm interested. Also the SVO steering wheel is very rare for that car and a big plus. Does it have the fog light covers?
He has the original 10 holes but I think the tires have been replaced? It does come with the fog light covers! Shoot me an email at dugganracecraft@gmail.com and I’ll get you set up with the owner!
The steering wheel came on these cars only if you opted out on cruse control mine had one too "no cruse".my car also came with a seat of fog light covers i never kept them on the car .i think i gave them away after i traded the car in .." boy i should of kept that car "
I love this car!, IT IS my first new car i got back in 85 the same color but mine had t/top's last of the Holley 4 barrel 302. Wish i would of keep it paid $11,500 for it new .I think you should put the stock wheels back on it with Goodyear gator back tires
It still has the original wheels that will come with it but the original gator backs were replaced unfortunately. It is a beautiful car though, too nice for me honestly 😂
@@dugganracecraft IS IT FOR SALE ?
Same here, Silver 85 GT 5 spd... beat the hell outta that car.
Last I saw Gatorbacks were available in reproduction from Coker at $450 each
To add to my store : I ordered my 85 from the dealer my mom worked at the guy's at the dealer set up a surprise and ask me if I wanted tickets to the Dearborn Rouge plant tour So I went ! ,what they did not tell me that the day I went My car was being built ,After about a hour on the tour Ford PR people came and got me and to my surprise took me to my car on the line and showed me the dentation dealer Atchinson Ford Belleville MI where my mom worked .The car was getting seats put in at the time I got to see It 2 weeks later I got it !!! we took the car to Car's & Concepts to have T-Tops installed there was a long wait threw the factory to get them ,It was faster to just take the car there but I was not thrilled with the way they do the installation it was braced on the out side of the door jam instead of internal way C&C did it for Ford . P.S. If any one knows of a silver 85 GT with 302 5sp holly 4 br in mint condition let me know (finders fee)
I got my 85 GT in January of 86. Very similar to this one except I have the deluxe package on it: power windows, better steering wheel, cruise and the pop up sun roof. So loved the car I sold it in 1990 for a 5.0 LX and wished I had not. The LX was great but I missed the response the Holley carb provided.
Also please ditch those flea market wheels and get some originals and slap some Goodyear Gatorbacks on them while you are t it 😂
I agree, the own put the original 10 holes back on before it was sold I do believe 😂
Beautiful car
Most definitely!
From my loaded $16,000 1982 Z28, to a test drive in a New $11,000 85 Mustang GT 5 Speed......One trip through the gears, I was sold.
I loved my z28 , but that Mustang made me a Ford guy for a 36 month lease.
My wife had a fit until i handed her the z28 keys.
I’ve never gotten to drive an older Z28 but, based on everything that I’ve seen and read, these GTs were top dog back in the day!
Can I get some more information on your steam cleaner? Brand...price..where did you get it..
Harbor Freight! I think it was $100?
I don’t believe there was an 85 carb automatic. Unless you got that carb from a different vehicle. All carb 5.0 mustangs were 5 speeds. The AOD cars had CFI
I didn’t know that actually, thanks for the information!
I beg to differ my dad had one he never touched. He recently passed away now I have the car. It's definitely an automatic and 85, 5.0.
@@MayorMallz I’m not saying there wasn’t an 85 5.0 automatic. I’m saying it didn’t have the Holley carb. It had throttle body fuel injection or “CFI” in Ford speak.
It clearly has a 5spd
A lot of the 85 GT convertible’s came with automatics with carbs. Carbs didn’t appear until 86
That's my dream fox 😍 that's beautiful
You and me both brother!
I need that car in my collection. Hows your car coming along? Is it finished yet? I need to get ya to build me some 1"7/8 headers for me. Do you think u could copy some but with bigger primaries
I could try it! It would be tricky to do without the car though if I'm going to be honest lol. It's going well though! If the weather holds out for me this weekend, I'm gonna drive it for the first time!
@@dugganracecraft thats what I was thinking when i get finished with the interior I may arrange a trip to drop i''x'SC z n b MNt off and let ya have at it 😁 sweet let me know how it goes Im ready to see it in action
You’re always one of the first to know 😉
@@dugganracecraft thats what im talkin bout, where are ya living at now?
Thankyou .I have an 85 original
What color??
@@dugganracecraft jalapeño red.cool to know you
I’ll try to get my dads built 85 street car into work here soon.
I’m looking forward to it 😉
85 to 86 Mustang GT, besides the switch to EFI, 3rd brake light and larger clutch Ford switched to a lighter more charcoal hood stripe and headlight area paint.
Duly noted!
The engine got different heads also.
@@emartin1071
EFI truck heads for 1986, then different heads for 1987.
I had a 1985 mustang GT was my first new car and for being a mid-80s car that thing was fast and the 85 mustang GT had two different engines a roller 50 for a five speed car and a regular 5.0 for an automatic car
They’re great cars! I’d love to pick one up for myself!
What state are you in?
From Iowa but currently living in Wisconsin!
How did you that sticker off the hood
Eraser wheel!
Did it screw up the paint ?
@@cchog1 no but it can pretty easily if you’re not careful! You have to really sit in one spot and it’ll start to scuff the paint. But if you get a soft eraser wheel it’s pretty easy. I don’t recommend the 3M ones because they’re pretty hard and easy to scuff the paint. Get a cheap one from amazon!
@@dugganracecraft
Thanks
Nice car (I’ve had a few), but your ALL ORIGINAL title…no, not all original but a nice car. Bring that to a MCA show and let me judge it.
Sorry, I guess I didn’t consider that it would be judged on its originality lol
Wrong wheels
He has the original wheels to go with it!
