I agree with your comments on pack companies streamlining their pack offerings and focusing on fine tuning their design as opposed to “creating new wheels” on each design in hopes of hitting a winner.
It makes sense to me. It sounds weird, but I'd respect a company that sticks to a bad design over a company that has a million different offerings year after year.
Great review. I'm looking at getting either the 3200 or 4800 bag. I've got the 1800 and frame for day hunts. My longest trip out is 3 nights. I think I might be able to get away with the 3200. Is the size rating before or after the roll top is extended? I just like to stuff the sleeping bag and tent in the bottom put food and clothes on top of that. I eat and drink quite a bit so my space is consumed with Mountain House, snacks and water.
Loved the review. I run a 4800 and have pack hunted 5 times since December carrying between38 to 68 pounds. Incredible comfort. Now my turn to be picky; hate the background music. It's very distracting. Just personal preference. Again, love the detailed review and appreciate the fact that you are speaking from experience.
I've had the K2 3500 since 2016 ... how does the K3 3200 and 4800 compare to size wise to mine .... mine seems tight for space but last Sept had it loaded with 32kg for 7 days ( using the pack out panel for food only as I knew this would diminish ) ? G reat review too mate !
I think if you wear camo and you want your gear to match, then go for it. I think a camo pack is really just for looks, but I'm sure someone out there thinks it makes all the difference in the world. I'd personally just choose a neutral earth tone like brown or green that way if you DO wear camo, it won't stand out too much.
Never had one, but there are a lot of people who really love them. My hold up is the bag design. They don’t come with the features I enjoy, specifically a roll top. I just don’t like the horse shoe zipper design.
Was really surprised to see these bags compete well on weight with backpacking-specific ultralight gear like Hyperlite MG bags.

Good review. I’m looking forward to trying the K3 frame and suspension.
Thanks! When you do, I'd be interested to hear what your thoughts are!
Great review! Honest, detailed, and to the point.
Much appreciated!

Thanks! I’m pretty sure the 3200 volume is BEFORE the roll top is extended.
Thank you.
@@EmoryByLand Thanks
Same exact question for the same reasons. Is the volume rating with the roll top all the way out or in?
Oops, I see it has been answered. Thanks!

Excellent review. Thanks.
You bet. 👊🏼
Any opinion on the importance for camo on backpack for bow hunting?

@@EmoryByLand For hunting people I'd say it makes a difference lol.
Any thoughts on Stone Glacier packs?
