    These cars restored will bring the gold In the future. I remember they were the talk of car collectors 15 years ago when you could pick one like this up for 10k. Anther 15 years after what's happening now I bet this car restored numbers matching is worth 60k plus.

    I love your honest reviews on these old cars.They are all unique with their own character.I see myself in nearly every car you review.Great camera angles like showing the front of the hood when you goose it.I chew my nails in anticipation waiting for you to check the "kick down".Rolling in to Maple Motors one day is definitely on my bucket list.

    Ok. You sold it. Goes into the collection. Very very nice. Love the blue. Only things that I don't like. No power locks and doors. And it's a manual. But I would deal with it. The mileage could be accurate. It's been well taken care of. I wish I could take care of now.

    As I recall the hood scoop came blocked off, thanks to emission standards, but you could drill the rivets and remove it pretty easily and cleanly.
    I couldn't tell if this car had headers, but they made a huge difference on this engine, or on the 400 anyway.
    Surprised at the lack of power windows. Honestly not the best build quality, but fun to drive.

      Now I partially remember why I wasn't able to pick it up. Dad and I had an agreement,he would make the payments and I paid the insurance. I was a carry out for a local grocery store at the time and for some reason we got into it and he made me quit my job,no money for insurance so no car. Think it was around$4600, or in that area and I did lose my deposit and it was my money. Would love to ask him if he remembered what the fight was about but we buried him monday,cars brings back the memories huh.🇺🇲

      4 speeds are slower than autos. The only reason some guys like manual trans is because they like the way they feel. Everything being exact equal on a car, the auto will feed an manual trans car it's lunch. No one can shift as fast as an auto.

    Somebody has changed the heads. It either is 7M5 or 7K3 which would be 8.4 compression with the 7M5 or 9.25 with 7K3. 7K3 are a common swap on a 455 which explains how easy it break loose the tires in 1st gear.

    These are poser cars. That '76 455 probably only had 175hp worn out. They only had 200 hp new. Giant emission turds. Gas guzzler without the performance. They only had 7.6 compression lol! A shadow of a real engine. I've no doubt you can properly fix them today though and turn her into a tire roaster will little effort with a real set of pistons and a good cam and whatever else it might take in machine work to the block. No doubt the heads are probably junk too. You'd have to research to see if those can be reworked and even worth messing with. Hard to say. My guess without knowing anything about 'em is probably not. I bet those are getting scrapped and just replaced for a set of aluminum.

    • @V8_screw_electric_cars
      @V8_screw_electric_cars 2 роки тому +3

      There's video on youtube where guy made 1976 buick 455 to 500HP without any turbo or supercharger, so definitely doable. It was higher then 7.6 compression but not 9 or 10 like earlier.
