+HangingWithBoudi Yes. It's a joke because of how Candle Cove ends with the person saying about how his mum said he just used to watch static for 30 minutes. Funny aren't I ;)

I told my dad about this and he said he remembers this show. He was born in 1972 and he remembers watching it when he was around 12. I ask my grandma (who is my dads mom) about the show and she remembers my dad watching the show. My aunt (who is my dads older sister) remembers watching the show with my dad. My dad was 12 and my aunt was 16. They don't believe me when I said it doesn't exist.
The other day, my Mom and I were watching Channel Zero. My Mom suddenly said,"I think I saw this show when I was little." I said,"Candle Cove?" "Yeah." "WHAT?!" "I recognize those puppets." "Which one?" "That pirate one." Either the puppet they used for the pirate was used in another show, Candle Cover was REAL, or my Mom's crazy. I think she's crazy...
I have a memory of a weird show I watched when I was young: I don’t remember the name of the show or any episodes either, and both my mum and dad faintly remember the show. So the show was about a bunch of rabbits that moved into a haunted house and there was a vampire in it. The only other parts of the show I remember is the intro and a small part of an episode. The intro starts with the family of rabbits in an estate car driving through the rain to the house and then they walk through the door and see the vampire and they are scared by it, that’s all I remember. The small bit of the episode I remember is one of the rabbits hiding under a piano from the vampire after the vampire gets angry and starts hurting all the rabbits (the vampire and rabbits became friends at one point in an episode). The show’s animation style was a plastic kind of model for the house, car and all the items and objects (like in Wallace and Gromit). The rabbits were doll looking kind of things like the type that have a porcelain ball in the head and a body filled with sand. All the edges for the rabbits and things were well defined and nice looking, but the vampire was a crudely made bald papier-mâché doll dressed in black rags. I’m surprised I remember so much of this show I saw! As a side note though, I said that I watched this when I was young, like 3yo young, so it could of easily been an ad for some doll collection that I misinterpreted as a show!
I have this vauge memory of a show where there was a group of people who sung kids songs. I have a feeling I mightve seen it live and no it was not High Five. They were singing a song about a hairy gorilla
I have a false memory! I vividly remember going on vacation with my father, brother and stepmother. It was a very beautiful beach with a very blue sea and we swam with dolphins. What's weird is that I remember the feel of the dolphin's skin as I touched them and they swam with me. I remember things we said, inside jokes and even the city in which it all happened. Recently I commented on that, asking my stepmother if she remembered when was that. She said it never happened. It seriously gave me chills.
According to my mom, when I was very little, I would sometimes go outside and stare at a tree for extremely long periods of time, thinking it was a TV show. :| wtf 4 year old me
I remember during the 1980's when me and my family were traveling in Taured and we were staying in a hotel for a few nights and then my favourite song titled Like The Wind shows up on TV and my family was jamming to it.After that an episode of my favourite puppet show Candle Cove shows up and I watched it and after it ends I switched to a news channel and we found out that Nelson Mandela died and we were so sad about it.😢
The false memory has me upset at false memories Cuz I swear the manga that I still can't find really did exist and if not, I'm gonna have to draw and make the shite
could you describe what you remember about the manga? i had a similar experience with a show i watched when i was younger and i recently found out it was the anime futari wa precure
There was this show I thought I used to see on the Disney channel back in the late 90s/early 2000s but I didn't have cable myself so getting to see anything on Disney Channel was a rare occurrence. I remember it was on at night I think and I knew the character's name back then but not now, she was a blonde teen and had some interesting adventures, one episode that I can recall is a new brunette girl shows up in town and starts a singing career she's great at and iirc she can play guitar too but she's actually a siren of sorts and can permanently(?) steal the musical talents of others. Idk if the series was Alex Mac or something, I didn't have any luck looking into it which is a shame since I really want to see all episodes from the beginning.
I VIVIDLY remember a scene from a random Chucky movie it's was Andy dropping Chucky or Chucky falling as he says Chucky wants to play my parents teased me with it for years but if I ask about it now they don't remember it and I checked the deleted scenes and it is not there
Though Candle Cove is fake its not entirely out of the question that something like that could have happened, back in the days before everything went digital you did have those channels that were in between other channels while most of the time you would see nothing but static every now and then you would get images from other channels, sometimes something like duck tales would be fused with an episode of the simpsons, because those two signals would get crossed.
***** Absolutely. Before cable TV when all the channels were over airwaves and you needed an antenna to tune them in, quite often a channel would be barely coming in but it would be something like a cartoon that I wanted to watch, so like a stupid kid, I would stare really close at the static and sometimes it would fade in and out, and I could see ~ somewhat ~ what was happening or hear it. A kid sitting staring at a channel that was almost all static would not have really been that alarming. My mom used to just tell me to sit back farther, but she would not have freaked out because I was staring at static.
***** In between static and channels you would get the show but all staticy until you get the right pick up persay kind of like a radio how its static till you get the perfect frequency
***** This is true. A very cool attribute that waves have is that they can easily cross and interfere with each other. A simple experiment you can do is to fill a bowl with water and make two ripples somewhere with your fingers. You will see that the waves pass through each other, unphased. This applies to any kind of wave, and it doesn't have to be two waves at all. It could be three, four, five, and so on. As your theory on explaining how a show like candle cove would spawn from this, I would see this as unlikely. The shows would have to be in perfect sync (or out of sync in specific parts), have almost the same length, and for all of the randomness to somehow add up to a understandable script and characters relating to pirates, I would see this as almost impossible. But, with a universe of infinite chances, it might be possible, but very unlikely. Good theory though.
ゼロから人生を始める 2re Not always. It can, but, the Mandela Effect is a branch of the False Memory phenomenon. The Mandela Effect works with thinking something is one way when it's really the other.
Not really. That's a hallucination. The "Mandela Effect" is when a whole lot of people simply remember something wrong, usually because what happens is different from what you'd expect or things are easily conflated. For example, many people are convinced that the BerenstAin Bears are called the BarenstEin Bears, because names with "Stein" tend to have "StEin" spelled with an "E." Ironically, while typing this comment Chrome's spell-check kept trying to change "Berenstain" to "Bernstein," which is the more common spelling of that name.
I just seen it right now and I feel bad for Percy cause he is terrified being in this show. And the little guy with the mustache and big teeth is creepy, he also said he could see us watching the show.
(My opinion) I think it'd be cool of they made actual episodes of Candle Cove and aired them on TV (Not necessarily on a kids channel either). I think if someone made an actual adaptation of the story with actual puppets and the actual screaming episode it would be quite interesting. I am aware that there's Channel Zero on Syfy, but I'd like to see a show of the actual Candle Cove.
According to my mom, when I was very little, I would sometimes go outside and stare at a tree for extremely long periods of time, thinking it was a TV show. :| wtf 4 year old me
As a mom, if my daughter were to sit and watch static I would just thinks its funny and weird. I would probably ask her why she's watching it and think anything she said was her imagination.
Wait. When I'm 4 or 5, I do the same thing. And worse, every night, I see, some person-like figure standing outside my parents' bedroom all night, sometimes I'm scared and cry (As my mother told me) and sometimes I laugh because _he_ is trying to make me laugh. Wow
@@marcar9marcar972 The so-called Mandela effect is fake, too. There's a simple explanation for each example. Case in point, a lot of people thought Nelson Mandela was dead because they were mixing him up with Malcolm X.
@@schwellenangst1605 Our brains are lazy. They will literally look for the easiest way to function. Case in point, we all have a blind spot in one eye, our brain fills in this blind spot.
I have no reason to believe that Candle Cove actually existed, however, I do believe that it could have been based on an obscure, but similar TV show that could have possibly existed, since back in the 70's when the show supposedly aired, television wasn't as well documented as it is now. The story states it aired on a local station and was likely a local program, which are likely going to be lesser known and more obscure than shows that were distributed to multiple stations and affiliates since at the time TV stations were not as consistent and had varying schedules (for instance, an NBC station in Los Angeles would have different programming at different times than when an NBC station in Chicago would air them, with a number of exceptions), unlike today where most stations have a consistent schedule nation-wide due to being connected by cable and satellite services, which didn't exist in the 70's, so the possibility of a show that's similar to Candle Cove is out there. As for the mention of the Cartoon Network series "The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack", I have noticed that the show and Candle Cove do have a striking number of similarities, and that it may have served as inspiration for Candle Cove since Flapjack first aired in 2008 (the video states it was 2007 but it actually first aired in 2008) and the Candle Cove creepypasta was first posted in 2009, one year after Flapjack premiered. Interestingly, Bubby the Whale was originally going to be a whale-shaped submarine, making her similarities to the Laughing Stock even more obvious. Finally, as for how the mother saw nothing but static and how the kids saw a TV show, it's most likely something paranormal, which is a common trope for creepypastas of this type.
i don't think that the show existed BUT i did find the forum that the people all talked bout it on. that was a while again and i don't remember the website. i will try to find it again.
Fun fact, all though candle cove was never a real kids show, there was a tv adaptation of the creepy pasta. A horror anthology show called channel zero did a season based on it. It expands on a lot of stuff and actually seems quite interesting.
@@the_punk_of_funk8465 yes! I love you I've wondered how no one thought of how candle cove started t hat show on shudder channel zero thank you for this
When the power would go out in my house when I was young. I would watch static and try to make up shapes of my favorite cartoons and turn it into an episode that I've seen.
Candle Cove is a good story for the simple reason that people seem to genuinely believe it exists. The story was written by Kris Straub, and he has even written a short story about it. The show you can find online is an adaptation made in 2016 that attempts to recreate and expand upon the show in the creepypasta.
my parents had an old television that I would watch as a kid, they showed me this one kids show but it was extremely grainy and low quality, I thought it was a pirate show but it was actually some kind of rug rats knock off, maybe people just think they saw the show because of the low quality of television at the time
I know Kris Straub actually wrote Candle Cove for his old site Ichor Falls, which sadly isn't up anymore (At least all the stories on it are up on tumblr.) It's even included in two of his books, Ichor Falls: A Visitor's Guide and Candle Cove and other Stories. He's also been on and off with a series on his channel for Chainsawsuit called Local 58 which is interesting. Also, his webcomic Broodhollow is pretty good. He needs to go back to book three though. I'm glad I actually got to meet him a few times. He's a really cool guy.
Slander .lord I know what I did. Plus I only mentioned it because it's cosmic horror story and thus thought the type of person who'd watch this video would appreciate it.
I've had what is probably one of those false memory things. I was insistent for years that: there was an episode of: Rugrats: All Growed Up where, Chucky is involved with marijuana somehow; either/or hiding it for older kids, or, smoking it himself. A few years on, i tried looking it up online, and, can't find any evidence of any Rugrats at all where marijuana is overtly referenced.
@@jacobfleming565 I do too. But mainly because I had the same dream repeated dozens of times, and sometimes even continue where they left off from the night before.
Same but it was with Pokemon, I remember seeing an episode of the diamond and pearl season with Lucas in it. I thought it was real for so long until I tried searching it up.
Glad you mentioned false memory syndrome. It is the explanation for a huge chunk of paranormal phenomena. It is NOT uncommon, and the person having the false memory absolutely cannot tell that they are "remembering" something that never happened.
I did that too. And I would laugh and yell at the static. That's what my mom told me and she said she was scared of me doing that. When I was 7 I stopped doing it.
Sorry for the random plug-in, but I'm honestly kind of flattered to see the influence my pasta has had on the CC fandom. It's been what feels like six years since I wrote my piece, and it still blows my mind to know it still has some minor relevance; with a good chunk of the names from my telling are on the Wiki, and the writer of Tales of the Laughingstock based his story on mine. It's still really weird to know that we were talking about how great it would have been to adapt it into a movie at some point, but we never had a followup after he got banned from the CP Wiki (or something like that) and I've heard back from him since. Great video, ScareTheater. Candle Cove is still, by far, my favorite creepypasta and definitely needs more love (even a fraction of what Jeff the Killer and Slenderman get). \m/
@@SirChubbyBunny were you involved in the production when Channel Zero did an episode about it in 2016? They at least must have got your permission since you were the one that wrote it! That’s where I saw it, anyways…great story & I think they did a great job with it.
@@Tara_P_Rose Nope, but it would have been surreal for sure. If anything, I'd love to know what Ishmael Dudong thinks since he wrote Tales of the Laughingjack all those years ago.
What I really love is that the story itself is essentially about creating false memories out of random noise, and then it actually created false memories in a bunch of people. Now that's some good horror fiction.
I have this to! I don't know why or what it means but I have distinct memories of me doing things in third person, such as doing the dishes, or just walking down a hall
My mom came in my room when you were comparing the screams and she was insanely concerned at why I would be up at 1 in the morning listening to a woman screaming.
I was watching a movie on syfy and I saw this commercial about a cruise or something and then the tv went to static and saw a puppet tv show and at the end of the ad in static with a white background I saw the words candle cove . So are they making a tv show or do I have to move out?
Pretty sure my uncle used to watch a show like this when he was a kid. Haven’t talked to him about it in awhile, but I remember from two years ago he said like: “I can’t find the show I watched.” But hey, that’s from faint memories. I’m contacting him soon, and he was the one who introduced me to candle cove. If this gets deleted, it means I was wrong.
Man false memories are no joke. I have had one. I only say it was false because while It was ridiculously realistic I don't think it's at all possible. I vividly remember this one time in the 90s when I was a young child I had been laying on the couch in the middle of the night. I couldn't sleep so I was just laying there watching the infomercial that was playing on tv. But then this huge group of what just looked like tiny black dots lifted me up into this room in the house I had never seen. It was not super wide but it was long and totally white. White ceiling, white paint on the walls and white tile on the floor. There was no ceiling fan... Nothing. It looked extremely clean. It had one window and if you looked out it you saw trees and sunlight but no way of knowing where you actually were. Inside the room was totally empty except a black piano in the one corner. While in the room the black dots changed colors. They changed from black to translucent and almost shimmery. After they changed their color they then lifted me up again so they could carry me back down to my living room. They left me standing near the doorway. I remember going and laying back down and then watching as they disappeared. The craziest thing is I really vividly remember physically feeling them touch me and lift me up and then lower me back down. I remember walking to lay back down. I remember even feeling the floor under my feet as I walked in the room and from the doorway to couch. I actually physically felt everything as if I had been awake.
I had a false memory similar to that! When I was like 3 ish I remember sitting down with my legs crossed behind the couch were my mom was sitting there watching tv in the living room of my old house, and after like an hour I started floating until i was half way between the roof and floor and that's all I remember o.O
Jelly C It's really strange how that happens. I had one other but it was less interesting than the other. I remember when I was like 3-4 jumping at the top of the steps and floating to the bottom of the steps.
You know, I do remember doing things as floating on the main room and touching the ceiling and I remember doing it a lot of times. I really was into thinking that I knew the exact feel of floating and, you know, I was quite chubby in that time. So often I think I was just too trippy minded.
Deidra Saltsman I have quite a few "memories" like that too of very weird, surreal things that I would swear actually happened to me when when I was about 3 or 4 years. One of the most terrifying things that happened that I remember was that I was sitting in the front seat of the car with my mom driving, and I looked over at her and she was suddenly not there. I was going down the road with the car driving itself. I started screaming at the top of my lungs and within a few seconds my mom appeared again, asking my why I was screaming and crying, and I tearfully said "you weren't there! you weren't there!" The thing is my mom can't remember that happening at all - I don't mean disappearing (LOL), I mean the part about me crying and _thinking_ she had disappeared. It seems SO real and the memory seems more real than memories of things that actually happened, but I'm sure it was probably just a very vivid dream. I have a feeling that when we're in that 2-5 year old range, as our brains are beginning to develop, and we begin to experience things and _start to log memories,_ that we must have some trouble telling some dreams and/or fantasy thoughts apart from things that actually happen. And the more time passes, the more hold onto those "memories" and they become even more solid in our minds as if they were things that really happened.
People could always create a thread on that wikia about a random episode, you just thought of in the place, like not even real, if they say they remember it then it's simply fake. As YOU came up with it. Such simple solution. I don't get why people didnt come up with this earlier.
when I searched candle cove and a full episode came up I thought I was crazy so I played it and my mum walked in and said “why are you watching static” and I actually shit myself A couple hours later she told me that she new what the creepypasta was and was just playing but I swear-
Hello friend, watched video again and rechecked book again, "Ichor Falls" written by: Kris Straub. In the Chapter called, "Candle Cove", from what I understand, it could be real!!! As person named, Jaren_2005, says, he remembers show ran only couple months in "71", he was 12 at that time. Was on Channel 58, according to the viewers that watched this show, "Candle Cove" was name of show took place in the town of, "Ichor Falls". So you see, in this book, there are at least about 10 people who remember the show. So not sure of where I stand, still researching....but, if you ask me, the book has some compelling evidence from many who remember the show. They all say they remember it being shown in the 70's, so who's to say, it didn't come back again in the "70's". Find the book on Amazon can buy there, small book, doesn't cost that much. Or run Google Search for name of town and see what comes up. Thanks again for sharing friend.

The other day, my Mom and I were watching Channel Zero.
My Mom suddenly said,"I think I saw this show when I was little."
I said,"Candle Cove?"
"Yeah."
"WHAT?!"
"I recognize those puppets."
"Which one?"
"That pirate one."
Either the puppet they used for the pirate was used in another show, Candle Cover was REAL, or my Mom's crazy.
I think she's crazy...

It's a series on the SyFy channel.

Well the video clip was taken from somewhere
Candle Cove was an actual show in 1972.
I have a memory of a weird show I watched when I was young:
I don’t remember the name of the show or any episodes either, and both my mum and dad faintly remember the show.
FloopMaChoot I feel like a remember that just a tiny bit. I remember the plot and nothing else like visuals or anything. Let’s start a hunt

***** damn... interesting.
***** that happens with my emergency radio all the time
***** In between static and channels you would get the show but all staticy until you get the right pick up persay kind of like a radio how its static till you get the perfect frequency
Good theory though.

false memory is mandela effect
Mandela effect is slang for false memory on a major scale.
ゼロから人生を始める 2re Not always. It can, but, the Mandela Effect is a branch of the False Memory phenomenon. The Mandela Effect works with thinking something is one way when it's really the other.
2reゼロから人生を始める
Sooo... the Mandela effect is when you see something that isn’t real?

Are your fingers tired?
Zeno Sama yea man, are they?
i don't think that the show existed BUT i did find the forum that the people all talked bout it on. that was a while again and i don't remember the website. i will try to find it again.

Candle Cove is a good story for the simple reason that people seem to genuinely believe it exists.
The story was written by Kris Straub, and he has even written a short story about it. The show you can find online is an adaptation made in 2016 that attempts to recreate and expand upon the show in the creepypasta.
There’s an episode made about it on Stranger Things on Netflix, which is where I saw it. Check it out if you get a chance, it’s pretty well done 👍🏼

Glad you mentioned false memory syndrome. It is the explanation for a huge chunk of paranormal phenomena. It is NOT uncommon, and the person having the false memory absolutely cannot tell that they are "remembering" something that never happened.

What piece did you write?
I wrote Candle Cove: Memoirs of a Set Designer
It might be on the Creepypasta Wiki still.
Maybe I'm being overly critical, but I didn't think my spin on things was that great--but hey, as long as some people out there dig it, it's fine.
@@SirChubbyBunny were you involved in the production when Channel Zero did an episode about it in 2016? They at least must have got your permission since you were the one that wrote it! That’s where I saw it, anyways…great story & I think they did a great job with it.

Meistache in a rootshell Yeah. I normally don't tell people mine but this seemed like a good place to share haha
Imagine if Candle Cove was a Adult Swim show that only aired in October as some kind of Halloween special.
People could always create a thread on that wikia about a random episode, you just thought of in the place, like not even real, if they say they remember it then it's simply fake. As YOU came up with it. Such simple solution. I don't get why people didnt come up with this earlier.

when I searched candle cove and a full episode came up I thought I was crazy so I played it and my mum walked in and said “why are you watching static” and I actually shit myself
A couple hours later she told me that she new what the creepypasta was and was just playing but I swear-
Candle cove later got released in 2016 by channel 0

If it was me, I'd actually make Candle cove real just for the hell of it
Hello friend, watched video again and rechecked book again, "Ichor Falls" written by: Kris Straub.
I only watch this video cuz i got recommended to a Candle Cove episode and its weird af
