How would you have utilised her differently? Should she have gained powers of her own? Let me know your thoughts!
I always hoped for Tatski to get like flying hermes boots. She seems like someone who needs a mobility abilitie. She should have been part of the original rukia rescue team
I feel like by the Hell arc, she's got to have something that gives her capabilities beyond a normal human. I'm not sure what it would be exactly, but I want her to meet Kūkaku and see where that leads lol.
@@lolsnez7542 yes, Tatsuki and Ichigo knew each other since they were children. Fun Fact, in the pilot chapter for Bleach Orihime is actually dead, Ichigo helps her move on. and Rukia fits in his pocket.
And in the filler she helps kill hollows she is given the sight during orihimes awakening just like the others but her power isn't really developed. But if we want to talk wasted potential Karin and yuzu ichigos blood sisters who should be having the same latent issue as him excessive spiritual power. They are still Quincy and Capitan level shinigami children.
Tatsuki felt a lot braver, intelligent and strong willed than the others. She wasn't crude like Hiyori, but she wasn't passive like Orihime either. She felt like she had some potential she was never allowed to reach for.
Actually, Tatsuki was Ichigo's friend, Orihime was just her friend that Ichigo knew. But as the series progessed, Orihime also became a close friend to Ichigo. But she started out as just someone he knew through Tatsuki.
I think Ichigo's sisters were not fleshed out enough. They were hinted to have powers since the beginning of the manga but it just never went anywhere.
Ichigo wouldn’t have allowed them to get involved in the TYBW. And that’s the only time they were old enough to do anything. They should have been the star of their own mini arc fighting hollows instead of those soul reapers in the beginning of TYBW that never showed up again.
I think they, as well as tatsuki and Don what's-his-name, and several other characters were shown to be simply spiritually aware humans. I agree we should have gotten more from them, as well as all the original friends, but I don't believe we needed the sisters to have power beyond whatever they have already.
She could have made a good apprentice for Yoruichi, she could derive some of Yoruichis techniques such as, Shunpo and Hakuda and utilise them in her Karate
If Soi-Fon saw Tatsuki with Yoruichi, she would become either extremely jealous or obsessed with her instead. Tatsuki could then rhetorically ask why she seems to attract the psycho girls (referring to Chizuru and Soi-Fon).
I definitely felt like Tatsuki could have been given some hidden potential especially due to her martial arts background. Thought she could have been a great addition for Xcution like Chad.
Personally I think she was supposed to be the one who joined Xcution and not Chad at all but it was too complicated to develop a whole new power set so Kubo just went “yeah so this is actually how Chad works” instead
My idea is that Ichigo close friends (minus Orihime and Chad), had gained awareness or consciousness of non-human beings like hollows and shinigami due to the influence of Ichigo's power, or probably the hogyoku when it was inside Rukia. However they didn't gain power because they were not fullbrings.
Tatsuki left a much larger impression on me than her screen time would suggest. Despite having no significant fights and contributing very little to the overall story, she was one of my favorite characters and her relationship with the main cast was fantastically written.
Tatsuki is my absolute favorite human character. Her themes with her name and her dynamic with Orihime and how it shifts, her design, the way she really presses Ichigo to open up as he becomes more reclusive in the arrancar arc. She's my Bleach waifu, and I will always be proud to admit it.
Honestly while I'm not a shipper... I liked the dynamic she had with Ichigo a lot. Had she been the final love interest I would've been OK with that. But at the same time I feel that could've just created some issues :/
Ichigo's childhood friend, the one that understood and knew his pain of losing his mother, spiritually sensitive and yet put to the side completely. Such a shame, she could have been a great addition to the team as a fullbring, but i think her personality would have had too much overlap with Rukia.
that scene where tatsuki punched ichigo through a window was so fucking impactful and when it happened in the manga it really made me hope that she was going to become more involved in the story 😢
Give me a Tatsuki spin off where she goes to college abroad, somehow got mixed up with the witches and became one herself, but she still punches things but in a witch uniform. It can then get tied into the hell arc or something as a cross over. That'll be pretty cool imo.
I just realized that there were legitimate shinigami that COULDN'T sense Aizen's spiritual pressure but she COULD. She could have actually been pretty powerful considering that fact.
@@lilchristuten7568 "I can't sense his riatsu" was said a lot from the Shinigami when they were fighting him. This was due to him literally being on a whole other level after the Hogyoku infusion. This became relevant when Ichigo went Final Getsuga and Aizen couldn't sense HIS anymore.
@@indigo_tribe I was referring to Tasuki being able to feel his reiatsu. Actually Aizen couldn't feel Ichigo's reiatsu at all before he used the final getsuga.
@@lilchristuten7568 that proves my point. She COULD feel his. So her perception of riatsu could be over captain level which is weird and potentially a mistake which is what my comment was about. She could potentially be a crazy powerful Shinigami
Tatsuki has always seemed to me like a mix of Soi-Fon and Ururu, maybe even a substitute shinigami. If she was taken and trained by Urahara and Yoruichi she could have played a way bigger part
@@Rizingfz08i mean orihime and chad are humans too so what’s the issue w/ that also i hate how she got a solid build up in the first arc and got shoved under the rug a couple of times after that. even during the fullbring arc, you’d also think she would start getting suspicious about ichigo and chad sneaking around and at least try to confront them about what they been doing like she did that one time during the arrancar arc but alas
It honestly reflects real life. As you grow and get older the distance between you and those you were once close to expands. Not necessarily for good or bad reasons. It just happens because your life is taking you on a different than them. Maybe those paths will intersect again later, maybe they wont.
The unfortunate truth, but yeah, life does work in strange ways for people to meet once and leave each other’s lives the next. It’s such a simple, yet relatable aspect to these characters, which might be why us readers/watchers can somewhat get attached to their lives because, to some extent, we’re also like them, humans.
Precisely. Every main (maybe aside from Renji) got their own personal arcs throughout the series. What was gonna be Tatsuki's? Ppl who claim that she was the """"biggest"""" wasted potential just wanted her to be a girl boss character that was gonna sass the shinigamis and nothing else. The kkids (and RR) had trauma to heal from, what was Tatsuki's healing gonna be about? No one can answer that, LOL
@@chanelmapendo3761if you need trauma to write a good character you ain't a good writer, those are good endearing qualities to start but not necessarily the only way to write a character. I don't personally think she needs to be in the story but your idea that she would have no arc just because she had no clear teauma shown to us is not good enough reason.
Tatsuki should have had a place amongst the gang. I could see her using her karate skills to fight off hollows or maybe have her be a fullbringer in some way. But we just never see it and its hella sad to see how she ended up
I think Tatsuki would have been a perfect long term, even behind the scenes, apprentice to Yoruichi. Maybe even having an awareness of Yoruichi's human form before the others. Then as things progress, have Tatsuki be directly involved in the Arancar arc with her newfound techniques from Yoruichi, even if she doesn't know fully what's going on. Ultimately I think Tatsuki would have been the perfect personification of Humanities spiritual nature, not a fullbring, not a quincy, just a human. Then as the series progressed you could have Tatsuki be the one who acts as the core for Ichigo feeling safe to leave on missions, because even if he's not there, Tatsuki is. Basically keep their close relationship as a trusted partner. Then in the final arc have her show off her own version of Shunko, defending humans against the quincy in some way.
The more I think about it, she feels like The World of The Living version of Kukaku. Maybe it’s her character design or her outwardly gruff attitude but fierce loyalty and love for her friends. While also waiting for both to get more screen time only to be disappointed Edit: I swear I typed all this literally before he mentioned the parallel between Tatsuki and Kukaku 😭😭
Fascinating that you did a topic on this character. All the points you laid out I had thought throughout my initial read of the bleach manga. I felt like Tatsuki was being set up to have a full bring at some point but it never arrived. Even at the beginning of the series, during the initial arc I thought that Tatsuki was being set up to have her power manifest but Kubo subverted us, out of nowhere, by giving it to Orihime. I always expected Kubo to correct that because Orihime didn't have any real showings during the Soul Society Arc and I knew she was out of place as a combatant even back then. Plus, Kubo set up all of Ichigo's highschool friends so you would think he'd do something with them. But then he focused on the Shinigami exclusively and we got what we got. Chad still got done dirtier though.
I bet that Kubo couldn't figure out a way to catch her up to speed and getting her powers without it feeling forced. I hope that it turns out she inadvertantly befriended the two Soul Reapers from the TYBW arc or something. That'd be a fun little anime only scene at the end of the series where Ichigo catches them hanging out or something.
Ichigo went from a mere human to Captain level in no time, yes Ichigo is a fusion of a hundred different races, but at the time of the Soul Society arc nobody knew that, if Tatsuki trained for 4 or 5 weeks with Urahara and returned at the level of a lieutenant it wouldn't be absurd, just give the excuse that she, like Ichigo, has enormous latent potential. The biggest drag on a story is not power but narrative. Narrative > Powerscaling My bet is that Kubo didn't find a place for her in the Bleach story, or maybe he had a place for her in the story, but if he were to move forward there would be too many characters for him to deal with if he put Tatsuki in, especially if he did with her what he really wanted to do. An example of this is Naruto, which had several powerful secondary characters, some like Neji who after the time-skip became Jonin, but all were abandoned because, in Kishimoto's own word, he found no place for them in Naruto's history. Power is never an impediment in fictional stories.
Always like Tatsuki as a character, but I've been on the fence as to whether or not she should have actual powers. One one hand, it would be really cool to see what she could do as a soul reaper or a full-bringer, but on the other hand, you could wind up with a type of situation where virtually everyone has powers with "questionable" ways of acquiring them. I would have liked to have seen Tatsuki and the other side characters do more, but I get why they didn't as it could make seem forced to some people.
kubo is too talented at making cool and interesting characters for his own good. So many missed opportunities and characters that deserve more spotlight.
Kubo clearly had more in mind with the whole of Ichigo's friend group, but dropped it early. He seems to just create new characters with a heavy hint of importance and then they slowly fade from the narrative into nothingness. I remember feeling this with the new kid at the beginning of the Thousand Year Blood War, who I would have guessed would be Ichigo's apprentice, but then he is never seen after a dozen chapters later.
yeah it was weird for that newbie soul reaper to be introduced and then just later on disappeared. Maybe it might be different in anime, but I wouldn't count on it. I mean when the anime came returned was something like new audience meeting a long time hero after not being seen for so long, but back then the series was still going. Like what was the purpose for that set up.
Yeah. He even got a cover where Ichigo is behind him with a hoodie. It feeled like Kubo wanted something like a succesor from ichigo but dropped the ball inmediately.
@@ChamadzeroI always thought it was less of a successor and more of a "younger brother" type thing. Between how they interact, and how the newbie seems to idolize Ichigo, it always felt like a "I'll show up when I'm needed, but you need to wipe your own ass" kind of relationship 😂
Yes that was frustrating. I feel like he would introduce awesome characters but then gradually show them less and less. And every arc he would bring a whole new cast but gradually stop showing the other characters.
YES, I was hoping you would do a video on Tatsuki! Rewatching the first few arcs of Bleach relatively recently, it became more obvious to me than ever before that she really was set up to become a major character, and then was completely abandoned. Very weird, especially in light of a few moments later in the series that also teased her becoming more relevant, yet were never followed up on. Just a really weirdly handled character in general.
Would have been interesting to see what could have been if Bleach had remained a Hollow of the week series instead of becoming 90% about Soul Society’s internal intrigue.
I wonder if Tatsuki was meant to be a more prominent character originally, but Kubo realized he enjoyed writing and drawing all the other main characters more.
Something I didn't notice until now, Tatsuki has no problem seeing shinigami in full without any connections to them Maybe she's the next 'substitute shinigami' if something were to happen to Ichigo or someone they're keeping an eye on for a member of the gotei when she does pass away as a human
Tatsuki should've been apart of Ichigo's crew. Would love if she could gain powers that boots her physical attributes because they needed someone who just throw hands and Tatsuki was already a powerful human in the series.
Honestly, if they had Tatsuki too, maybe Kubo would have given the human characters a few 3 v 1 fights or something. Like, I don't need them to be as strong as the Captains, I'd be happy if Chad, Orihime and Tatsuki together just barely beat 1 Sternritter in the TYBW but got to be cool doing so. Instead of Chad fighting infinite golems off-screen...
I agree that Tatsuki had such great promise as character .One of Ichigo's Longest time friends ,is skilled fighter ,determined ,confident ,and had will to fight to protect her friends and family .Yet she was ignored .
Yeah, I've got to agree with you. When you really think about, Tatsuki really showed promise and potential right from the jump. It's a real shame Kubo didn't act on it more aggressively. She struggle getting used to it, but she'd definitely fit with Ichigo's crew wielding powers of her own.
Would have loved for Urahara and Yoruichi to train her in Hakuda and the tools to enhance her physical cqc style. Her being able to use various tools would play off her intelligence too along with her physical capabilities highlighting her prowess
He said when fighting ichigo he could’ve feel his spiritual pressure. Just like others couldn’t feel his like ichigo father unless he lowered his spiritual pressure to their level of awareness
After Shunsui gave Tatsuki & the others those tickets to visit the Soul Society, I always had the feeling that they’d be brought back into the story somehow. Not that I’d expect them to do much (they’d essentially be the crew during the soul society arc again), but just the fact that they were even aware of spiritual pressure during Fake Karakura Town arc got my hopes up a bit. If bleach were a seinen instead of a shounen, I would appreciate a little side story of seeing the human characters during the times the others are in Soul Society. It would’ve been nice seeing Tatsuki watching over Yuzu & Karin (a lil story about Tatsuki running into Karin and helping the Karakura Superheroes would be so fun) or to get more on Tatsuki’s thoughts about Orihime’s growth & maturity. Like did Tatsuki feel like she was drifting apart from Ichigo & Orihime?
The anime may take a more Seinen approach now that they can show blood and abit of gore thanks to todays anime/manga leaning senien not just shounen anymore.
@@mray4784 ok? Didnt say that specifically. Shounen and Seinen can go hand on hand. Seinen is classified as more adult dark themes than lighthearted ones. Its like comparing MHA(standard shounen) to Beserk(darker mature themes seinen. Theres alot of discussion when it comes shounen vs seinen that i wont explain as there are plenty of videos about that. But like even Demon slayer that has blood and sad unfair backstories, its target audience is for younger kids not just adults, ive clarify it as MHA shounen level even.
When this guy describes a story - it's captivating. He would've made an outstanding English teacher reading literature to fully listening students. Glad you're doing this instead.
In a way she did get a somewhat happy ending opening her own Karate dojo by WDKALY. Ichigo's human friends and their situation with Aizen showed how strong their friendship is with their mutual cooperation and making sure one another where OK with serious survival instinct. It shows the jarring contrast between normal humans vs OP Spirits who either want more and more power or to set the ways of the world regardless. Peaceful normalcy vs deadly change/status quo.
All right Tommo! I remember us briefly talking about this video possibly being a thing like..a year ago? You finally did it! Sick. I swear I'd love a reimagining of bleach. I feel like there are so many stories that could still have been told.
As someone who was always in love with Ichigo's original circle of friends, i appreciate this video. Keigo was always my favourite character outsode of Ichigo and Rukia until Renji’s backstory, where Renji stole #1 and kept it for 15 years and counting. I've been rereading bleach and I felt equally invigorated and frustrated by how much i felt validated with how charming Ichigo's classmates were, but also sad that they would fall to the wayside. Kubo's greatest strength and weakness is that hes a genius when it comes to creating charming characters and effortlessly weaving webs of history between them. The interpersonal relationships of characyers in Bleach is immaculate. But theres so many of them and only so much screentime...
To be honest I hope they kill her in the Hell Arc. Makes her significant again since one of Ichigos oldest friends fucking dies. Goes to Soul Society; already had enough strength to become a seated officer. Maybe even Squad 11 due to her combat experience and attitude. Boom revelant
I'd actually love to see a video where you speculate what powers that the human characters potentially could have had if they were Fulbringer's/secret Shinigami.
It feels like Tatsuki shows innate spiritual power as a human, just lacking the ability to wield it, like Ichigo at first. Either lacking the key or the lock itself by not having been born to a soul reaper or not experiencing a transfer of power to awaken her own latent powers. If she did, I believe she could have been a competent substitute soul reaper or something like a fullbringer at least.
Man, this made me sad, Tatsuya was always one of my favorite characters and I really hate how she developed similarly to Chad and Orihime but just never got a spotlight
Shame the editors had to tell Kubo to speed things up and get the main cast to the Soul Society, and I do really enjoy Orihime and Chad. It's a shame Tatsuki didnt get much beyond inbetween sections of arcs, and a few scenes in the fullbringer arc. And the only time the other human characters get strong is the Karakura Superhero filler episodes lol
I can’t help but think Kubo initially planned on Tatsuki being a main character fighter alongside Orihime, Chad, and Uryuu, but he scrapped that idea a portion of the way into the story. I could easily see Tatsuki being a full bringer like Chad and Orihime. With a Bleach continuation planned with the Hell Arc, maybe Tatsuki will get her time to shine.
I do feel like Tasuki should have had a more prominant role in the story given that she was ichigos main friend outside the main cast that had the power to see hollows also a small part of me has always thought ichigo should have got with her instead or Orihime or Rukia given that out of all his friends shes known him the longest and know things about Ichigo that not even orihime or chad know in the begining like him being weak as a kid and knowing about his mothers death it wouldve been cool if she had deveopled fullbring powers like Chad and Orihime
Ok no one gets shotgun on a certain character just because they have something special that connects their bond. That goes for Orihime and Rukia as well. Was there potential yeah sure, they all did. But knowing one thing than the other candidates dont doesnt give that person the go they should be together lol I think the progression was natural, Tatsuki unfortunately wasnt on par with the main crew and it sucks because distance does seperate friends and bonds. Although i could get behind Tatsuki and Ichgio ship, I prefer ships that arent with best friends or the first person they meet because that not always the case when it comes to romance. Love changes afterall, 1st love is always an experiment in which it could be a crush infatuation and not a genuine love. So I am bias i prefer when mc go for someone else then the 1st person they meet or the best friend, plenty of fish in the sea and plenty of time given their youths to meet different people feel different versions of love and not be bogged down by that narrow mind in which they first start with. Ofc there are some stories that are done well with best friend love in which after theyve gone through their journey met different people loved in different ways yet came back to the same person because all along is wo kept them grounded human sane and felt like "home" etc. Or it could go the other way in which they realized they werent compatible at all and it was more of a co dependent relationship, one sided, infatuation etc that the journey gave them growth to better themselves.
@@SemekiIzuio the whole basis for Kubo putting Rukia and Renji together was because like Ichigo and Tatsuki they were childhood friends so by that logic Ichigo and Tatsuki should have ended up together because they were childhood friends to because hes known Tatsuki longer than Orihime who he only knew since highschool
I always felt Tatsuki should have become a full bringer and Joined the gang. With her natural fighting ability you could easily explain her powering up to the levels of Chad by time the TYBW arc.
I always thought Chad and Tatsuki should have been swapped since she was designed to be an active, trained fighter, outgoing character with long standing connections to Ichigo and Orihime, while Chad is a passive, quiet character who's only connection to the group is sometimes he gets in fights and Ichigo helps, he's closer to his band mates then he is Ichigo at the start of the series. Chad feels like he was designed to be a background character while Tatsuki could have had far more fun banter, voiced ideas, and character development as she had years of trust and history built up with 2 other character allowing all 3 of them to open up to each other in serious moments or have in-jokes and call backs in lighter moments, where as Ichigo, Rukia, Uryu, Chad, and Orhimie are mostly just acquaintances at the start. Then you add on Tatsuki training in martial arts near her whole life and it would make sense for her to train in any abilities she gains, probably with Kisuke, Tessai, or Yoruichi, and just like before when she learned black belt level karate Orihime is going to be there with her getting stronger to, which means they can both keep a better pace though the series instead of become irrelevant.
I remember every season watching bleach and waiting to have Tatsuki finally awaken some powers and have a bigger role only to be always disapointed. She was an accomplished martial artist she would have been perfect, she could have been trained by Yoruichi.
Given Tatsuki's martial arts background, I would have liked to see her get powers and be trained by a hand-to-hand combatant like Kensei. I always saw Mizuiro as a quick-witted guy and would have liked it if he had become Kisuke's disciple.
Yeah instead of the old lady at his job lol like she was so random when we meet her and unnecessary, she didnt even feel motherly at all of that was Kubos goal. More of a comfort but something Tatsuki could have given Ichigo by doing a human activity like martial arts. I would have liked for them to have are match as adults.
@@iwaynewalker2456 yes they were but Tatsuki character was already established, we didnt need another character to be created and have yet another one be lost in the sea of characters bleach has.
During the invasion arc she was ( with the costume on ) easily defeating a variety of hollows. Also whether it was a just a one off or not the fact she was able to sense Aizen at all has a lot of implications
People talking about Kubo abondoning characters and they forgot some times an character don't really is fit to things that is happening, think about kuwabara, when Yusuke go to the yokai world kuwabara stayed in the human world because even if he is one of the most powerfull humans at that point in the history, he alread have plans for his life and its dont involve him fighting yokais for the rest of his life
I honestly think originally the show was gonna be a hollow of the week manga about ichigo and his friends but the popularity of the shinigami took over the show and Kubo shifted cuz Tatsuki was really close to orihime and ichigo then she just in a flash became irrelevant like a lot of characters. I think kubo just responded to what fans started asking for more shinigami
I think the first arc was always just setup, but I agree that the original crew were probably supposed to be a lot more relevant overall. But it's hard to come up with a threat to Karakura Town that they can interact with that can also make Bankai Ichigo struggle, and resetting Ichigo like with Xcution that early on would have made readers call bullshit.
When you talked about Aizen destroying humans with his presence, I remembered the drunk man who woke up and saw Aizen. Can normal humans see Aizen in this form, or is it because they are in the soul society? By the way, the video is awesome. I really would like it if Kubo could shed more light on Tatsuki and give her a more decent role in the story.
Honestly Tatsuki was the badass of the group of friends. She was already a hotheaded fighter when it comes to protecting the things she care about. They really missed the mark with her.
I remember that Shinigami Tatsuki picture from back in primary school. You mean to tell me that's official Kubo art?! Mannnnnn, Tatsuki really got a raw deal. 😭
I think the most interesting part is that Tatsuki could actually sense Aizen. We just had an entire fight where they kept mentioning that no one but Ichigo could feel his power.
I listen to a podcast called " into the seireitei" and they just discussed how tatsuki got the shirt end of the stick. I love this video, she should have got so much more
I never expected a video on Tatsuki of all people, but I fully support what you’re saying. I dunno, she always felt like the one who was left behind. With her personality, she would’ve fit in alongside the main cast, perhaps as a Fullbringer
I actually did a DnD game years ago in the bleach world that featured Tatsuki as the main guide character. I had in fact made her a soul reaper who had gotten secret training from yoroichi and would commonly throw punches into her swordsmenship and her shikai were knuckle dusters.
I fully think Tatsuki was going to have a bigger role in the Arrancar Arc, but it was already quite a lengthy arc and to have her have a proper role, or even to explain any powers she could get, would take too long and Kubo decided to skip that idea, and there was never another proper opportunity.
I want to know more about Chizuru Honsho. We know nothing about her after the events of the Fake Karakura Town arc. She had a huge crush on Orihime, but Orihime obviously ended up with Ichigo. Did Chizuru find love? Did she end up happy? Did she live a long life? I know she's a tertiary character at best, but I always liked her design, those glasses and red hair. Characters are one of Bleach's strongest points, and seeing a lot of the early "side" characters get ignored is really disappointing.
Its weird i feel bad for her its like she slowly disconnected from her friends, like she new orihime and ichigo much longer and seperately than they knew eachother and now they went off doing things without her, just damn i feel for tatsuki, a very real character
Totally true. Sado\Chad is still the biggest forgotten character (that video was great). He got power ups, featured early in the Fullbring arc, then, he did nothing. The guy was the first one to "take on" captain for God's sake
She is probably my favorite friend of Ichigo's and one that I think Lady Yoruichi would have loved to have around and could have maybe been her version of Lady Yoruchi in their group. But that's just me wishing at that point
one thing that would have been amazing would have been tatsuki actually dying during the fullbringer arc, so she could fully become a shinigami by the tybw, since she has enough spiritual power to perceive aizen and be in his presence as a human, she surely would have significant potential as a shinigami.
Couldn’t agree more, and also underused are Ichigo’s sisters and Mizuiro. At least videos like this make us see what could have been, and hopefully Kubo will have another chance in the Hell arc!
Thank you for this one! I always felt like she should’ve gotten powers during the first arc or atleast going into the Fullbringer arc. I never thought about her powers coming from her Gi and now I want that so bad! I would’ve been down for her and Ichigo to be Co-soul reapers.
I completely agree would have loved to see more from her character she's probably my fave of Ichigo's school friends and since Ichigo and her were like best friends would have wanted a bit from her in the story but maybe like you said in the hell arc she can make a comeback!!
Crazy thoughts I had in the middle of the night: Tatsuki, Yoruichi and Kukaku, were always my favorite female characters in Bleach, but now that I think about it, maybe I'm going crazy, but the 3 seem to be the same type of character, I don't know, there's something about them that connects them but I don't know what is it, it's as if spiritually they are somehow the same character. Not only that, but even the introduction of the 3 characters is a sequel to each other, a continuation. The first to be introduced is Tatsuki, when Ichigo's group leaves Earth to go to Soul Society, they leave Tatsuki behind but when they arrive in Soul Society they find Kukaku, when they enter Seireitei they leave Kukaku behind, but they win Yoruichi, who finally reveals her identity to everyone. I think it's something about their personalities, or the way Kubo draws them in certain scenes. I don't know, I have no idea.
I feel Ichigo's sisters are the ones who got the worst of it more so Karin. I don't know why but she is one of my fav characters. But I really agree with you and this vid.
She was my favorite of ichigos friends growing up and when I saw the anime they teased her having some spiritual awareness but it never lead to anything I was hoping for to get a power up of some sort even small and running with don konoji
I also wanted to know what happened to her, they made her seem like she could've had a chance at helping Ichigo and the group later on in the anime in some parts. She felt like she had potential but I guess the writer just gave up on her.
Kenkaku and Tatsuki should’ve been merged into one character. Tatsuki has been secretly keeping tabs on Ichigo family because of his and his dads relationship to the shiba clan. Then when rukia comes, she’s forced to reveal herself in later episodes. Possibly as Rukia sensing another Shinigami and assuming they’re there to hunt her only to realize it’s a new ally with an edge - Tatski is the human gigai of Kenkaku Shiba. Her fighting style could be using fireworks and crazy Kido and her shikai and bankai could be karate themed. Hercules move set from budokai comes to mind. Dynamite Punch/Dynamite Kick??????
The reason why ichigo fights is why I cant stop reading for the past 16 years! The friends and family in Bleach are so real, its understandable why ichigo would throw his life away in an instant for any of them.
31:20 I just realized… TATSUKI’S POTENTIAL WAS CRAZY! SHE COULD FEEL AIZEN’S POWER! Yet Urahara, Yourishi and Ishin couldn’t feel his spiritual energy.
A lot of stuff could have been explored but the endless series of boss fights and training montages were needed to keep the viewers at a steady rate.... although it would have been nice to help build up spin off series in shounen manga so we won't need to dump lore and squeeze in screen time for every new arc and character development.

I always hoped for Tatski to get like flying hermes boots. She seems like someone who needs a mobility abilitie. She should have been part of the original rukia rescue team
I find her way more interesting than Orihime, especially when it comes to her relationship with Ichigo.
I feel like by the Hell arc, she's got to have something that gives her capabilities beyond a normal human.
I'm not sure what it would be exactly, but I want her to meet Kūkaku and see where that leads lol.
I could see kubo or someone doing a spin-off / one shot about her and her paranormal experiences due to her powers. More slice of life than anything
Should have been a fullbringer.
Let's not forget that Tatsuki started out as Ichigo's friend, with Orihime simply being a girl he knew through her.
No
@@lolsnez7542 yes, Tatsuki and Ichigo knew each other since they were children. Fun Fact, in the pilot chapter for Bleach Orihime is actually dead, Ichigo helps her move on. and Rukia fits in his pocket.
@@lolsnez7542 Yes!
Oh shit you right!!
My favorite of Ichigo’s human friends. She seemed so cool and had a close relationship with ichigo, just behind chad and orihme.
Tatsuki felt a lot braver, intelligent and strong willed than the others. She wasn't crude like Hiyori, but she wasn't passive like Orihime either. She felt like she had some potential she was never allowed to reach for.
She even recognized ichigo's spirit pass going off when no one should have been able to, and yet she's not even given a chance to be a ranger
Actually, Tatsuki was Ichigo's friend, Orihime was just her friend that Ichigo knew. But as the series progessed, Orihime also became a close friend to Ichigo. But she started out as just someone he knew through Tatsuki.
She definitely had a better relationship than the other two at first.
@@iReiGNxxexactly. The other 2 only FELT closer cause they were carried along in the story
I think Ichigo's sisters were not fleshed out enough. They were hinted to have powers since the beginning of the manga but it just never went anywhere.
My thoughts exactly
They got a bunch of filler stuff in the anime at least
im glad it went nowhere
I've always got the Vibe that she would be trained by Yoruichi or Soi-fon.
They're both voiced by Wendee Lee in the English dub.
She even recognized ichigo's spirit pass going off
Personally I think she was supposed to be the one who joined Xcution and not Chad at all but it was too complicated to develop a whole new power set so Kubo just went “yeah so this is actually how Chad works” instead
She really should’ve awaken some sort of fullbring power around then, maybe even Keigo too, kinda wanted to see more of him. 😭
That would have been nice to say
My idea is that Ichigo close friends (minus Orihime and Chad), had gained awareness or consciousness of non-human beings like hollows and shinigami due to the influence of Ichigo's power, or probably the hogyoku when it was inside Rukia. However they didn't gain power because they were not fullbrings.
Tatsuki left a much larger impression on me than her screen time would suggest. Despite having no significant fights and contributing very little to the overall story, she was one of my favorite characters and her relationship with the main cast was fantastically written.

I completely agree! Tatsuki is one of my top 5 favorite characters in the entire series. She had SO much potential that was never explored.
that scene where tatsuki punched ichigo through a window was so fucking impactful and when it happened in the manga it really made me hope that she was going to become more involved in the story 😢
Aizen lowered it to their level of understanding
I actually don't remember that happening. I thought they just saw someone who got close to him turn to ash and then realized that he was dangerous.

@@ironrevenger9386 that would've been cool, but it also would've been hilarious in the dub since they're voiced by the same person.
Reflecting reality isn't always the best writing decision though
It more so reflects shitty writting
While also waiting for both to get more screen time only to be disappointed
Edit: I swear I typed all this literally before he mentioned the parallel between Tatsuki and Kukaku 😭😭
Narrative > Powerscaling
My bet is that Kubo didn't find a place for her in the Bleach story, or maybe he had a place for her in the story, but if he were to move forward there would be too many characters for him to deal with if he put Tatsuki in, especially if he did with her what he really wanted to do.
@briankao6833 do you remember the name of that character? Or what chapters they were in for the life of me I can't remember
Tasuki definitely needed to be used more, she is such a cool characters that had great potential. Wish more was done with her.
Something I didn't notice until now, Tatsuki has no problem seeing shinigami in full without any connections to them
Maybe she's the next 'substitute shinigami' if something were to happen to Ichigo or someone they're keeping an eye on for a member of the gotei when she does pass away as a human
Tatsuki should've been apart of Ichigo's crew. Would love if she could gain powers that boots her physical attributes because they needed someone who just throw hands and Tatsuki was already a powerful human in the series.

Not just tatsuki, I really want to see jinta and ururu

Making all of Ichigo’s friends Fullbringers would of been a bold/interesting choice. I wish we could’ve seen it.
I hope Kubo-sensei develops her in the Hell arc as well as Ichigo's sisters. Karin has lots of potential to become a great shinigami.
That's what I was hoping as well.
i see zero chance of that happening. she will be seen helping ghost pass on but will probably be more of a hostage
@ddd6792 Is the hell arc actually going to happen?
I particularly thought that tatsuki were more a match for Ichigo rather than Orihime, if anything you could pair her with uryu
And let my boy uryu stay with orihime then XD
Ok no one gets shotgun on a certain character just because they have something special that connects their bond. That goes for Orihime and Rukia as well. Was there potential yeah sure, they all did.
But knowing one thing than the other candidates dont doesnt give that person the go they should be together lol
I think the progression was natural, Tatsuki unfortunately wasnt on par with the main crew and it sucks because distance does seperate friends and bonds.
@@SemekiIzuio Idc I'll always love a good childhood friends romance.
@@undeade.t7044 ok? We are talking about Ichigo though right? Ichigo who is the mc?
I always felt Tatsuki should have become a full bringer and Joined the gang. With her natural fighting ability you could easily explain her powering up to the levels of Chad by time the TYBW arc.
In anime the childhood friend usually dosent get the mc at the end. In bleach she dosent even get to be in the main cast.
I feel like she should’ve got her big moment in the fulbring arc, helping Ichigo get through his mental state as a close friend of his.
Yeah instead of the old lady at his job lol like she was so random when we meet her and unnecessary, she didnt even feel motherly at all of that was Kubos goal. It always didn’t feel right to me how it seemed like she was poised to play a bigger role and it just didn’t happen…
During the invasion arc she was ( with the costume on ) easily defeating a variety of hollows.
Also whether it was a just a one off or not the fact she was able to sense Aizen at all has a lot of implications
I always thought Tatsuki was suppose to have a larger role in the story. As well as thinking her being a fullbringer would’ve made soooo much sense
I don't think Bleach was ever supposed to be only what it was in the Agent of the Shinigami arc. It was always building up towards something more.
So much of the early characters went hard, and then Kubo was like, “Hold up, I got like 50 more ideas.”

Didn't he lower it
What an amazing topic for a video, great job as always Tom ❤
I LOVE WHEN MR TOMMO UPLOOOOOOOAAAAADS
I fully think Tatsuki was going to have a bigger role in the Arrancar Arc, but it was already quite a lengthy arc and to have her have a proper role, or even to explain any powers she could get, would take too long and Kubo decided to skip that idea, and there was never another proper opportunity.
I agree. She IS my favorite of the outside characters. She was so tough but knew so much. I do wish there was more of her.
Been waiting on the next forgotten characters video
Couldn’t agree more, and also underused are Ichigo’s sisters and Mizuiro. At least videos like this make us see what could have been, and hopefully Kubo will have another chance in the Hell arc!
Been thinking about this alot recently, good video
I asked about this about a month ago! Probably wasn't my comment that brought this, but for it anyways I'll finally subscribe.
Another underrated bae. Kubo just nails it almost always. 😁
Thank you for this one! I always felt like she should’ve gotten powers during the first arc or atleast going into the Fullbringer arc. I never thought about her powers coming from her Gi and now I want that so bad! I would’ve been down for her and Ichigo to be Co-soul reapers.
Another mr.tommo leacture my favorite part o the day (forgot a m)
Tatsuki arisawa is my favourite character i have print vest and tshirt of her and i cosplay her in school uniform
I completely agree would have loved to see more from her character she's probably my fave of Ichigo's school friends and since Ichigo and her were like best friends would have wanted a bit from her in the story but maybe like you said in the hell arc she can make a comeback!!
Crazy thoughts I had in the middle of the night:
Tatsuki, Yoruichi and Kukaku, were always my favorite female characters in Bleach, but now that I think about it, maybe I'm going crazy, but the 3 seem to be the same type of character, I don't know, there's something about them that connects them but I don't know what is it, it's as if spiritually they are somehow the same character.
But I really agree with you and this vid.
that shot of tatsuki and ichigo beat up sitting together shouldnt have made me so emotional 😭
Early Bleach hit different. I like modern Bleach but old Bleach is an entirely different story
Aizen was lowering his spiritual pressure so they could sense it and get scared.
@@plantcrone9662 yeah it's this.
A lot of stuff could have been explored but the endless series of boss fights and training montages were needed to keep the viewers at a steady rate.... although it would have been nice to help build up spin off series in shounen manga so we won't need to dump lore and squeeze in screen time for every new arc and character development.
Two characters I’d like to see you do forgotten characters videos on are Chōjirō Sasakibe and Ashido Kanō
