I have had this iron for over a year and it is still going strong. We only use distilled water in all of our irons and we have never had any issues with brownish water coming out of it. It is a heavy iron, though. Heavier than I expected. But, absolutely so handy to use no matter how you turn it. I love the points on each end. Great iron!!
Yes, thanks for pointing that out! We always use distilled waters in our irons and it helps the life of the irons. The points on each end are one of our favorite features. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! - Morgan
You missed 2 very important features. The base does not heat, only the iron. Which makes the base easy to move even if the iron is hot. You showed how to remove the water tank, but you didnt mention that it is safe to fill while on the iron (no electrical worries).
Hi Lynn! I've found a great article for you on how to clean your iron: www.homedepot.com/c/ah/how-to-clean-an-iron/9ba683603be9fa5395fab901b0960e4 You can also check the manufacturer instructions! Thank you for watching! Please let us know if you have any other questions! - Sophie
Hi MrBritrider - This Panasonic is the 1500w one. Since we repeatedly place the iron back on the base unit while we reposition our fabrics, we're not able to adequately answer "how long does it stay fully hot until it has to back on the dock". You can view our current selection of Panasonic 360 irons here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/c5288 -Michelle
Looks like a great iron but I’m curious. If you need to stop ironing for a second, can the iron sit vertically unassisted on a table or does it have to go back to its docking station?
It doesn't stand up vertically (we've forgotten and tried - haha) but you do get used to setting it back in the docking station. It becomes a natural movement. - Morgan
I have one also. Mine is purple too. ( my favorite color) it works wonderfully. I have the auto shut off so if you forget it on, there will be no worries
Hi newbeequilter - It's probably okay to use an extension cord with the cord on the base, but there's no place to plug the iron in. Hope this makes sense! -Michelle
I love your videos and have made several things from them. The Panasonic seems nice but I saw you using a smaller pink cordless one in one of your videos and now I can’t seem to find it again. How was it in comparison to this one. I’ve read where the tank is not quite big enough so maybe I might like the smaller pink one. My oliso iron steam button has died and I’m in need of a good quilting and sewing iron.
A lot of quilters or sewists don't even use the steam in their irons. They just have a spray bottle handy. Pat Sloan has a spray bottle she bought and it is a very fine mist and easy on the hands to use. She demonstrated it during one of her recent videos. Check it out, you might like that alternative. At least, until you really want to buy a new iron.
Thank you for watching and commenting! Honestly, we love both of those irons, and they're useful for different reasons. They're both great for travel and are easy to use. The pink iron is ideal for smaller projects or appliqué pieces, but you really can't go wrong either way. We have both, we love both, and we use both daily! Here's a link to the little pink iron on our site so you can learn more: www.shabbyfabrics.com/clover-wedge-iron-P65527.aspx We also have a video similar to this one on it that you can watch (click the link above and the video is on that page!) Good luck! Let us know what you decide! - Morgan
I'm seriously thinking about buying it iron I just want to know how long it stays hot before you have to charge it again cuz I bought one of these but I stupidly went cheap route and I got what I purchase which was a cheap piece of shit I sent it back and I'm seriously thinking of getting this one I mean if for no other reason than it's a ceramic plate
Hi Deanna - Since we repeatedly place the iron back on the base unit while we reposition our fabrics, we're not able to adequately answer "how long does a charge last". -Michelle
On my wish list :) Don't want to wait for the demise of my Oliso lol....it lives on, and on.... I gave up waiting. An addition wouldn't be so bad...I keep telling myself hahaa
Terry, I have both irons. I keep the Panasonic right next to my sewing machine on a table that my husband customized into a pressing station for me---I just need to swivel my chair. And, the Oliso iron stays on the wide ironing board across the room.
We've used both irons as well, and have found that we prefer the cordless feature of the Panasonic. It sounds like Vicki has the right idea - set up a couple stations and use both! ;) An addition wouldn't be bad, we agree! - Morgan
Thanks for your reply and the information I needed. 20 to 30 minutes seems a long time to stay hot enough to iron, but seeing as you have one you should know. Thanks again for the reply :)
I never worried about that as I keep the base close by and just place the iron in the base as I am done pressing inbetween sewing. It does last quite a while though!!
Yes! We just found that we were reaching for the Panasonic much more often, and it's been so useful to bring to quilting retreats and on the road. Thank you so much for watching! - Morgan
I have this iron. It is one year and three months old. The warranty is only one year. It died, quit, does not work. I contacted Panasonic and they were down right rude and told me to go to the place I paid (paypal) and ask them if they offered a longer warranty. Yes, that was their solution. There is no repair on it, it just has to be thrown away. Panasonic like every other electronic is cheaply made in China. I realize things are not made to last long any more, however I do expect an Iron I paid over $100 for to work longer than it did. When it worked, I loved it, but .... It is just far too expensive to replace every year. Sorry to rain on your parade.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience, Susan. We haven't had those issues with the iron or with Panasonic, so we can't speak to that. We always contact the manufacturer for our customers if there is a problem with any of the products we sell, because we know it can be frustrating. Hoping you found a good solution for your sewing room. - Morgan
Unless you have the stats to back that up for a period of time you are speculating. If you read I DID go to the manufacturer and they told me to take a leap. Was it great when it worked? Yes, but I expect an expensive iron to last more than 15 months.
Gosh, that is a totally reason to buy anything thru "Shabby Fabrics". Thanks for sharing this information. I hope you write this info so all can see without checking all "replies".
I couldn't decide between the two and I ended up purchasing the Oliso. I love it! I've had it 4 years now. It was a tough decision to make as I would have loved the cordless feature. The Oliso is the hottest iron I have ever tried and makes my patchwork so perfect! Good luck deciding!
We've used both irons and prefer the Panasonic to the Oliso. The biggest selling point for us was the cordless feature. It's been great for all of our projects from patchwork to applique, and has been great on all of our wool projects. Good luck deciding! - Morgan
I did buy the Oliso first. Then read so many comments about the irons not working after a period of time. I still have it and it works fine. My hubby loves it, that is a plus for me!! lol But, if I had to make the choice over again, I think I would go with the Panasonic and for three reasons: 1. It gets really hot; 2. It is cordless and easier to use and; 3. The sharp points on each end which really helps with applique and any other project you need to get into those points to press!! I feel they are both heavy irons, at least, for me.
How long does a charge take ?? How long does a charge last ? How long is the chord ?? When you do review try to cover the bases !! You did nothing but iron a strip of clothes and said it was great !! Jesus Christ !!
Thank you for your feedback. The cord for the base is approximately 6ft long, but is retractable into the base for when not in use. The iron will take 2-3 minutes to warm up initially, and approx 10 seconds for a "recharge". Since we repeatedly place the iron back on the base unit while we reposition our fabrics, we're not able to adequately answer "how long does a charge last". We do still enjoy using our Panasonic 360 Freestyles for our projects. Hope that helps answer some of your concerns. -Michelle

Love mine. Bought 2 when they first came out. Sorry to say one went out after about 4 years. Still have a back up.
It's nice to have a backup of our favorite tools! :) Thanks for sharing! - Morgan
I have had this iron for a couple of years and I love, love it!
It really is a great iron! We're so glad you're still enjoying yours! Thank you for watching! - Morgan

I bought one color silver Panasonic model few years ago .This is my preferred and very usable to ironing, very practical .
So glad to hear you're enjoying yours! We love ours too, and we agree that it's a very practical iron! - Morgan
The outtakes lol yaaaas queens!
Thank you for watching! ~Leah
Thank you both. Your wonderful
Thank you for watching! - Sophie
I have the blue one and love it. You mentioned it is easy to clean. How do you clean it?
Hi Lynn! I've found a great article for you on how to clean your iron: www.homedepot.com/c/ah/how-to-clean-an-iron/9ba683603be9fa5395fab901b0960e4

Is this iron 1500 or 2400 watts as advertised on Amazon? Also, how long in seconds or minutes dose it stay fully hot until it has to back on the dock?

Penelope Button No it doesn’t stand up and you have to put it in it’s docking station. But if you get when you’re gonna love it

It will not stand on end. I bought a silicone mat. I keep the mat close to my ironning mat.
In seconds or minutes, how long does the iron stay fully hot until it ends to go back in the dock?
On my Christmas wish list! 😍 Oh, I love the outtakes!!
Hoping Santa is good to you this year! ;) Thanks for watching and commenting! - Morgan
Shabby Fabrics Thanks Morgan! ❤️
You're welcome! :) Let us know if you end up getting it! - Morgan
I guess I should have mentioned I have had one over a year and love it. Mine is purple.
It's such a great iron, and purple is a great color to use. - Morgan
I have one also. Mine is purple too. ( my favorite color) it works wonderfully. I have the auto shut off so if you forget it on, there will be no worries
Would love this iron, unfortunately it’s not available in the UK😢
Oh no! We do have it available on our website and we do ship to the UK! ~Leah
I like it. Hope I can afford it. I really want a rechargeable iron.
This iron is great! Thank you for watching! - Sophie
Can I use an extension cord with this?
Hi newbeequilter - It's probably okay to use an extension cord with the cord on the base, but there's no place to plug the iron in. Hope this makes sense! -Michelle
I just got one last week!! I LOVE IT!!!
Woo! That's so exciting! Thank you for sharing and watching! - Morgan
I love my iron. I had it over a year . My is red too.
Red is the best color to choose! ;) Thank you so much for watching! - Morgan
I ordered the pink one----but, I do love the color aqua!
Those are both excellent color choices! Pink is Jen's absolute favorite! - Morgan

Ebay
Omgosh! I want one! Do you think it's selfish to pray for an iron? 😊
I don't!! God does answer prayers~~
@@jimsqueenie He sure does! Amen to that!
haha, gosh I hope not, I am praying for the mega mat lol, you know for God to allow enough give in my budget to buy it lol
It's definitely NOT selfish to pray for an iron! ;) - Morgan
I will keep that in prayer for you!!

I love Panasonic products. Just wondering how long you can use the iron before you need to re-charge again?
I use a silicone mat and iron for 20 to 30 minutes before taking the iron back to the base. It stays hot for quite a while.

Oliso or this one. 😫
