It’s pretty clear from Seokjin’s interview that he underappreciates himself a lot and that makes me so sad bc he deserves to know how special his voice is and appreciate his own hardwork. He works so hard to be where he is now and his voice is one of a kind. I wish he could see that and appreciate himself more. After all, hard work always pays off. Seokjin, you did so well! I agree with you. Jin's solos are my favourite because I can feel emotions in his voice and I relate with the lyrics of his songs. It really made me surprised and a bit sad to see Jin being so hard on himself. I hope one day he realises how special he truly is.

Deserves to be lead vocalist
It’s so weird to me that Seokjin thinks his voice is not “emotional” or “powerful” because those are the exact words I always use to describe it. I get that he’s a humble person and suffers from insecurities like many of us but I wish it were easier for him to accept how amazing his voice truly is and how many people he’s moved with it. And Seokjin, you have THE widest vocal range in BTS, not “one of the widest”.
Also BigHit needs to do better if Seokjin is out here thinking that Butterfly, a song where he barely got proper lines, is the song that suits him best.
I hope we can see some solo activities for him soon because he isn’t given nearly enough within the group.
Jin actually has 'one of the' widest vocal ranges. J-hope has the widest range in BTS actually.

Yes. I agree that he has the widest range from the group. He actually can reach V's deep voice and jimin/jk's high notes. It's just that they have different ways on how to control their voices. He is my bias and it's sad to know that he under estimates himself when it comes to singing. And I also thought that he thinks that way knowing that he has the the shortest lines among the vocal line 🥺

Jin's voice is my favorite in BTS...It stands out ....He looks and sounds like an angel! I love all of the vocal line ...but those high notes and his distintive sound evokes strong emotions and warms my heart....and Jk's voice is not short-stepping! In fact, to me both voices are complimentary of each other ...and I wish they would collaborate on something...just the two of them!😊

The fact is that we when Jin says that he hides his dark side from the Army's and we often tell him that no he can share anything with us we will understand him . But when he does no one understands him . He always tires to be confident for us Army's but somewhere inside he is filled with self doubt. He tries to let it go with a smile outside for us but within he is this . This is time to understand him tell him that we stand by him and support him and love him . Encourage him as he encourages us that we are just awesome . Rather than taking out on him or being angry at him for saying such thing try to understand he is also a human at the end he also like us goes through phases of self doubt . What we are required to do it somehow convey to him that how emotional his voice is that it makes us cry everytime and how powerful his high notes are that it can make the ceiling break . His voice range is not uncertain his voice range is wide that it suits just every song .

Hoping that his management and members help him also realize this. Crossing my fingers the self-doubt is not coming from the fact that they tell him songs doesn't suit his voice or that they find another member who is better to sing a part..which is apparently their process. It makes sense but at some point they need to fight for variety in their songwriting to feature him as well.

I always cry whenever seokjin doesn't realize his worth. He should acknowledge that he is as talented as the other members. His voice not being powerful? Seokjin's voice impacts me the most in BTS, and never fails to make me emotional. When he doesn't realize the effect he has on ARMY, and how precious he is for everyone, it really hurts me. it's not that he didnt appreciate his voice n skill. But being surrounded by all the talented people sometimes could give a lot of pressures. Jin realise he doesnt have the same backround like the other. He literally started from zero. No matter how hard he works, sometimes time has a big factor. That's why JK is there. I really find Seokjin so witty, intelligent, multi-talented, selfless, loving, humble, diligent, smart...and of course WWH. His voice is soothing and his dancing is becoming impeccable. He is improving by the minute.
He's not being humble.. He just never realized his worth.. Awake was a song that keep me alive.. There was a time when life hit me hard and I was about thinking to end my life but Awake save me.. Jin voice save me that night.. I slept after wailing hard while holding the pills.. thats was a memory that I want to delete forever.. but I really want him to know how much his existence meant to all army..

In 2016 I was searching for mukbangs and then (what I came to learn was was eatJin) popped up. So I watched it, then searched up Jin and found out he was in a kpop band called BTS! Now they changed me for the better as I used to be so narrow minded and insincere is my actions and now I’d describe myself as a really nice and kind person. Jin is a vocal powerhouse, and he needs to start seeing this before I learn korean just to scold him 😂😭😔...

As a vocal teacher, Jin has one the best voices in the group. Now I’m not saying the rest of the guys don’t have talent, I’m just saying FOR ME his voice is so soothing and can go to so many ranges with ease and balance. He is an AMAZING vocalist. He should stand tall proud💜💜💜.

I think behind all of Jin's confidence, he's hiding a lot of insecurities. Just like a lot of people do, Jin is putting up a front not for himself but for us ARMY. Its because of their line distribution ,imagine getting less lines for almost 8years because pd always said that your voice not suite this song or part despite having large vocal range .and getting less lines in every genre of song whether its ballad or pop or anything .he clearly think his voice is not suitable for any song.

The fact is most people get less happiness from listening to Jungkook sing for the fortieth time (he still has an amazing voice) than when Jin gets approx. 2 secs. To be honest I almost cry when I heard Epiphany for the first time. All the raw emotion Jin poured in that song is just incredible. I'm glad Jungkook always be there to remind his hyung that he's an amazing person. Exactly , even if the members themselves decide on the line distribution, we cant expect him to be satisfied with his work all that much since theres very little contribution by him in many songs., I m glad he finally opened up regarding his view on this topic. Its easy to shrug off his deficit of lines by saying bts songs dont truly match his vocal palette but then when will it ? Its been so long into their career and the fact that he himself doesnt feel like he had a perfect vocal match with any of their songs says a lottt. Now all I can hope for is him feeling content with his handwritten words and his angelic voice

It's sad sometimes seeing jin unaware of how his voice has variety. His voice in Dionysus is low and chilling and in zero o'clock it's high and smooth,,, I love his range the most tbh

Jin's solo songs are my favourites: Epiphany, Awake, Yours, Moon, Abyss and Tonight, and Astronaut. I can't stop listening to them.

I find it sad that Jin says he cannot express emotions with his songs, yet his songs are my favorite because they evoke such strong emotions from me. I pray he will someday realize the impact his voice has on us. Love you, Jin!

Jin has a very emotional voice, that it really captivates all the feelings his songs/lines wanted to portray. Knowing the stories behind his songs makes it greater. That's why Abyss still breaks me, knowing that he came to a point of doubting his skills, if he is deserving of all these achievements. All of them are hardworking, but we know how he doubles all his efforts to match with his members. He knows his shortcomings, weaknesses but he still shows us his best. He only has love for us armys, his song Moon can testify to that so we need to appreciate Jin more.
Jin, we know you always work hard, you don't have to be alone in knowing the efforts you do. We see it ALL THE TIME. We will always support you.

@@Shreya-wm2of agree. Looking at how everytime Jin get the least LD and ST , he still shines and catch attention. Imagine he isnt treated this way. And army just stop giving him backhanded compliment because its unnecessary. If anyone should be blamed for this, it is the company and the fandom.
It's just saddening to know that there are people in the fandom that thinks Jin is dispensable, and always points out his weaknesses. Not only Jin gets this treatment but other members as well, especially the hyung line. He has said in their interviews how he viewed himself as less skilled because he knows how other people in the fandom think of him.
BTS won't be BTS if they're not 7. They won't be the BTS we know now if one of them is missing. Every one is a crucial part of the dynamics of the group and we know how each of them affects and contributes to the growth of another. Let's appreciate all the members. It's okay to have a bias but never downplay another member. Every one of them is unique and special.

They are having such a candid conversation. I also love that JK was constantly encouraging Jin whenever he put himself down

Because JK knows how hard Jin work is behind the scene. That's wht I love about their bond. They are always supporting each other. Just like Jin said all those years ago "you got my back n I got yours" 💜
Notice how respectful JK was the entire time. Usually he’s a bundle of energy that can’t sit still during interviews. He’s usually flexing his neck, bouncing his leg, fidgeting with his hands, but here is contained and concentrating on Jin hyung.

I dont think its like that .getting less lines for almost 8 years ,because in line distribution the management or( I don't know )thinks that your voice is not suitable for this part.even in butterfly ,which suits him well getting less lines in every genre of bts songs ,creates insecurity in him that his voice is not suitalbe for any song.
It hurts that Jin thinks his voice is not powerful and emotional because dear jinnie, your voice makes us feel things no other voice does! We all know that Seokjin's voice is more than simple and the fact he always seek to improve himself everyday is admirable. I love this conversation and how supportive Jungkook is. Also, hearing Seokjin speak casually as if we're not there (to me) is so comforting. The closest I can get to feel like I'm talking with him.

I came to comment section because I felt so sad seeing how Jin feeling how lacking he is. He does not realise that he is a powerhouse in BTS. Every member has their strengths and talents and Jin's vocal is definitely one of them. Epiphany is one of my favourites. I hope when he returns from military, he will not feel too pressured to excel and take his time to adjust and simply just feel happy to be with Army again.

This nearly brought me to tears, listening to Jin. The reason why I like him so much is because he stands out in his own way, and I wish he could see that. As much as he is funny and full of confidence, he hides his sadness and insecurities, and this interview is almost as honest as he can get. It breaks my heart to see him so discouraged about himself. If only he could see what we see.

I'm a new fan so I'm not as familiar with the guys, but after listening to this I wanted to pay more attention to Jin's voice. He became my favorite. I had already started listening to "Moon" on repeat not realizing it was Jin's song. He is underselling himself!! I hope as the years go by, he is able to see himself the way we do 💞

Moon is my favourite vocal line solo song. My bias is Jimin and i am obsessed with his voice but Moon hits me somehow more than Jimins songs.
Hi! glad to finally read that someone went through similar experience as me. I also found BTS through Jin's Moon. I got hooked by the song without knowing it was sung by BTS member Kim Seok Jin. When i listened to Butter, Jin's voice was the first one that caught my ears. Agreed to what JK said, Jin's voice is that voice of a 'young man', but to me it's distinct and 'raw/clean', kind of vocal i like bc it conveys many emotions. Then i found that the owner of the voice was similar person who sang Moon. The rest is history, now i'm a new fans of BTS and Jin become my bias. The fact that his voice that captured me first (i was not a kpop fan at that time but he made me convert, lol) rather than his looks and personality (which i found later on to be as amazing that made me declare him as my bias) speaks volume about his real potential. It just made me sad to know that he didn't get adequate lines and screen time that suit him in group setting. BTS is an amazing boyband, all of 7 are unique but harmonizing beautifully together. I'm glad Jin got many parts in Butter and PTD, but with what he actually have i truly think he can go really far. It just seems to me that he somewhat got 'restrained' (idk bc of his old image or people's opinion on him, cmiiw). I hope we can see more of his art before he got enlisted later on.

I can totally relate to Jin. He looks like a confident and bright person with no problems in the outside, but deep inside he has so many things in mind. Once he gets to sit with a person he's comfortable with he can open up his heart and all the things he is troubled with, or just the thoughts running in his mind. Sometimes we just need someone who is willing to listen and understand us. Im happy with how Jungkook interviewed him. For me Jin is very talented and humble. He is capable of so many things.
Just do your best love. Always look back to what you have achieved and strive to become a better version of yourself not someone else. Don't say that you're getting older, say that you're getting wiser. You're not alone. We ARMYs are also getting wiser with you.
