R4-RIDGE RACER TYPE 4 のオープニングムービーをリメイクしてみました。
一部モデリング(主に車)以外は全部自分でつくったので多少粗があるかもしれませんがご了承下さい（＾＾；

ほんとにリメイクしてほしい作品

当時のナムコの本気を一人で再現しちゃうRSさんも凄いけどやっぱり人のモーションとかあの当時でも凄いクオリティやったんやなって思うと当時のプログラマも変態級に凄い

Actually... The original did a better job with the human movements and facial expressions than this. That was 1998!
its obvious that this video is fan made. its a good job.
Plus,they used real world cars,which looks waaay off. Ridge Racer series will NEVER use real life cars,so they doesnt fit the video.

Yeah her movements were a bit janky for the most part. But at some times it was okay. (Like when she flagged down the car. That looked fine.)

I respect this attempt.
A lot of props to whoever animated this. Sure, the girl's animations aren't as realistic, there's times where she looks like she's floating as she walks. But the car's animations are spot-on and really well done!
Overall, kudos to the person or persons that made this!

Would be nice if NAMCO makes a HD Remake of Ridge Racer Type 4 on the PS3/PS4. This I'd love to see.
Let's make it even better: A "Type 8" with new teams from countries like Germany (Gndae, Himmel), Italy (Soldat+Rivelta) and Korea (Sinseong Motors), also new cars and track too.
However I can't keep the finger cross because there's no news around...so unusual for a PS console not having a Ridge Racer.

The intro is literally a better love story than Twilight.
R4は今の技術でリメイクするべき。今のレースゲームはふ抜けている。R4のような熱さクールさが無い。

ゲームはしたことないけんわからんけど、アニメとか原作は普通に面白いよ🤣

技術とやる気は素晴らしいが、ナガセをロリきょぬーアレンジしたのは 残念ながら何もわかっていないと言わざるを得ない

開発ツールが身近になってもデザイン、デッサンの面で全く及ばず。ゴリラみたいな永瀬とか、ビゾンテの鉄棒みたいなリアスポイラーとか。頑張ったけどね

だけど、車が現代の実車なのは残念だった。
どうせならR4のマシンを綺麗なグラフィックで見たかったです。
これ自分でリメイクしたなんてすごいです。
自分は原作の方をやっていてそちらしか知らないので、リメイク版が出たのかと思いましたよ。
This is such a good attempt to recreate such an iconic video, you have to respect it. My main gripe is that the skirt is way too short, the original wasn't a hentai vid. Reiko was an amazing character and this girl is no patch on her, her walking animations were surprisingly awful considering how well the rest of the video was produced. Maybe one day we'll see this video remade properly, one can hope!
This looks really really good...as long as you keep it paused every once and a while to admire the visuals

While the girl needs work, everything else is fantastic, and makes me wish for an R4 remaster on PS4. Also, love the real cars, especially the Carrera GT.
I really wish someone would make R4 remastered... Although I'd want the R4 cars and not real ones.
Burn Rubber Namco should just reboot the RR series, and make it based off R4. That would be amazing!
Dustin Hunsberger I think after they made Unbounded nothing like a normal RR game they killed it forever sadly. :/ Maybe we could hire someone to make it... :P
Burn Rubber at least ridge racer slipstream was pretty good,draw and drift was plain stupid and horrible
TheSilverParadox Not exactly. I think Draw and Drift was enjoyable. But Unbounded is something like Burnout, and I think that's not supposed to be a RR game.

Why is everyone shitting on this? Yeah the girl isn't the same and yeah some details are going to be different in a remake, but there's no denying there's a lot of polish and effort put into this and it looks great.
Her eyes weird me out, they seem crossed, and her legs when she is walking into the tunnel are far too stiff. The cars look great though, won't argue against that. Also, giving her crazy cleavage seemed unnecessary.
Its more like criticizing than anything. The girl in the video has very poor animation. Her walk and body shape look pretty bad. Other than that great fan remake.
The reason I didn't like this is for the simple fact that the woman in the original intro was classy and elegant and DIDN'T look like a prostitute. This animator is alright, but at least he (she?) could've used a model that represent a woman with dignity.
For real, my only beef is she walked super stiff and didn't do that blowing her hair out of her face bit 🤓
Loved it otherwise
2018 and I'm still wishing Namco would remake R4 for today's consoles. Will keep wishing and listening to the soundtrack until I wither away. It was BY FAR the best Ridge Racer they made and that game will always have a special place in my heart.

Human movement is best done with motion capture, instead of pure animation.
She is suupose to be more mature and sexy but she is become .. fat... :(((
she didnt become fat, its just that hear shoulders are as broad as a marine lol. graphics looks cool, but movements are awful

i agree who Reiko looks a bit little uncanny derpy in this moddle .... BUT THE cars animation are ULTRA accurated who left me wondering: why this isn't a real thing yet!
THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME, people bitching about this version it's not good... i want to see those people creating a awesome work like this! so many memories , even the refelct of the driver on 1:40 like on the original version, as i said just AWESOME

I applaud the effort and time invested to make this but 90’s originals are very hard to compare and compete with
I still find this very good years later. As a fan remake, it does a good job of recreating the scenes from the original. Sure, the locales and cars are real, but still, a damn fine job.
This shows that people with greater experience and knowledge in animation using low tech still beats and inexperienced and still-in-training animator with better tools. The old intro still shows better human movement, facial expression and car physics than this new one. No offense but whoever did this dropped the ball with the girl's animation. Her walk was robotic and her expression at the end was really off. Also, in the original the girl was beautiful yet elegant, in this one she looks like a stripper.

Absolutely stunning. I love your choice of cars too! The Carrera GT made for the perfect star. I also enjoyed seeing the Corvette Stingray. Now if we could only get an HD remake of the game too... :)
a lowered 05 Ford GT with grey paint and blue strips would work too haha
I nearly cried... I had so much great memories from this game while I was growing up. They really should make a remake, would be the best thing ever.
This is the only ridge racer game I've truly ever liked, It didn't have that arcade feel like the rest of them have.
This is a clean attempt, this may not be a perfect job, but is good

well they have lots of games to work on - Gundam Extreme, Tekken, and of course WMMT for the arcades.They'd have to make room for Ridge Racer; but if the demand is high, I'm sure they'd make a reboot / remaster.

What I don't like about the remake version is that you showed us the Corvette C7 dash in a Porsche Carrera GT.

At least Reiko's feet looked better than in the original, but everything else about Reiko was off course in this remake, especially the smile.

That remake of the intro of ridge racer type 4 is very awesome. The girl looks so sweet and I am always extremely happy because the girl has a nice dress and a cool hairstyle like Makoto Morishita from Maximum Tune. And what I like in the remake is the cities, real life cars (the Porsche, the Lambo, the Vette, and the Benz), and all the interesting vibes of R4. I couldnt believe this intro is so lovely. So is the girl and so is ze Porsche. Anyways, this remake rocks! And greetings from subarus who say “Nani, kansei dorifto”!

It's much improved in two areas I can think of.
0:29 the car closest to us is driving sideways in a straight line. infact, this whole shot is really unbelievable with how narrow the road is.
0:33 she looks kind of robotic. lacking fluidity.
0:37 her face needs some serious work. i know you were going for anime or whatever, but even the 20 year old version looks more pleasing.
0:42 wtf is that walk cycle?
0:57 what is she looking at? we can see her heel is broken, but can she?
1:39 this is a race spec car, and you expect me to believe it has power windows?
1:44 someone pointed out to me that some of the frames reminded them of drake and the 99 dragons.
1:53 the acceleration here should be smooth.
You must be a wacky individual to watch movies with.
Imagine this remade in next-gen graphics!
