    That is suppose to be some really good oil. I have it in my cart going to replace my oil with that this next oil change. Love Maxima. Thanks so much for sharing and confirming that's the best oil to use in the Honda African Twins.
    Thanks again my friend and have a blessed week. Keep up the great videos.

    Quick and easy oil change. I have never used Maxima, but I have heard really good things about it.

      +Kentucky Woodsman I have used it for several years. Good stuff ! My first oil change video was an instructional video. This video was just about the Maxima oil

    ...I've been running Maxima's 10w60 Ester based synthetic in my built XR650L for sometime now and have found it to start easier yet produce more power, handle hotter temperatures and shift better than any other synthetic I've tried... Across all 27 of the motorcycles I've owned, I've used Amsoil, Royal Purple, Maxima and Motul, all Ester based synthetics, all with good results but the Maxima product does seem a degree of separation better... I also change oil fairly frequently - basically as soon as it begins shifting a little stiffer, I change the oil - costs more but I have gotten unbelievable mileage on some of these such as over 100k miles on my former KLR650 as an example... Amsoil's 15w50 Marine oil produced the best dyno results with that particular motor at the time... Better stuff available now... Thanks so much for sharing!

    I was about to leave a comment to tell you that you needed to change that filter, haha. Also, you may want to check with your dealer because I think you need to take it to your dealer for service such as oil changes, etc. Or at least they need to sign off on it for warranty.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  7 років тому

      +adamaj yea I remembered the filter just before I started it and then I had to remove the skid plate again to change it. I wasn't even thinking about it lol

    Hi Woodzman, enjoy watching your videos, I too have a CRF250L and also the Africa Twin like yourself. One of the things I tried to do the other day was to see how to change a light bulb on the AT because I'm planning a trip to France and by law you have to carry spare bulbs there. Can you do a video on how to change a light bulb on the AT, it seems as though you have to take fairings off which seems crazy for what should be a simple operation. Thanks.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  7 років тому

      Good comment Joe .
      Well the Africa Twin has LED headlights & you shouldn't need to replace them like you would a halogen bulb. So i don't think there would be a need to care extra bulbs.

    glad to hear that maxima proplus+ would last up to 6,000 km. In my country, the provider suggests that I change the oil only after 2,500 - 3,000 km. p/s: I live in SEA

      NOBODY recommends changing the oil that often, please research, that's why you have Internet!

    Does having your bike on the center stand make a difference on the the oil level reading on the dipstick? just a thought

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  7 років тому +1

      +sthrallday yes it does but the spot that I sit the bike is sloped so the bike is pretty close to level on the center stand

    Hi Woodzman, here's a question... how do you still maintain your 2 year warranty with Honda if you are doing your own servicing, I thought it had to be done by the main dealer who can stamp your service book.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  7 років тому

      The dealer said that I can do my own oil changes and not hurt the warranty.

    • @husky-7017
      @husky-7017 7 років тому

      yes your right joe... no way would Honda honour your warranty if you changed the oil yourself.. they would need to see a fully stamped service book to honour any type of claim on your engine....

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  7 років тому

      +drz-400-e Well that is sure what they said and the warranty is only 1 year

    • @husky-7017
      @husky-7017 7 років тому

      I am not saying don,t do it but that dealer stamp in the service book is a must.. and the re-sale value will be much more and much easier to sell when the time comes... anyway 8000 miles you will need the valves checked (by the dealer) as part of the major service.... as I asked the Honda dealer only last week.. great videos by the way...

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  7 років тому

      +drz-400-e Yea I got to take mine in and have the valves checked, it won't be long. I could do it myself but I will probably just take it to the dealer and have it done.
      Thanks !

    Noticed you went to a 10w40 from the 10w30 you did in the 600 mile Service. Any reason in particular

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  6 років тому

      +Gary Sit I like to run 10w40 in the warmer weather and the 10w30 in the winter

    • @Zebraunit22
      @Zebraunit22 6 років тому

      WOODZMAN ADVENTURES begat temps do you start to put 10w30. Just wondering cause I live in vegas and the dealer put 10w40 on my DCT and now we are getting temps around 80’s high to low 60’s

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  6 років тому

      +Gary Sit The 10w40 will be fine, it’s just something that I do. I won’t make a special change just for winter, only if it’s time for my oil change.

    I didn't know it was that critical to get all the old oil out of the engine.I thought you could even mix synthetic and reg. oil.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  7 років тому

      +dan hambrick I am now scholar but I wouldn't thing it would be a good idea

      ...ester based synthetics mix nicely with most other oils without issue but after a few oil changes, you can really feel the difference in shifting and cold morning startup. I'm curious if the Maxima ester based synthetic would alter the behavior of the DCT HAT?... I had an SAE cert and did a lot of testing years ago for a number companies with regard to ester based synthetics... Nearly all of it was very positive!

    Full synthetic oils last much longer than 6000 miles ;) I hope that is motorcycle designed oil not automotive.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  7 років тому

      +Yes Sure Yea they do last longer but I am changing it is 6k. Yes it's motorcycle designed oil or I wouldn't have used it lol
