I'm committed to doing it as long as I am still having fun. It might take a while as there will be breaks for work trips, life, rest, etc., but so far it is still great. I have already recorded more episodes that will come out over the next couple of days.
Excited to see you get back to this game, I was hoping this was coming when you were doing the painting streams this past month. The reprint for this came up when I had too much Kingdom Death and Frosthaven in front of me for another campaign game this year to make sense, but I did go in for Twelve Sins of Herakles and look forward to that whenever it comes in. Since I am probably skipping the original AT:O cycles I would be even more excited to watch along for your play through them.
I probably have too many campaign games as well, I just really love playing this style of game that has an epic story line that unravels through multiple play sessions. Yes, the paining was definitely leading up to playing. I was waiting for the deluxe tiles and the tome. The tome didn't get shipped correctly, so instead of waiting any longer, I just decided to dive in.
I like it too. The trauma cards can really add exciting moments to the gameplay when you can turn something that could have gone wrong into something great!
This game… I like the ideas and the concepts and the IP, the art is lovely, the writing is mostly fine… But the game mechanics! I am not a fan. It wants to be a game of choices and of chance, but the choices aren’t meaningful, and the chance-mechanics cut the story into itty bitty pieces. The story gets in the way of the game, and the game gets in the way of the story. And, checking, I find that the designers believe nothing needs to change. Ouch. Still impressed with you for playing it alone while streaming. Good luck!
It can feel like 2 games wrapped into one. There are story games that would just be the Voyage Phase and there are other boss battlers that would just be the combat. I do enjoy playing this as well as those, but you do have to mentally prepare for a potentially long play session. Thanks for watching!
I love ATO and really enjoy watching other people playthroughs. I wish all the luck!
Thank You!
I watched all of your first campaign on this, now you'll know know some tricks beforehand!
Thank you for watching them. I have more recorded of this playthrough, coming soon.
Looking forward to the C1-C5 playthrough. I hope you will commit to it, because it will be epic

So happy to see all your playthroughs on ATO !
THANKS
Glad you like them! More coming soon!
I like how trauma cards often actually give something positive. It's something I miss in KDM, when e.g. rolling lantern 10 on severe injury table.
