  • Autodesk Vred is one of Autodesks most expensive licenses, in this video I explain why and what it does, who it's for and what it offers. Autodesk Vred is a premium offering for the Automotive (car) industry and is one of the best offerings in the world for renderings, VR and visualization.

    Excellent job on condensing all the info from so many channels in a 15 min video. Kudos 🔥🔥🔥

    Excellent software in many areas. But it has negatives unfortunately....It's very expensive, has a clunky/awkward interface and the animation/curve editor is terrible. I would say this software needs to adapt and improve very quickly to avoid being ousted by the juggernaut that is Unreal Engine.

      @Neil3D  Рік тому

      Tbh I find the UE interface to be clunky and awkward, I think any interface you're not familiar with looks awkward until you are. Agree the animation editor isn't fluid, I struggle with that and wasn't sure if it was just so detailed that it was beyond my comprehension yet or just badly laid out. But whether UE threatens Vred, don't know. Obviously UE has arguable equal rendering capabilities, but I can't see Epic implementing the automotive specific hooks that Vred has which go further than rendering. There's no doubt that UE has disrupted the visualisation scene, but IMO that in itself has a huge learning curve, with the massive advantage of having a globally available library of free tutorials and elearning courses whereas Vred is far more boutique.

      @spiralingspiral72 Рік тому +2

      @@Neil3D that's because UE is designed as a game engine, and primarily used for real-time rendering and presentation, especially with the recent release of the absolute beast that is Unreal Engine 5.
      meaning that you still have to model somewhere else, and given how very friendly UE's free version is (basically commercial access, no file and saving restrictions, all as long as you don't make $1mil/year, and if you do, you only pay 5% of your profits to UE), you might as well pair it with another 3d software like Rhino or even Blender.

      Me too. ua-cam.com/video/J25tW8ZOpEY/v-deo.html With the possibility to bake the lighting into textures it works pretty good to create realistic real-time scenes with those planar content.

      If you're a reseller then yes the reseller generally gets NFR licenses to all or most of the software, there are different tiers but obviously a reseller isn't going to buy the software to then sell it

    So Autodesk have put together; 3ds Max 2016; Vray 3.0 and Unreal engine for the low low price of 15k a year; and you still dont get to own it. For 15k+vat buying yourself a beast of a pc and opting for other programs seems like a better choice.
