He does tend to pair it with more Germanic accents and certain 'airhead' voices, both of which tend to put the voice higher in the head, sort of right behind the nose/eyes but going the complete opposite of nasal and into a more 'ah ha' area. It might be part of his mental process for doing those particular voices, it is common to use a sort of verbal 'key' whether it is a word or a phrase to both get into a character or get into an accent or voice...or he just thinks that 'hot sausages' sounds funny in that kind of voice.
@Snoodle Dumpling I think it'd probably the latter, cos Hot Sausage is funnier in a Germanic accent haha Apparently he also snuck it into Yonderland; really hoping he completes the trifecta and it's snuck into the final series of Ghosts.
I find it so funny that all of the other shows are pre watershed family shows, and then there's just The Thick of It with "If you want to see something probably illegal, pass me that f*cking stapeler over there" it kills me every time 😂
I think it took me a while too. Not Ben, but Simon's HH character Cliff Whitely being white lie ie making stuff up for the benefit of others I got now after 15 years 😂
It's incredible how Ben finds a way to say Hot Sausages so many times in his career
Probably his catchphrase

Can we please appreciate that “want to see something illegal? Pass me that fucking stapler over there” is a quality line
@@CelineJ1992 I know; it's the weirdest thing, especially coming from HH where cos it's aimed at kids they can't swear
Haha
I think about that line so many times 😂😂 definitely one of the best 💛
@@oliviadaly4795i mean, it was from the thick of it, not horrible histories
this man has the RANGE
Fun fact I saw him at a train station once lol
I SAW HIM ON A TRAIN BUT WAS TOO NERVOUS TO SAY ANYHTING😳😭
Of course the question here is :
Was it the same train?
Where and when was this train?
"Possibly six foot seven" is probably one of my favourite lines from him.
Is that from HH? I don't remember that hah
It'd been a while since I've watched all of HH tho
@@oliviadaly4795 yeah it’s from the William Wallace song lmao
Ben swearing just makes me feel weird 😂
Hot Sausage is pretty much Ben Willbond’s catchphrase isn’t it?
Yes. Yes it is
When you see Ben run, you see how fast he is...
I cannot believe there wasn't a single pep pep pep in this video
It's my mission in life to use that whenever possible

Why did I only just get the ‘skinnymandria’ joke 😭😂
Same 😂 I feel so dumb for not getting it before
I think it took me a while too. Not Ben, but Simon's HH character Cliff Whitely being white lie ie making stuff up for the benefit of others I got now after 15 years 😂

That one character from Yonderland is very Joe Lycett
Which one??
Deb-eh/Martha?
Both Martha and Joe Lycett are actually from Birmingham so maybe it's the accent you're thinking of which reminds you of him
