I don't understand the comments about the closer. It's so clearly not finished yet, I don't know why we're judging it like this is the final version. They have always made the major changes to the closer late in the season. Definitely hearing some fatigue problems in this run as well, but I'm sure it will all be much better by finals. There's still plenty of time to make this good
@@tredaviousbowser7931 Not true, it's just a really challenging show that is not completed and just needs a little bit more time to be really locked in.
Always love how Crown stays true to the musical sources that they pick. All those pieces are intense. I hoping that the can continue to work the show bring the heat even more. This show is too Good.
They are getting so robbed this year. they are amazing. The level of difficulty for this show is so far above the rest. Maybe it because they are so perfect it’s almost robotic..
inviting john mackey to crown is such a big L, they lost the crown touch even the brass is so bad that touched 4th position. the music haven't changes much. if this is early that's okay, but this is broken arrow. that's crazy.
Their brass is not bad by any means. Looking at their scores show the music analysis is still very high, but it’s the execution that’s behind. Crown is admittedly off to a later start in cleaning, but their book is always among the most difficult of the corps. Their sound is still stellar. I’d revisit this later as we approach Allentown, as they also are known to update their book as the season goes on.
Crown makes their big changes later in the season. And usually when other corps are watering their books to make it easier crown ramps up there’s to make it more difficult both hornline and battery wise
I LOVE crown! They will always be my favorite, but I agree. The closer Mackey wrote feels weak/lacking. I can't really put my finger on it, but it feels like something is off. While crown brass is still amazing, I simply don't enjoy the composition of the closer.
Crown was 4th in brass at this same competition last year, and they finished 1st by the end. This show has legs to continue to grow and improve. Give them time.
Crown needs to dial down the theatrics.. they are too talented to be performing this kind of show. There are no ebbs and flows. It's just full out the whole time and I'm not sure what is going on. Wouldn't be surprised if Phantom passes them by seasons end.
That final chord progression and last note is just really unpleasant to the ear and not played particularly well. Player fatigue? Lack of engagement? I’m not sure what the deal is
The problem in Tulsa yesterday was universal. The humidity was ridiculous and the temperature fluctuated alot during the day. Intonation was going to be a problem. The horns may be in tune as a section but the pit can't control the temperature of the wood and metal. If you watch the BD videos on my page from earlier in the day, intonation was horrendous. But there was no way to control it.
I think there are some weird and unresolved moving lines in the trumpets underneath the chords that just don't work. i'm guessing this isn't going to be their final ending..
They are almost certainly going to end on a Bb major chord, and the crown set, and probably change the entire closing statement. What we currently see as the final chord will probably be shortened to 2 or 3 measures, and will be followed by a classic Crown closer

Crown’s percussion has leveled up.
But their brass and guard has leveled down sadly

@@Ethan2003-r4o yea you’re right I’m being unfair. The weather was really bad that night and fatigue might have been a big factor.
Crown’s program has a high level of difficulty compared to other corps.
Bro did a better job recording than Flo marching
Flo's audio is horrible

Getting 4th in brass is diabolical
Did you use a tripod?
No.
Yall complaining about the closer not being “enjoyable” when the rest of the show is as challenging as it is
like damn give em a break and get over it
No doubt. Hardest show on the field this year! They’ve got a bunch of work ahead and they can do it!
The challenge not translating to higher scores or GE is a valid concern
are u record bloo?
this year was great !
When was the last time Crown got 4th in brass?
this time last year. im not worried abt it
the scales are stale

The closer is just too short, I personally love how the closer is written, I just wish there was more.
