your tips are invaluable! I am new to lace knitting and currently have a lace shawl in time out. Learning to read the lace is of primary importance, it seems to me, and this video was terrific. Thank you! Fern in Minnesota
Totally agree, Fern! Lace knitting is fun but can also be challenging and prone to mistakes (I've lost count of how many times I wish I'd have put lifelines or paid closer attention while knitting). So glad you found the tips helpful. Hope your shawl comes out of time out. I've got a couple projects in detention too; will get back to them in the new year😊 Thanks for watching and warm regards!
Thanks, Simone! I am so happy the tips help😀 I sometimes trust my memory too much and then get stuck trying to remember what row to do next So, over time, have learned to seek out and rely on these pattern recognitions; might be simpler to just note down where I left off 😊 Thanks for watching and best wishes!
Thanks for the lovely comments Birgit! I really like this pattern. Hope to post the Fern pattern, which is a larger version of the baby fern pattern, in the upcoming weeks. Thanks for watching and best wishes😀
I sure love lace stitch patterns :) I don't get to make anything with this one yet though...too many irons in the fire right now with baby shower items, lol.
I love lace too! Can't get enough of it. Nice to know you have many ongoing projects and best wishes for them. I am just wrapping up a swatch of the Fern lace stitch (larger version of baby fern and I think quite pretty and dainty). Will post a video on it in Jan and perhaps might catch your fancy for a future project. Thanks for watching and happy knitting 😀
@@legoffpacret9680 If you mean if the edges will roll inwards, then no, they should not roll inwards with a garter stitch border. You may still need to block the scarf at the end for the lace pattern to show up nicely😊
Hi Marley, thanks for watching and glad you liked it. Yes, I can be worked in the round but you only need to cast on a multiple of 12 sts and omit the "P1, K1, P1" at the start of Rows 1, 3, and 5 (which means you would just start from the *K2Tog... onwards and repeat that to the end of the row). For Rows 2, 4, and 6, you would just do a knit all the way around (instead of purl). Hope this helps and love to hear if you used this stitch for a project knit in the round. Best wishes!
brilliant tutorial, massively appreciate the explanation to figure out which row i'm in. Thank you!
Thanks so much🤗 Best wishes!
Beautiful pattern👌💝🙏
You explained so well and easy to follow 🤩
@@bonnadowns524 Thanks so much! Glad you liked it. Best wishes 🤗

As usual a great video. Loved your tips on how to figure out which row you are on. Perfectly logical but it never occurred to me Thank you very much.

Hi,
I really love the look of this stitch! Thank you for sharing your talent.
I would like to ask if this stitch may be worked in the round?
