For those attempting this themselves, you can do an additional shortcut swapping the level and locust number on b117, grabbing the chest on the next floor, and then locust skipping to save a bunch of time. (you can also grab the two chests after gor and warp immediately without skpping the brand room) . if you need to get to 000 and pick up a locust out of habit, just pick up the locust counter and die without setting it back down. its been cool to see what everyone has done with this glitch so far, from reaching other endings to just making the most mario-maker esque levels out of it.
Thanks for the video. I tried this on my own and ran into a bug, instead of the cif Statue sending me to E000, the game replayed the opening cut scene and sent me to B001. I’m glad to know that it was a bug, and not what was supposed to happen.
This is such an elaborate setup process. Knowing theses devs, it halfway feels like it might have been intentional. Does anything special happen if you do Dis in this mode?
Going to DIS in this mode just gives you the normal ending as if you went there as Gray. There are the other things you can do from breaking out of EX, like taking a certain shortcut, with special scenarios for the mimic.

If you close the game during this process, either by sleeping at a tree or otherwise crashing it, you will end up outside EX mode for good.
My favourite passtime is listening to the VS soundtrack sped up

The mimic is an important part of EX mode--i don’t know how you'd know about one and not the other.
