Tom thanks for the video. glad to see you getting videos in the pipeline if you have the time can you do a video on matching circuit on the 811 and tuning each band to match the exciter from the inducers on the back !!
Thanks you for this info. I'm running an Ameritron ATP-102 pulser and a Daiwa CN-901 meter. Not sure about the meter, though it seems to work okay, but the pulsre works good. I have your TOF in my 811-a and love it. It takes the stupid out of me tuning wrong. Thanks again Tom!
Hi Tom, I leaving in a few minutes for Kaiser. I took time to watch the video because amp tuning and incorrect amp tuning is a favorite subject of mine for personal reasons and for UA-cam videos. Where or how can I purchase the pulse device? I would very much like to do a video about the device and likely it would get thousands of views. My approach would be different and a little bit simpler. But the point would be the same. The pulsing device would be a safer way (as you discussed) to tune and not exceed the plate dissipation of the tube(s). A guy sent a box of 811a tubes to me that he said were defective. Well, they were burned, dark inside, coating on the glass envelope, white on the inside from oxygen and otherwise burned up from excessive grid current and drive. Again, where can I buy one of the pulsers? 73, Jim W6LG in Rocklin, CA
I just listed them at this link: www.ctrengineeringinc.com/tuning-pulser-tuning-pecker-pkr-1/ Be forewarned after the Holidays I am way behind, maybe about a week.
Great video. Thanks for calibration on my awm 30

Thanks Frank. The Daiwa meters I looked at are ok for peaking an amplifier but I would not relay on them for reading the real peak power.
Thank you Tom and wishes for a happy, healthy new year.
Thanks Dave, right back at you!

Excellent Tom! Thanks.
Thank you!
Happy New Year Tom!
That's way cool...
Does anyone actually know where you can BUY one of these tuning pulsers either complete and ready to go or even in a kit form?

@ Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated 😊
Do you like the MFJ-267? That is the one I have.
I have not tested that power meter. Sorry
I have the AL811H amp. I have an Ameritron ATP 102 tuning pulser. Will this work with an Icom 7300 radio? Thx!
@@dheller777 I have the same setup and it works for me. Do you have Tom's tuning on the fly circuit built into your amp?
@bigfranksworld No
@dheller777 you might want to look into it, and some of the other upgrades Tom does
@@bigfranksworld Thank you
Could one use this with an FT 950 and an SB 220? I use a Birdwatt Meter and a LP 100A. Happy New Year, Tom
AWM-30, hard to find , pricey,
It's too bad they went out of business. They had some good stuff.
