Kek, funny name. The "Fasola" part sounds really close to the word for "beans" in my first language, and since "suchus" is just crocodile, from now on it shall be known as The Bean Croc.
It's a common VFX trick. Use limited lighting to obscure details that would give away the effect. Spielberg did the same with the T-Rex paddock scene in _Jurassic Park._
I thought this movie was way inaccurate. It was, but not as much as I had thought. That is a fasolasuchas, and the little Dino’s on all fours earlier in the movie were postasuchas I guess? The fasolasuchus is most likely to big and lived in the Triassic. Still cool that they actually based them off of actual animals.
They have names based on real animals, BUT they look nothing like them, so having just a real name, doesn't really do anything with the accuracy. Instead it makes it worse, since you have something to compare it with! At least when it's made up animals, you have no basis to compare it with for accuracy and you can go "it's just some species that didn't fossilize , so we have no knowledge of their existence".
First Disney gave us a Carnotaurus on steroids in Dinosaur in which it was 7 meters (22 feet) tall , in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Fox and Blue Sky gave us a T rex and a Baryonyx on steroids, in which the mother T rex was 9 meters (29 feet) tall, while Rudy was 13 meters (42 feet) tall. And now, we get a fasolasuchus on steroids from Sony and Colombia Pictures, in which it was my guess that it could have been bigger then Rexy from the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies, but almost as big as the Vastatosaurus Rex from the 2005 King Kong film. We don't know for sure yet.

Two things ... First off - people throwing their weapons away when they run out of ammo - is such a monumentally. stupid Hollywood deal - and - they don't just drop them - they THROW them away. #1 - He might be able to recharge it or find ammo for it in some version of the ship that crashed. #2 - Weapons make good clubs. A lot better than fists. Next - the 3rd Dinosaur - seeing those two big piles of meat just sitting there - would not have cared in the least by that tiny little scrap of it running around. Why chase a tiny little mouthful when there's all he could eat right there? .
@@Vexarax Cats aren't hungry because we feed them. Wild animals are generally always hungry since it is actually hard for them to get food. Though there is an instinct to chase, I doubt that instinct kicks in if they are devouring a kill that they already have and don't need to work further for. Most of this does not make sense to us as we are generally not starving or have to risk our lives for food. Makes sense for wild animals though. Chasing requires energy and there is a risk of injury. Hot fresh kill, no longer does.
@@EngiRedbeard I was more joking - these are fake dinosaurs and it’s a mindless action movie hence why it chased him lol. I’ve heard crocodiles will do multiple kills no matter how much food they have, then store what they can’t consume. Maybe the Dino had the same idea lol - or Mr Driver was like a little laser light for a cat so he just had to chase it and play with it. Regarding cats - they love to play (in the wild as well as at home). That’s another reason they’ll go after a fast moving creature not for food, but for fun.
Hmmm... they call the second theropod a T- Rex, but it isn't. If it was, it wouldn't have been able to pursue Mills on all fours, because it's arms were just to short to support it in that posture. It would keep on ploughing the ground with its snout. About all I can think of is that it's supposed to be a Giganotosaurus... but even if it's not in the wrong time zone, it certainly is geographically, being a South rather than a North American species. I'm not sure what rating it has, but if this film was rated low enough to let kids in to see it, I bet every single dino fan amongst them would have been pretty annoyed that the film makers got some thing so simple and fundamental so wrong!
