I have this, it doesn't require a constant internet connection, maybe that changed in a more recent update. I unboxed it, plugged my phone charger into the USB-C port, it then powered up and once I'd connected it to my wifi it installed a load of updates. Then I took it to my car and it found the VIN and created a diagnostic report - all whilst offline
Thank you for this. I ended up ordering it (I already had the generic Creader for OBDII). The only annoyance was when upgrading the software as soon as I unpacked it. The WiFi was only needed to update the software to the newest - and took a while and register the unit. Once that was done, I didn’t need the WiFi. Very comprehensive and a godsend for my E46. Reset the Steering Angle Sensor. Now I can turn the DSC on and off as needed. Still have more to explore, but very happy with it so far!
Hi Jason, I needed a good scan tool and bought the Foxwell NT530 loaded with the BMW software. Seems to work great. Does not rely on an internet connection, has lifetime free software upgrades. Tool costs £164 in the UK, and for an extra £70 each you can add software for a further 5 car brands. I am very happy with it so far.
Hi Bob. Hope all is well. I am thinking to buy the foxwell nt530 to reset the adaptation to my throttle body as i just replaced it. Would this scanner work to perform this for my 2006 mini cooper? Thank you for your time!

German viewer here. When you wanted to deactivate the service warning, I think you've changed the wrong setting. It said "Fahrzeuguntersuchung" on the screen, which is the famous and mandatory "TÜV"-inspection over here, which has to be done every 24 months. Hence the setting for month and year. As your car is US spec, I doubt you get that warning, right?
Great review and video Jason, I own a different model Creader Diagnostic tool, I am not sure I need all these features, however one BMW feature I dislike is the doors locking while driving on my 2001 530i, my previous 2001 530i, and 1998 BMW 528is didn't do that.
I have an old E53 X5 this might be useful on. I already have the downloadable software, but have been afraid to even connect it as using it is very cryptic, and one wrong move while coding a replacement module can really screw stuff up. I think for our next family hauler I'm going to look for an old early 90s vintage Mercedes wagon and restore it as neccessary. My daily driver is an '87 Porsche 924S and I've not had to deal with even a single DTC. Ha-ha!
The only time I needed Wi-Fi was setting it up in the beginning and to upgrade everything which I found was very annoying. It took for ever. It kept failing. I took it in the house and let it update inside with it plugged in the usb c. I didn’t have the problem with the WPA2 mine worked fine. Other then that I seem to like it so far. I also have a Thor Wi-Fi adapter so I can run things like XDelete and XHP. I also use bimmerscan and although I can’t do as much I love how fast it is for me using my adapter compared to using this. But all around I guess I gotta just use it more and let it grow on me.
Wondering if this scan tool can recode an abs module for an e46 much easier. I saw the coding you did for your e46 and there was a lot going on with INPA/INSTA. Would be nice to see you recode a module just to see how it works. Thanks.

Good day Jason, I’m having issues with my wife’s 03 X5. Air suspension inactive. Will this coder/programmer allow me to look @ the EHC11 module, manually turn on the compressor & clear faults for that system & adjust the ride height? Thank you for everything you post.
Can you remove an incident from the right front seatbelt module? (or an incident from the main module, usually located at the bottom/rear of the center console)

Hi Jason, have you tried the TPMS reset/relearn feature on this tool? Wondering if you also need to purchase their more robust LAUNCH X-431 TSGUN TPMS tool in order to properly program new sensors and communicate back to the Scanner tool? Would you happen to have more info on this? Thank you.
This looks promising. Do you think this would help to code a new iDrive CCC unit into an E60? Ours kept doing the BMW logo boot loop so we got a replacement CCC module from a junyard here in Northern California. The iDrive now works, and things like climate control can be adjusted, navigation is fully functional, but there two outstanding issues I'd like to solve. For one, the AUX port I had added to the vehicle order is now gone, which I think this tool could re-code in. And in the iDrive menu, there is no way to check the engine oil level anymore. The tab which used to be there in Service is missing for some reason. Since these cars don't have a dipstick, this is really concerning so I'd really hope this tool can also fix that bug as well. Maybe by clearing the entire module back to factory or adding it to the VO like the AUX port. Thanks as always for the long format deep dive into the product!
Thanks as always for a great video! I have to take care of the freakin steering angle sensor from your last video because INPA won't connect to my DME.
Got one of these because I have to reset my crankshaft position sensor. Keeps going around in a circle and after entering that VIN 7 times by hand I had to give up. Sent an email to them, hoping they will respond. What a disappointment.
They responded: Oh, oops, this doesn't work with older BMW's. Neither did the $400 Autel I bought. The seller of the latter asked if I was going to keep the $400 unit anyway.
I JUST purchased the Autel MaxiCheck Pro (arrives tomorrow) after doing a LOT of research. Launch's products looked VERY good...until I found out that they seemed to require both an annual license purchase, as well as individual one time purchases (one time payment to register a new battery for example) - and THAT was a deal breaker for me. The Autel MaxiCheck doesn't require an annual license purchase just to use the tool, doesn't charge extra for each option, and comes with unlimited lifetime software updates. That's what the "Mall" option id for (which I DO see on the screen in your video) - additional purchases. Can you go into the "Mall" option to review those additional charges? Maybe I'm mistaken - please correct me if so, but that's what it looked like on the Launch CRP123E tablet. I was considering the Foxwell NT510 as well, but ultimately went with the Autel MaxiCheck Pro. Hopefully I made a good choice.
From what I can see on mine, you can either buy those functions for all cars, or buy the suite of functions for one make. I.E the BMW suite (that comes with the scanner) will do all of those functions for just BMWs. But say you’re a tire shop, and you’re constantly resetting TPMS, you can buy TPMS reset function alone for ALL cars. As far as I can see it doesn’t require a one time purchase, but you can buy functions piecemeal if you want. Otherwise just buy the full BMW/VW/GM whatever suite for your car. Hopefully that helps
Also - you get 1 year of updates with the scanner, but you have to buy a license to keep updating. But it won’t stop it from working, just no future updates. Your Autel is likely a much nicer scanner though :p
