Dude. Every time they release a video. I may cry a lot, but this got me in the good spot. Somewhere at the crossing of extreme genius and love. I guess they come from the same place.
In a time when everyone is moving toward AI generators and eye-popping CGI, the OK Go boys continue to wow us with their dedication to doing amazing things the hard way. Not to mention a catchy hook. The undisputed kings and vanguard of music video innovation have reclaimed the throne.
I believe that the MTV awards should just have an award named after OkGo. Something like "The OkGo award for innovation beyond what we thought was possible"
Back when MTV used to play music videos, the MTV Video Music Awards would have the Video Vanguard Award. I could totally see OK Go getting something like that.
I remember when "Here it Goes Again" came out and I was drowning in the fear of my brother's cancer diagnosis. After that "This too Shall Pass" and "Needing/Getting" and "Skyscrapers" swooped in when I was struggling, and all of these are great videos/songs and mind blowing efforts of work, but for me I can remember how each one has helped me on a journey out of a dark time. And now, in 2025, here it goes again. Thank you, guys, for sticking around and making something we can hang on to!
Upside Down and Inside Out did the same for me! They’re somehow both extremely magical and incredibly sincere, a balance I’m not sure many other people/bands can achieve.
THank you for sharing mate. I also echo this...! 'I Won't Let You Down' was just released as I got married to my amazing wife... It was at the perfect time and became the background song to a lot of those moments. I remember during the time before the wedding showing the video and all the other ones released around the same time to my dad. As a mathematician he always loved the complexity and intricacy of all the OK Go videos and the thought and coordination that had to go into them (which was funny because he was the one that showed me ''Here It Goes Again'' back in the day). All these years later - my father has just passed away. I miss him every day but this song is that beautiful and understated reminder that things can be sad, it can be melancholy, but it's OK. It just is and there is peace in that to be found.
You ever listen to an OK Go album? they're masterpieces, people love their videos but nobody sits down and listens to an album start to end, and it's really worth it because its a great experience i'd recommend Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky, and Hungry Ghosts they also have a new album coming this year called And The Adjacent Possible
Trying to do the math on this breaks my brain - I can't imagine the geospatial reasoning it required to get this to be as amazing as it is. One lingering question in my mind - Just how many times has OK Go listened to this song at this point? I can't even imagine. 64 cameras, 64 unique videos, but how. many. takes!?
Strangely upbeat despite the intended message. It certainly encapsulates the lingering sense of uncertainty and doom about the world right now. I think all of us are feeling disjointed and anxious in some way or another, while repeating "it'll be alright" like a prayer in the back of our heads. Another excellent piece for the repertoire.
@@he.artshaped twenty one pilots, Porter Robinson, and Foster the People were always my go-to examples of this; guess I've got another for my repertoire!

Well, you can't do it can you. Thank you OK GO for putting faith back to a humane art creation thats so BEAUTIFUL and FULLFILING!
It's 2025, and your videos remain as amazing as ever. Decades of creating content at a consistently high standard - that's such an incredible achievement!
My daughter just yesterday asked me to play some OK Go videos so she could watch them and listen to the songs. She's loved this band since I played their music for her when she was four. She is going to be excited to find out there's a new song and video when she gets home for school!
One of my earliest memories of YT was watching Ok Go music videos with my sister and getting excited each time a new one came out over the years... Could not be happier to see a new release after the hiatus 🎉
OK GO continues to be unmatched in the music video space. It’s incredible how their treadmill video was considered unique at the time, but look at how far they’ve come! 🤯
you've found a pretty incredible way to make something still visually impressive in the digital age. damian said at some point that "there's always an element of surprise to wonder" and the surprise of seeing the phone perspective keep pulling out and crazier and crazier visuals kept me engaged. in the era of AI slop, thanks for keeping it real!
It never ceases to amaze me how complicated these videos can get from the simplest idea . Like imagining organizing and making sure everything lines up like this..... Blows my mind
I remember stumbling on Here It Goes Again on youtube over 15 years ago, and it was an incredible feeling to have stumbled upon the premier for this seconds before it went live. Thank you OK Go for being there for all of us throughout the years, promoting positivity and beautiful works of art through your music and videos!
There are music videos from OK Go, and then there is everybody else. They are in a league of their own! From synchronized treadmills to paint in Zero G, Muppet inception and brilliant, unfathomable Rube Goldberg machines ...their creativity simply cannot be matched!! These musicians and their team have captivated the Internet in a way that puts them solidly in my favorite and most watched music videos. Bravo.
So, I am not someone with perfect pitch or a degree in music theory but, upon relistening, the song itself is just so fricken good. The intro that almost sounds like it is being played in reverse, turning back time, going up a hill before the main bit of the song hits which has a falling feel to it, almost like a descending shepherds tone. With the way the drums and guitar play, it has such a strong a feeling of a rock tumbling down a hill, hitting little bumps that knock it up for a moment before it continues falling before coming to a stop at the bottom, everything cuts out, "it'll all be just fine." The video itself is awesome but damn is the song just so well composed. It has perfectly encapsulated that feeling of something that was good coming to an end, knowing its inevitable, but wishing it wasn't, coming to the bottom and realizing, that life goes on, and you will, eventually, be just fine. ❤
Thank you for reminding us a few days before the inauguration that a stone only rolls down hill. Love OK GO! I am grateful for the awe and positivity you bring. Loved the show in St. Louis!

Was going through some music on Spotify when I saw a new song had been released. Got about five seconds into it when I thought, “Hold on, wait, I wonder if they made another incredible music video,” and came straight here. 😂 Needless to say, I was not disappointed. Edit to add: Thank you for the work you guys put into these, and for a reminder that while it all rolls downhill, we’re just rolling along with it.
If it was anybody else I'd assume it was special effects, but with Ok Go I know it's definitely all real and my mind is blown at how they coordinated the whole thing
No CGI - but there are a few after effect comps. Specifically when there's "nested" videos where it kept pulling out. Like the very last reveal to show him in a white room. They would have had to go from the original source video of a "deeper" level phone, to then the video of a "shallower" level phone showing the deeper level phone. Otherwise any of the nested sequences would have been blurry the entire time through. You can see this right before a pull out, when the footage gets just a little bit grainier, about a second before the shift. That said, that's more of a quality of life decision for the video so we're all not just staring at 2 pixels. Everything is done practically, with no green screen, and this is impressive as hell.
And once again OK Go smashes another pillar of creativity. They danced on treadmill, on a mini scooter, created a Rube Goldberg sequence, went on a plane to simulate 0 gravity for their video and so many other ideas and now this. Beautiful!! January is not even over and we can end 2025 now.

I really want to believe that it was shot without CGI and I do because of the credibility OK Go gained throughout their career.
It was. They have had q&a and behind the scenes videos
It has a couple 'cuts' that are made to appear seamless but that's only so the recursive parts are possible.
