Looking at the whole fall, the game is clearly designed to prevent the player from reaching any platforms or recovery points until they touch the ground. So it's an unfair fall by design. I can forgive some of the other parts of the game that are a hard or punishing but let you recover after a relatively short fall, but this? This is just bullying.
Instead of whining about this on a UA-cam video that the dev of the game wont see, why don't you man up and tell them about how you feel Mr. game dev. Guess you didn't play many old school games where if you died near the end of the game, you had to start over from the beginning if you had no more continues. Gamers/devs these days are babies compared to gamers/devs of the past.
@@HoloProEnjoyer Oh, I spent my childhood playing NES and SNES games and also DOS games that had no saves and needed to be finished in one sitting. Super Mario Bros and Prince of Persia come to mind. In those games, you lost because of your own mistakes, not because of a troll trap. You had 3 lives (on average) and checkpoints (sometimes). You didn't get sent to the beginning of the game just because the dev decided to put a hidden trap that has no correlation to the rest of the game experience. And I mean this part especially. Up to that point, in this game you know you can slide to the side while falling to aim for a platform below and recover yourself. This specific trap prevents the player from doing that by activating invisible walls. That doesn't follow the game rules and is just a bad way of making a game "more challenging". Even tho this is unquestionably bad game design, in exchange we get to see a lore-accurate depiction of hope descending. I wouldnt be playing this, but thanks for the entertainment.
That fall is all the proof you need to tell that the developers never had any intention of making a good game. They just wanted to make a Getting Over It ripoff while using nonsense trolls to increase difficulty since they couldn't be bothered to make fair difficulty.
Yeah, if they were going to troll or make a trial-and-error segment to put it very generously, they should have at least placed a platform to catch the player.
And in exchange they got popular. I dont like where this is going; developers developing for purpose of entertainment instead of actually implementing proper game design by the rules. They probably did not expect the game to be popular, but because of the exposure of a few popular streamers especially pekora.
@@alfredong6850 I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not, but this game was not designed to be entertaining. It was designed to be challenging. There aren't enough people who understand the difference between a fair challenge and unfair nonsense. A fair challenge will always be the player's fault for their failure while unfair nonsense are unpredictable traps like we see here. It's important to pay attention to why something is difficult.
@@kylerivera3470 You call it a game. I call it "entertainment software". Thats how badly designed of a 'game' it is. Why did she wait so long to hit the slow down and look for a good fall point? I just can't understand that level of panic lol... She could have EASILY hit that first bird platform probably but just lost her cool so bad
It wouldn't have worked. That particular part of the game is designed so that if you step on the cheese, it will bring you pretty much all the way back down to the bottom without any chance of recovery. Something about invisible walls built in there like a funnel or something like that.
@@sleeplessknight99 Can confirm same thing happened to me. For some reason I couldn't move like normal to reach anything. Not sure why they made a trap near the end of the game just to break all the rules and kill you.

Jump King and Getting Over It have long falls, but they don't try to deceive you about it. If you fall in those games, it's a skill issue. Here, the game is deliberately trying to trick you into falling, and there's no clue whatsoever to hint that it may be a trap. It's deliberate asshole design.
It might be akutan first.. then pekora later.... and maybe fubuki didn't get trapped by this? Not 100% sure. Just to give an early answer from my perspective here. Somebody who watches everything will probably correct me.
Pekora was felled first. Fubuki crossed the pizzas safely before stepping on the large cheese. Koyori failed to land on the plate, therefore not counted as trapped, and so was not funneled all the way to the bottom. Then Aqua.

The game gave an impression of hard but fair, with failure being on your own mistake, and then it does this to you. It sends you all the way to the beginning. After this you realize there's no point to continue playing if you will lose 2 hours of climbing progress, just because the devs might have another trap ahead to just artificially kill you.
