I love this series of interviewing HOF players, the wisdom we can glean from 10 mins with them is inspirational. Thank you Packy for the amazing content. Much love. Keep it up.
I really cannot think of any other bowler who could be more informative and knowledgable. A genuine legend. There are very few people at this level. Thank you Tommy and Packy. I loved every second of this video. Please make more videos together.
I lived in SC for a few years and got to see TJ bowl as well as a couple other pros, in my youth I had aspirations of making it on the tour and really looked up to TJ, such a legend. Sadly my tour dreams never became a reality but I'm just getting back into the sport and seeing interviews like this is really awesome and motivates me to get back out there.
Definitely don't give up when you are off your game. Bowled my first PBA Regional this weekend and was -97 after 2. Games 3-5 were better but nothing over 190. Game 6 made a ball change and went 247, 203 (1 split) , 194 (2 splits). Just keep grinding and be willing to try something if nothing is working. Finding something when you are struggling is a huge confidence booster.
I bowled 8 regionals before my first cash and I got a title. But it took a lot of work and a lot of changing my game. It is so worth it for the results you will see. Keep bowling and keep learning. You will get it and don't give up
@@bowlnow824 I'm not giving up, but I'm old for today's game. I get to start doing PBA50 events next month. But I'm still going to mix in some regular regionals. Bowling with and watching the younger bowlers is fun.
I'm 54 and and started bowling at 11. I made my first tournament final ever this weekend. Sweat was pouring off me and I had four splits in the final to get blown out. I didn't think of the pressure as a privilege at the time but it sure feels good later. Hopefully, I will appreciate the privilege more again some day :)
Packy This one of the best videos you have made keep them coming. So informative. Always thought Tommy was quiet and reserved. He a book of information and inspiration
This is such a fantastic video! From all of the bowling tips to showing just how much fun this sport can be. All bowlers regardless of their average, should watch this video. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Love this great advice I have gone from from a 165 in League to a 195 ,Just stop being my worst enemy, Tommy Jones thank you for sharing all the great , experience you have Had in bowling, please keep the Great videos coming ,
😂😂 ahhh..he killed me with the Bo Burton comment. He's absolutely right though. Literally all we had, while watching the great Earl Anthony do his thing. That was awesome. Appreciate the laugh Mr. Jones! 🤟✌👍👏👏
Thank you for "showing" everyone this side of Tommy Jones. He is a great guy, bowler and mentor for bowlers. Awesome advice and kudos to you Packy...and your folks who help...on another great video.
I needed this video. I bowled in a tournament at a house in the middle of nowhere yesterday. All wood lanes and wood approach. I had never bowled on wood lanes before. Long story short I bowled the worst I’ve bowled that I can recall in my adult career. It made me want to actually never bowl again. But like tommy said I learned a lot on what not to do when the mini tour stops there next year. Thanks for that.
Thank you Packy for this. I have been a closet Tommy Jones fan since I first saw him on TV back in the day. I won't admit it being a lefty but yeah I like Tommy Jones especially his hit song "She's a Lady" LOL!!! Seriously though this series of videos talking with legends is brilliant! More please.
Im a lefty bowler and ive been watching your videos and learning to do two hands and I enjoy bowling and im a big fan of you packy and becoming a two handed bowler im loving it so much
Super interview, Packy! This and the Belmo both outshine 'pro' interviews by virtue of real questions with heartfelt replies as opposed to the stock-in-trade with vanilla answer or controversy-of-the-moment ones that force the interviewee to choose a side to an issue (s)he doesn't want to talk about, neither of which actually interview the person. Nice job; good insight.
TJ is a class act. I've loved watching him throughout my life and truly could see both his passion to win but his love for the sport overall. It's much like you Packy. We are both Kansans but haven't met, but I love what you are doing for the sport, love what you're doing to represent us in the Midwest, and just love how you are as a professional bowler. I believed I could be that good, had several reality checks, and am now just trying my best to revamp my game to be the best I CAN be, not what you guys are BUILT for! Keep kicking ass in all ways!
Tommy Jones is one of the best of all time hands down! I really enjoyed this, Packy I think you're only getting better and better. You need to teach TJ to celebrate 😂
I loved your answer to the "getting over the hump" question. In a similar video to this, Birgit Noreiks was talking about her training and mentioned the same thing. That she didn't just want to be excellent at one thing and ignore the rest, but at least be competitive in all the playstyles without ignoring what she's best at. And it served the both of you well. 💪
This video helps so much i’ve been bowling for a solid 7-8 months recently joined a mixed league near me and been feeling a little stuck on my improvement till now
Awesome video. I love hearing this kind of things. My coach in high-school wanted me to go pro, I ended up chosing to focus in getting an engineering degree but always wondered what it would have been like going a different route. It's been cool seeing the other side of pro bowling besides the show on TV
I seen Tommy at junior gold last year. Last day two lanes over was a guy he was coaching. I didn’t meet him but it was really cool to see him in person
Im a huge Darren Tang fan but Tommy’s 300 at the Hall of Fame classic was absolutely legendary. I always rewatch it when it pops up on my recommended feed
OMG, I'm so glad to hear a pro with the same pet peeve I have! I'm not saying you have to rush, but when you are up be ready to bowl! I left a league team that I had been on for years because we had 1 teammate that wouldn't get out of his chair when he was up. He is the nicest guy and we are still friends, but I couldn't take bowling with him.
Thanks Tommy....I wasn't sure if Packy was a Boston sports fan....Connecticut could mean NY or Boston....but now I know. Cool that you're a Boston fan Packy! Says this guy from just east of Boston, but not East Boston.
This one is an absolute treasure chest of information. Going to make sure my kids watch this. Here's a question/suggestion for you Packy. Having the guys that bowl on tour is a ton of great information. Can you get one of the ball reps that we see you guys go talk to during the match? I'd love to hear what they say and what they're seeing during a tour stop.
I've been watching for a couple years and I picked up bowling about 6 months ago I'm decent I suppose lol but definitely gonna be using this advice!!! Keep up the amazing videos
This local bowling alley, i dunno if this kid is like the owners kid, or how he's related to whoever owns the bowling alley, but he legit still stand on the lane for minutes before every shot. He's like 15 and we'll have conversations on the lanes about his bowling, makes it so frustrating waiting for him.
"You guys can watch videos, you guys are gonna learn a lot, watching me and packy throw shots. I didn't have that" Being able to learn from these pros first hand is such a privilege.
the advice could be applied to any sport and most of life. sports teach you so many lessons you can apply to life! how to lose, focus, win, deal with competition, literally everything in life!
You put out a lot of good content but these are quickly becoming your best ones. Too bad Norm won't roll 'em anymore, because he would have been a great subject. Chris Barnes probably needs to be featured here more than anyone else I can think of who is still bowling. Parker Bohn would be another good one. Walter if you can get him. Stu Williams is always entertaining. But I'd also like to see some of the younger guys to get their perspective in the newer era. Kris Prather is really good in Q&A formats while he bowls. E.J. would be good to hear from. Bill O'Neill as well.
Good to know I'll always be a part of TJ's memories 😭
😅🥺🥺
New memories at the league when we get em back for ya 💪🏼
This interview and the one with Belmo are pure gold. Absolutely loved them.
Tommy Jones is a legend and loved his advice
He's got some great advice!
@@TheHouseBowlingabsolutely and he's a cool man that I meet. Glad u get to bowl with him

Great show! Thanks Packy and Tommy.
Just wow! "Pressure is a privilege". I never thought of it that way. That definitely changes how I look at pressure. Thanks Packy and Tommy.
"Pressure is a privilege" That's deep stuff. But, you earned that pressure! Enjoy it and make the most of it!
This was so cool to watch! I would love to see you do one of these with Pete Weber!
That would be awesome!
Keep doing these. The legends you've talked to have dropped gems. Mental advice that will NEVER go away.
These are always great videos.
Much Love TJ!!! thanks for the vid Packy!!!! 💯💯💯💯

Wonderful video -- perhaps the best one you've put out yet. Keep it up.
I saw myself in the background haha I was bowling a few lanes over while y’all were making the video.
