I’ve started with this lifestyle about 2 months ago thanks to you. From one of your videos, I then discovered The Minimalists and have been listening to their podcast since. From there on, I discovered a book by Dan Harris called 10% Happier. As a person battling with major depression and borderline personality disorder, this whole process has been enlightening and eye opening for me. So thank you. Keep up with the good content ❤️
Hello... aware - in a general sense-of the health issues you mentioned, but wanted to say so glad you started 2 months ago and that it’s been helpful to you, @ Afifah Zulkefli. I’ve heard if that Dan Harris book- we saw some interviews- he was a journalist who had on- air panic attack I think. Anyway, we like the intentionality and value of things so this is appealing. Take care. Greetings from Chicago.🙂
Hi Afifah, thanks for the kind comment and support! I'm so glad to hear that minimalism and living intentionally is doing well for you! I should check out the book soon. Hope you are doing well. I'll continue to work on more meaningful videos. Meanwhile stay safe and positive! ❤🙏
“ Why” for me = Less Visual Distraction so I Can Focus Better [am in IT]. Liked point of not tossing/donating everything but being conscious of what one might need and value. Thx for beautiful vid- watched twice.
Hi, CK! High quality content as always. And all good reminders for those of us who have been on the minimalist path for some time now, but have not quite decluttered everything just yet! I’m glad you focussed on the different ways to mindfully discard things. The chore of properly getting rid of stuff is, I think, one of the best deterrents for not bringing more stuff into our lives. Now, most times (but still not always), when I am considering a potential purchase I also think about where it will go when it no longer serves me. Why, just this morning at the Oxxo (Mexican 7-11), I had to decide between buying a tin can of beans and beans in a plastic pouch. I chose the tin because it is more easily recycled, and even if it doesn’t get recycled, it will break down thousands of years sooner than the plastic! As always, fabulous edits! The sequence with the clothes pegs was so fun to watch! How many takes did you need to get them to fall just right? Saludos desde México 🇲🇽!
Hello JoAnn! Glad to know that it serves well as a reminder for you and you are using to make better decision that aligns with your value! 👍Thanks for sharing!
I look forward to every tuesdays for your uploads because it's always so timely and it brings so much value to my life. Plus, the quality of your videos is amazing! Love from 🇵🇭
I think i inheritied my immigrant Parent's hoarding habits as they grew up not owning alot of stuff. Now that we live in the U.S. we have much more random items just because we can,and I don't blame my parents for that since they grew up in rural villages so this Western Lifestyle is new to them. For me though,I'd like to declutter my living space Marie Kondo-style so this video helps alot.
Thank you so much for creating this channel. It really adds a lot of value to my life. I find that when I'm dealing with stress or anxiety I often watch one of your videos. It relaxes me and helps remind me that anyone can be a minimalist if you just take it one step at a time. Keep up the excellent work!
Thanks for the useful and actionable video for all of us trying to get started! I totally agree that the "why" is super important whenever starting something. For me, minimalism is about more freedom/time and less stress/fatigue.
Set your rules for minimalism. Minimalism is different for everyone. Start with a clean slate. As much as we all hate to admit it, there are some items in our homes that are just junk.
I only few things left that just sit around collecting dust from before the digital age took over. Dvds, cds, 1 alarm clock, pokemon cards, 1 harry potter book, A couple of pc games from when they use to come on discs and not just digital codes. As a Millennial I'm kind of jelly of Gen Z they get a clean slate right at the start of the digital era of everything lol. I'm currently 26 and already feel like a dinosaur lol.
I really appreciate you making these type of videos. They're so well edited and very nice to hear for more knowledge on minimalism. You're also very inspiring with your videos especially the minimalism challenge video. It spurred me to try it out as well.
I keep on falling for u, watching every videos. How simply u put together all difficult to-dos. M one of those who wants to take the path of minimalism. I requested for this video and Thank you, this is exactly what I needed rn. Hope I can be a minimalist someday.
Definitely needed the reminder to reconnect with my intentions behind minimalism. Coming to the end of the minimalism challenge and looking forward to the future!
Thank you for this CK. Even though I live alone, don't technically have much (as people would tell me), & I don't have furniture (I'm not trying to permanently stay where I am forever so I choose not to buy any). I still have a lot of crap. Bad habit of holding on to papers, it's bad. But I plan to go through it all & then my other things. I try my best to only buy what I need or buy something I know will last me longer then the previous item. I don't have an issue with going through & getting rid of things. It's just having to get the motivation to do it & also deal with my mental health as well..... I've moved so many times that I'm tired of having to haul so much stuff. Some things that are useful & other things I hold onto that are hard to let go but I need to. When I look at all the packed stuff it just makes me want to throw everything away & start over! But then again I'm very particular about things so I would still go through it. Have you ever had moments in your past where you felt overwhelmed by your things, to the point where it made you want to just throw it all away? But you knew you had to go through it but just didn't want to, knowing it'll bite you in the butt later? (Sorry for the long ramble CK 😣 )
I don't consider myself as a minimalist yet, but I have started to follow your steps and advices. Since I am a cosplayer I have many tools and costumes to store, but they still bring me joy and I still wear them occasionally. And minimalism also brings effect to my spendings and studies too.
i really do need to take it easy because ive been almost obsessively decluttering for the past month. its not too much at this point, but after decluttering over half my possessions, I still feel as though there's a lot I should get rid of. I always feel I'm holding on to too many sentimental things, that are not even giving me any value. But I should take it slower, I guess. Before I over-declutter. I'm a compulsive person, especially when it comes to decluttering and cleaning. I'm always feeling like I could declutter more.
I HAVE BEEN DOING THE SAME! I keep trying to convince myself to keep it for now, at least, and maybe try again later on if I do end up not needing it! Also what helped me was taking polaroids of sentimental items that I really felt I shouldn't keep anymore. I hope you can overcome that feeling!
I have been watching your videos for a few months now, and you really inspired me to start my own minimalism journey! Thank you for providing us with your tips and information. All is so clear and easy to follow. And I appreciate the effort you put into all your videos !! :)
I just started on my minimalism journey last month. My reason for practicing minimalism is because I want to free myself from the anxiety and depression. I want to overcome procrastination and become more productive. And I found that minimalism has helped that part of my problem. Decluttering unecessary and unused items felt like a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulder. Minimalism also helped me become mindful of what I purchase. It taught me to be grateful and content of what I have now and to be resourceful, instead of always looking at what others have and constantly compare myself. Buying only the things I need at the moment, and not giving in to impulses. I am improving at self-discipline as well. My room is easy to clean up now also.
i like the way you explain things. i literally rewatch your videos to calm and stay positive. Your edits are too good!! Even somebody that doesn't understand english can catches a few things about consept of the video (for example my mom). Started to become minimalist at the begining of Covid thing because living with too much stuff while quarantine drowned me. Thank you for these great videos and Have a nice day ^^

I love the concept of paperless, and i'm currently on the journey of converting to using digital notes. But for my daily journal, I still prefer to have a physical book.
I haven't been needing my school notes for years, if they are required for your exams, i think keep them organised is crucial! 👍
@@CKSPACE After you decided to go paperless completely, please make a video about it. I use Notions, goodnotes for organising and note taking.
@@CKSPACE I use 30/30 rules and wishlist when i wanted to buy something. But sometimes its so hard to fight my desire. I would say your advice helps a lot. Looking forward to more videos. Cheers!
