Lovely stuff. Being a sincere Christian in my view includes the willingness to be confused. An open mind, a mind open to the fresh blasts of wisdom, must embrace paradoxes, hypocritical actions, and fundamental inconsistency at times. These all belong to the tests of God to get the best out of us.

Brainy McBoltzmannface Isn’t fascinating how far we’ve advanced, in knowledges and technology. How we can word sentences with such wisdom and we use science as our new God? As the end all be all because we only accept the physical. Seems a bit hypocritical to me doesn’t it. You speak because you lack peace of mind , and are angry because of things that have occurred to you. It bothers you that God could forgive ppl who have killed and raped. I’m glad they’re a God that forgives. That doesn’t mean do those things they’re still consequences. But God can forgive. It’s not about ego, it’s about letting go of the ego we branch on to. Looking at these comments of God is dead. God doesn’t exist. All paradigms in a never ending shift for false power

I was a winner in every sense of the term growing up in the 90's. I excelled at sports, theatre and creative writing and loved every second of it. The church however told me that my focus was in the wrong direction, even though i was happy and they told me that to live a more meaningful and spiritual life i needed to focus more on the holy book.
Needless to say they slowly destroyed my confidence and self-esteem until i was just a lost, miserable human being.
I despise religion and how it feels the need to break people down and force people into a particular mindset. Best thing i ever did was getting away from the church and its babbling dictatorship and fraudulence.

Life should not be that hard. It should be very simple. We really do not need to get lost in this mental maze that most people try to weave. We should live our lives the best way we can, with empathy and consideration for others. We do not need to get lost in religions for this. I feel too many people over complicate that which should be so simple.

We often learn by scaffold. We use what we know about a thing to guide and to build on that knowledge with new things. Approach people with what they already know and add rather than detract from their point of view. Allow them to do the same to you, then see where the truth shakes out.

When it comes to practical solutions of 'what do we do about it?', I think the answer is staring us in the face, so to speak. We must ask the questions and continue the dialogue ie. understanding of others and comprehension of our collective perceptions. Once we stop seeking to share our perceptions and simply talk at each other, then we have ceased to dialogue and progress has halted. How can we structure society to do that effectively? Technology has given us some great tools. The creative use of that technology in a podcast format is part of that evolution of discussion about our perceptions.
I now know how two other people see things in the world. My comment will communicate my views to others. All who participate in the dialogue are brought a small step closer to universal understanding.

except when that same technology is used to isolate people in a closed loop, in which they injest the same propaganda, spread it amongst each other, and keep totally separate from their neighbors, due to a political schism, burning even hotter from the gasoline thrown on it by our leaders and social media moguls as they seek to divide us further, to profit off of our division.

Russel i come with love to warn you, Satan is deceiving you. Do not let mans sinful acts tarnish Gods holy Truth. Religion says DO, Jesus says DONE. Their is NOTHING you can do through religion that can grant you salvation. Gods Living Word is just that. Gods WORD, not his religion, religion is mans way of putting their own doctrines and beliefs on top of what God said. Connecting to God and being in a religion are two VERY different things. And no, im not speaking on the false teachings of New Age that teach you to think of yourself as god and worship gods creation in favor of the creator, im talking about an actual personal relationship with the TRUE God of Abraham, of Moses.
Repent and Trust in him and you will understand the truths im speaking.
I was blinded the same as Russel and many i see in the comments right now. I understand you all want to improve, to find meaning, to find truths. God is the way, connect to him and experience the thing that has been staring you in the face since you were born. Men love to overcomplicate Gods simple words, they cant come to terms with the simplicity of his Love.

In my opinion, we don't have to make things perfect or better with some grand picture that we hope to achieve in record speed of time (ie. Unless it's quite visbly and evidently a life threatening emergency that requires immediate attention or the situation will get worse very quickly). It doesn't work like that because as far as we know, convenience (in my opinion, is very much a biological instinctual drive for material reliance for "quick fix survival" with avoidance/invalidation/numbing of emotions such as pain) isn't the one and only driver, value or barometer to measure the quality and integrity in the resolution of life's constant insufferable problems. Not only can it feel and be overwhelming and psychologically challenging but it can also be unsustainably risky and detrimental for our existence, purpose and wellbeing (and perhaps is the meaning and reason why it feels so overwhelming and demotivating to achieve grand goals with grand, convenient speed). I think it's more sustainably constructive and healthy in just having to start on making the seemingly (as far as we know) inevitable terrible things... well... less terrible than they already are FIRST before we emerge and merge with a bigger picture,ie. The destination (as it's constantly evolving in some level or another as we journey our various paths). Start with the smallest, less overwhelming step first. Dip half of your toe in the water and experiment lightly. Reduce and/or manage rather than eliminate. Acknowledge and validate rather than banish or ignore. We can't eliminate/remove without damaging other things or the same exact matter we're trying to eliminate/remove first. I think we are so far away from this at the moment from this big step and it's definitely not some push of a button that makes it all disappear. That's not an optimal way to go and we've seen this happen over again like running into a brick wall constantly as far as we can see. It's like getting a level 1 character in a game to try and beat a level 800 boss. That's ridiculous in my opinion and the consequences are self-evident with the ongoing worsening of suffering and the management/use of suffering to contend it. For me, if in doubt, turn towards balance and a search for peae on all dimensions on a physical/hedonistic, psychological and spiritual/eudaimonistic level - and derive your own unique, balanced path from these foundations. I think that predicates morality and other personal intrinsic values such as trust, honesty, kindness, love, loyalty, generosity, respect, non-final judgement, validation, support, growth, evolution, openness to learning and perspective, etc. And we don't have to believe in God or any other religion or construct, label, etc. per se - whether we believe they're true and exist or not (it's just more conceptual and understandable to articulate matters verbally and behavourally in this manner at the very "bottom line" of it) - to develop your path of "enlightenment" and wisdom... because at the heart of it, it still pertains to the intrinsic values of wellness, peace, strength and transcendence by listening to our feelings with helpful intent for oneself and for others.

mmm my personal anxiety as a punk rocker for 25 years in a society built on control is a story that no one wants to hear and then admit to believeing it cuz truth is never fun to hear if you avoid the truth. I wasn't always neurotic, society by design caused my mental health issues. Can't widdle it down to evolution(I wish). Societies leaders create these false narratives to keep freedom of thought the enemy.

    • @sparshparimoo
      @sparshparimoo 5 років тому +2

Todd Rocket I didn’t say anxiety wasn’t real. Trauma can cause all kinds of issues, and life isn’t easy for anything alive.
But he mentioned that anxiety over hierarchy is because of society and that’s not the entire truth. Hierarchy is part of the animal kingdom, and wanting to be high on the ladder is built in by evolution for survival. U can’t just ignore biology.
When u feel bitter if ur peers do better than you, while you stay low on the social hierarchy, it’s neurological wiring, not just storytelling. We keep telling ourselves that we’ll be perfect if we just have the right thoughts, and when we eventually fail, we blame society.
Not everything is society’s fault. We’re fighting a lot of biological coding. Sometimes the lizard brain will win. The cortex will fail. It’s ok. Forgive ur self and carry on.
Don’t pretend it’s all because of social oppression. It’s not.

I do enjoy this dialogue but People miss the big picture on what Jesus did as He was here. I don’t understand why they totally miss out on the supernatural aspects of it. Jesus actually healed people instead of wanting “universal healthcare” he fed over 5000 people by a tiny amount of food. This shows that he didn’t need the worlds system to live life and live it abundantly. It goes beyond what the physical eyes can see and probably goes along the lines what scientist are just beginning to find out about quantum physics.
So I think the term “doing greater works” is talking about the supernatural that He performed giving people the hope and realization that God our Father wants the best for us. Salvation (Sozo) doesn’t mean getting a ticket into heaven but means, deliverance, emotional and physical healing. And we can’t look to the worlds system to rescue us but to God. This is the only way we can exit the matrix. I think people get very confused about what Jesus actually did. He didn’t want a socialism or capitalism but He gave us the keys to walk above all of that so we didn’t have to be a slave to any world system. we can overcome this world because He did.

Dignity, morals and honor are lost in my generation, and when I voice this the internet collective outrage culture assumes first that I am a man and then that I am an incel. I am neither. I'm not religious. I have absolutely no problem with beautiful women showing off their assets or using their assets for gains. What pisses me off is specifically is the females who use their bodies (breasts on display AND actively flirting with the audience in sexual ways, sending out alerts saying the flash their tits if so many people show up to a stream.. things like this.) and then turn around and pretend to be outraged when they attract the kind of person who is attracted to that kind of behavior. Usually they will take a screenshot of a viewer message asking for sexual things and lose their s*** on some form of social media condemning the person in an open forum. I am not saying the person they are condemning is worth defending because that usually is not the case. My experience is if you then question that person, very simply ask," if you act a certain way why do you expect any different? " Holy hell the shitstorm you will invoke. Almost every time this conversation has come up that I've seen the other party will quickly answer my question, by stating that I personally said they should be raped. I am not kidding. So when it comes to morals and honor and dignity we as a society can't even begin to question why these things are lost on us. If I question this I am wishing rape on women. Why? Why bother having an intellectual conversation with anybody anymore?

@Drill Sergeant Dharma I in no way want this to come off across as mean. I welcome open debate. what does your comment have anything to do with what I said or questioned? Also I work in the medical field and have seen too many people died due to "alternative medicine". It just happens when you work in Cancer care, people have freedom of choice and they do choose "Chinese medicine" or other alternatives often enough. These people more often than not die. Guess who's more likely to die of anything blood loss related? Jehovah's witnesses. And it just comes down to the spiritual beliefs. So pretty much for my personal experience you cannot pray a terminal illness away. Therefore what you said at the end there could more less be taken as offensively ignorant.

Either Jesus was who He claimed to be or He was a lunatic or a liar but he can’t just be some kind of a good moral teacher or wise guru to take out of context and add bits a pieces to your philosophy.
    34Then Peter began to speak:
“I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism, 35but welcomes those from every nation who fear Him and do what is right.
36He has sent this message to the people of Israel, proclaiming the gospel of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.
37You yourselves know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee with the baptism that John proclaimed:
38how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him.
39We are witnesses of all that He did, both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem.
And although they put Him to death by hanging Him on a tree, 40God raised Him up on the third day and caused Him to be seen- 41not by all the people,
but by the witnesses God had chosen beforehand, by us who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead. 42And He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that He is the One appointed by God
to judge the living and the dead.
43All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.”
~ Book of Acts chapter 10
There is no middle ground with Jesus. You either believe that He is the Son of God and will judge all people or you do not.
    Jesus made unambiguous truth claims.

Dear Mr Brand and Ms Oldfield, Thank you Mr Brand for your endless struggle to bring to the forefront issues that confront us all. What I would like to ask - because I don't know, and I don't want to judge -- What I want to ask is if both of you adhere to the Christian faith? Do you believe for example that Jesus did exist? I am torn to pieces by faith, because it doesn't seem to be backed up by historical facts. Also, and I have tried this with my Muslim friends, who by the way must believe every word in the Quran or they can be killed! I ask them to they really believe that when Muhammad died that he rode a winged horse into Heaven like it says in the Quran? All of them have a sudden need to go to the loo or Something, because they know it's absurd but they want to go home and have a life. Christianity shows itself out of touch when in the Gospels when Jesus is asked why his Disciples don't wash, for example, and he defends it by saying something like it doesn't matter if they do and in turn showing that he is on the same page as bronze age people as far as hygiene is concerned. People died like flies of dysentery, and a host of other illnesses directly linked to personal hygiene, but Jesus never told his followers to not drink tainted water or not to do things that could have saved countless lives. He was a God-man, and he should have known what was potentially poisonous that his followers were imbibing. Equally, there is no mention of the Holy Birth, Mary, Joseph, Bethlehem, Nazareth etc., in the epistles the so-called earliest writings of the Christian Church. What is amazing is of the 75 historians alive at the time of Jesus' supposed Ministry, there is no mention by any of them of a Holy Man doing miracles. What say you?

There’s a man who talks of spirit,
as though it hasn’t come to pass,
since before we all grew glass-eyed
in the blinding light of class.
How I’d like to walk beside him
    and believe in fairy tales,
but I’ve never seen this man before,
and so stay trodden down the rails.
Of course he too once trembled,
    a drunkard on a high.
Yet still he found his place among
    those agents in the sky.
His old mates said he was better off
    since leaving them behind,
    to tremble on their barstools
    and work their daily grind.
To them he says to follow,
    since suffering’s so unkind.
    In this grand fairy tale,
    love salvages the blind.
He’d have us think we're crazy
to deny we’ve all gone mad.
He’d relieve us of our costumes
    that dramatize what’s sad.
And then I finally met him,
    one night in Liverpool.
He took me by the hand,
and plucked me off my stool.
I felt at once his power,
the love from which he speaks.
And though he’s just a man,
he’s an agent for us freaks.

When l compare myself to others, l haven't done much. But l am a person who has many many disablities. But few people understand that, or respect the difference between you and a so called normal person. It's not like l am stupid, but today's tech is a test. So much fun !!! Till you post again, bye Russell!🍁🦃🎃💜🍁🦃🎃💜🍁🦃🎃💜🍁🦃🎃💜🦃🍁🎃💜🍁🦃🎃💜🍁🦃🎃💜🍁🦃🎃💜🍁🦃🎃💜🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃💜💜💜💜💜💜🎃🎃🎃🎃
