I remember watching I Love Lucy since I was around six years old I had a sad childhood and watching I Love Lucy brought a ton of joy into my life. So I decided I had to give something back. When I was 23 years old around 1975 a friend of mine told me her address. That weekend I bought the biggest bouquet of flowers that I could carry and Atwood My Heart Beating A Thousand Miles a minute I walked up the walkway and knocked on the door figuring that the housekeeper would answer it and I would give her the flowers with a note on it and ask the person to please give it to Lucy. Well to my shock Lucy open the door herself and I didn't know what to say and she did know what to say but she just started crying and she said are those for me and I said yes and I thanked her for all those years of joy that she and the rest of the cast provided for me while I was a little kid. She gave me a big hug and I said I didn't want to take up any more of your time and that I left. But that's the day I will remember forever. Obviously. Thank you so much! That is such a lovely comment and I appreciate it tremendously! I just uploaded a video on Elizabeth Montgomery's home, which is rarer :) Stay safe!
DrGariS “YOU ARE SO WELCOME!” I so loved your incredible story( I think of my dear mom who passed away two yrs ago, every time I see or hear anything pertaining to Lucille Ball! We all used to buy her gifts w/ “Lucy’s image on it!”) and I so loved “Lucy” myself. You have absolutely just the “coolest” most heart warming story too, about your interaction with her( or any ⭐️ Star)! Thanks again for your great post ! ❤️PS I absolutely will look at your video on Elizabeth Montgomery’s house. I soooo love seeing where stars used to live ( stars from the past) & all types of star’s homes, in movies or music, that are popular today too! I so would love to see homes where Annette Funicello, Sandra Dee, Walt Disney, Paul Anka, etc lived in their heyday ( & even now but only Paul Anka is still alive, sadly!). I love musical & movie stars from the 1950’s & 1960’s in particular!❤️God Bless!

Oh, the new owners completely RUINED Lucy's house. You can't even recognize it anymore! If I purchased Lucy's house, I would have restored it to its original glory, not changed it completely! It looks HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
kurtsupreme Isn’t that incredible? It’s almost like having the responsibility to keep it as a historical landmark I would argue! The same owners have been there for a while though. I wonder who they are???
They ruin the house and showed it no respect when they were ripping it apart after they purchased it they were throwing everything into a dumpster a friend of mine pulled the front door from it - They also petition with the city of Beverly Hills to have the address changed because to many people were coming by and looking at it no shit you bought Lucille Ball’s home - I wish HGTV would buy it and Do a Brady Bunch on it …it’s just gross
I really enjoyed your video I admired all the old actresses and actors I hope you have more videos of all the old actors that we cherished so much thanks to guys like you we get to see iconic homes thank you very much thumbs up
We honeymooned in CA 9/89, Lucy had passed earlier in the year. We walked up from Rodeo and I recall Gary’s Bentley in the driveway. Took the family a long time to sell it due to the economy, not like the prices today. Nice walking tour!

I was in California in May of 1989, 1 month after Lucy passed away, it was a awesome home, and should have been restored not updated, we took a tour bus thru, wrote directions and drove back thru later, down the block is the alley way where the bum in down and out in Beverly Hills was found
Pontiac GrandPrix73 hey thanks for the comment. I know that house and it’s not far from Lexington/Roxbury but it is actually on Elevado and Bedford (I think). :)
That’s really amazing. I now live in the neighborhood and the funny thing is that when I was a little kid I wantEd get off of the car and knock on her door and my aunt told me she would kill me if I did that. I was in front of her home and I wish I would’ve bolted for the door!!! I regret not doing that.
@@DrGariS I did knock and asked for Desi jr. it’s when Dino, Desi, and Billy were a group. The maid said he wasn’t home. Then I went to Dean Martins house and saw kids playing basketball. Trippy🐾😎
So cool... Great seeing more detailed view of it. They actually did a decent job remodeling it, while keeping it recognizable. I've sometime driven up and down Roxbury at night after work assignment I used to have in Beverly Hills - Dreaming, as some of us poor folks do. Had wondered where her house was. Imagine *how loaded* you have to be to remodel a house in Beverly Hills?!
I've been at this house years ago. Me and my friend looked into the backyard from the alleyway. We had to stand on the rooftop of my car! Guest House in the backyard. Nice yard
I saw her maid in the doorway when I was 9 years old and we were touring Beverly Hills. I wanted to hang around and watch for Lucy but my parents had other ideas. Beautiful home BEFORE they re-modeled.
The now hipped roof dormers on the edge of the roof replacing the original through the cornice gable-roofed dormers now look especially superfluous now that the eave or cornice extends right through them.

So much emotion for me because I know the joy and dreams they had when it was purchased but it became a palace of pain at the end of that marriage. Lonely nights wondering who Desi was with that night.
the cheap sale price is probably due to an internal trust sale within the family. lucie arnaz mentions in her interview with the Archive of American Television that the people that bought it from them still live there, and that they are in the fashion business.
Lisa B I lived a few blocks away and I was extremely comfortable there. Maybe it was like that 16 years ago - not sure. Beverly Hills is generally extremely clean. I lived south of SM Blvd and still super great to me. I’ve never loved living anywhere better. The BHPD was always great when I needed or worked with them.

I sure miss Lucy and her friends, the house was beautiful, I was wandering where Vivian and William's houses were never seen those before, could you check it out!! Thank you!!
@@DrGariS I was going to say Bill probably lived very simply and I was thinking boarding house or a bungalow type residence! They didn't have Lucy's wealth, not even in the same league! Vivian had a decent career, I'm sure her home was lovely and homey!
It is the same house. They showed Lucy and Vivian walking up to the house across the lawn. It was supposed to be Richard Widmark's house, but it was really Lucy's house.
I read somewhere that Lucy bought this house for only $85,000. It's crazy that these old Hollywood stars' homes were much cheaper back then than they are today!
I haven’t seen a home yet that’s better after one of those renovations they don’t have any real feelings to them either know because my late parents home had to be after a fire never the same!!
I enjoyed your tour videos a lot. I loved Lucy, and I had read before how the present owners changed her home a lot after purchasing it, and that someone saw Lucy's ghost (!) standing in the driveway looking at the house probably wondering what the heck happened to it! I have tried to find out what Golden Age celebrities still actually live in Hollywood or Bel Air, but it keeps showing homes of the younger celebrities! So would all the crooks!
Erin Dinneen 😄😄😄😄
Hallowed ground as far as I’m concerned. Thank you 😊 for this.
It’s a special home
I so loved your commentary & found you so interesting!! You have such thoughtful information and loved everything that you had to say concerning Lucy & Desi’s home. Great post/video!
You do such great videos! My fascination of California and famous people passed when all of my favorite actors and actresses did. What a WONDERFUL era it was! I would come there to walk with you though. You have respect, appreciation and a love of the place you live and the stories it holds. Only the best to you💯😘
I seen that home a few years ago along with Jack Benny's very cool.
You actually "seen it"?
I love love Jack Benny would love to see his house and things about the old stars
I had Love every thing about Lucy evey one in my home as to my father he had to see it so when i was growing up i was sad when she pass but i know one day we all have to go my parents are gone that is why we have to enjoy while we are here on earth we don't take any thing with us if i see some joke about Lucy still love it favourite the never get no one like her again
@@DrGariS I don't know nor do I care...............they wrecked Lucy's house!!!!!!!!!!!!!
kurtsupreme :(
They ruin the house and showed it no respect when they were ripping it apart after they purchased it they were throwing everything into a dumpster a friend of mine pulled the front door from it - They also petition with the city of Beverly Hills to have the address changed because to many people were coming by and looking at it no shit you bought Lucille Ball’s home - I wish HGTV would buy it and Do a Brady Bunch on it …it’s just gross
Improvement
I love seeing these homes of past stars. Thank you so much. 🇱🇷🙏♥️
I’m so happy you enjoyed it
I really enjoyed your video I admired all the old actresses and actors I hope you have more videos of all the old actors that we cherished so much thanks to guys like you we get to see iconic homes thank you very much thumbs up
Thank you so very much - glad you enjoyed
We honeymooned in CA 9/89, Lucy had passed earlier in the year. We walked up from Rodeo and I recall Gary’s Bentley in the driveway. Took the family a long time to sell it due to the economy, not like the prices today. Nice walking tour!
Wish they would have kept it
Very cool!
I liked the way it looked with Lucy❤️ Not remodeled on the outside.
Same!
Thank you thank you thank you! I enjoyed this video very much as well as your commentary. Love looking at beautiful homes and I am a docent at a historical home built in 1864. I look forward to your next video
You are so welcome!
The original mansion was gorgeous 👌🏼Thank you for the videoclip.
You’re so welcomed
5am..just Discovered you and really enjoyed this!
GOTTA BE ME that’s a great comment and you made my day!!!! Also I just uploaded one on Elizabeth Montgomery’s place. Hope to see more comments from you! :)
Love the old house
Tracy Bryson wasn’t it beautiful?
The front gates look original. The hearts give it away.
I was lucky enough to see it before modernization. So cool.😎🐾
Thanks for watching!
I've been at this house years ago. Me and my friend looked into the backyard from the alleyway. We had to stand on the rooftop of my car! Guest House in the backyard. Nice yard
Haha, sounds fun. Thanks for watching! :)
It was great thank you! I like the house better before the new owners renovated it, so beautiful!
Thank you for the tour!
California Gal I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I saw her maid in the doorway when I was 9 years old and we were touring Beverly Hills. I wanted to hang around and watch for Lucy but my parents had other ideas. Beautiful home BEFORE they re-modeled.
Wow how awesome is that
Thank you for sharing🥰 I wish I can pass here one day
You should!
I really like it before the renovation . They should have left it the way it was.
Abbgale Dillon sane here! Almost everyone feels the same way!
The now hipped roof dormers on the edge of the roof replacing the original through the cornice gable-roofed dormers now look especially superfluous now that the eave or cornice extends right through them.
Awesome photo taken of Hollywood actors & actresses homes where they lived amazing photos
The stark white paint was much prettier than the tan yellow on Lucy's house.
Robin Johnson I so agree with you!
That makes three of us!
It's a very nice area very quiet and safe. ♥️
It really is!
👍🏾👍🏾 Thankyou for showing 😊❤️
You are so welcome
Whatever a person accumulate on "Earth" you better enjoy it, because You can't take it with you!!!!!!!!!!!..
Facts! 😉
b Jupiter ..... Didn't one guy make his wife bury him with all his money? 💰 he took it with him! 😲 can't use it! 💵 but he took it! .... Lol 😆
@@bettyschneider5268 well if he took it to the grave with him, that was only til the service was over and then either the wife took it back or if she left it, the undertaker got it 😂
Lol, for damn sure
Which is why the house is still standing!
This is sobering an great at the same time to see these GREAT ACTORS homes,oh how I wish they where still here I would not have change anything the home of Lucy’s not one bit. I miss them all.!!!!!!!!
Im so happy you enjoyed this video. I have a few more if you want to look at them.
So much emotion for me because I know the joy and dreams they had when it was purchased but it became a palace of pain at the end of that marriage. Lonely nights wondering who Desi was with that night.
I’m sure. That’s such a touching comment to write!!!
I enjoyed seeing Lucy Ball house.
I grew up watching Lucy.
So much loud and constant street traffic. Busy corner.
I bet it was much, much quieter when Lucy lived there. SO many more people have cars now than there was decades ago.
It is not so busy at night at all
the cheap sale price is probably due to an internal trust sale within the family. lucie arnaz mentions in her interview with the Archive of American Television that the people that bought it from them still live there, and that they are in the fashion business.
Wow, no way. How interesting!!! Wow
Jimmy Stuart I loved him and Javk Benny and of course Lucy ... she reminds me of my mom.
Thank you for sharing My friend u seems very good person u just doing your stuff from good entention to share with us beautiful .👍
Hey thanks for the lovely comment
Awesome
Where is part one ?i loved this thank you
Chana Goldberg hey thanks. it’s on my channel and it’s only a quick walk by of 47 seconds :). This is much more detailed.
Beautiful neighborhood
Beth :D my favorite block in BH!!!!
Lucy lived on a very busy street, so many cars-Probably back when Lucy lived there , it wasn’t as many cars 🚗!! That’s a beautiful property!!!
You are right!
Such a beautiful lovely area. I think my favourite is Jack Benny's house. Cause it's pink with black roof. Nothing like the others.
His is beautiful
Absolutely beautiful !!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you for the video my mother would have loved to watch this Lucy was my mum’s favourite actress... My mother died before UA-cam came about to the world. She use to call my dad Mr Moonie 😆🇳🇿
I have that’s so funny. I’m so happy you liked it :)
Reminds me of St. Petersburg fl some older homes in some of older neighborhoods. Always nice to see original n remodeled. Sad to see remodel looses architecture look of the times. History. Thanks for sharing. Know our mansions in Heaven will be even larger! Amazing ! God bless ! Repent America ! Jesus loves you.
I’m glad you enjoyed!
Love it u showed all the way around and top of gate for backyard.
I have pictures of this house in the early 90s. The house was still the original outside. Looked like people were looking at it inside and outside.
Would love to see
I have vintage postcards of famous Hollywood stars homes. Bette Davis, Jack Benny, and Lucy are included. And the photo of Lucy's house on the postcard is the original, before the renovation. Much more warm and beautiful.
Ya I met Johnny cash brother when working at a front desk at a hotel! He said hi I am Tommy cash! ... Lol 😆 I got his signature on something and now can't find it! 😲
Very nice video her home is sure lovely bet she had many wonderful times there!
I hope she enjoyed it. It seems like she did in the 34 years of living there!
I sure miss Lucy and her friends, the house was beautiful, I was wandering where Vivian and William's houses were never seen those before, could you check it out!! Thank you!!
That’s a great point. Good idea for my next video! :). Vivian lived in Pacific Palisades and Bill F lived in a building in Hollywood.
@@DrGariS I was going to say Bill probably lived very simply and I was thinking boarding house or a bungalow type residence! They didn't have Lucy's wealth, not even in the same league! Vivian had a decent career, I'm sure her home was lovely and homey!
@@DrGariS Bill Frawley had an apartment I believe in a building on Hollywood Boulevard.
Beautiful home, suits her! I'd be grateful for a tiny home/shed
It was nicer when she was in it
Loved your video . In my 20s I would drive by her house regularly .
Yeah I totally get it
Lucy was a great actress. I am so glad they didn't tear the house down
Wow such a beautiful place on a busy street
It really is!
Is it true this house was in the I Love Lucy Episode featuring Richard Widmark?
I believe so! I do not know if the house itself was showed but they used it as a filming location! :)
Yes it was. The wall Lucy climbed over was that wall he shows on Lexington. They do show a short clip of the front of the house on that episode.
Laurie At MySkinStudio wow I didn’t know it was that wall that they filmed. How awesome is that?
It is the same house. They showed Lucy and Vivian walking up to the house across the lawn. It was supposed to be Richard Widmark's house, but it was really Lucy's house.
I Love Lucy my favorite one fan Big Seasons DVD 📀 Dolls Jamestown New York Lucy and Desi Museum Love my favorite one fan 💖
THE OLD LOOKED BETTER
Agreed!
I love ❤️ watching Lucille ball great 👍 fan I Lucy’s house before
Jimmy Stewarts house was on the second lot. He bought the corner lot later, tore it down an build an amazing fruit, veggie and flower garden.
Thanks for the info!
I read somewhere that Lucy bought this house for only $85,000. It's crazy that these old Hollywood stars' homes were much cheaper back then than they are today!
Yes. This is true. I have another video with the cast members’ homes and that is correct that this was bought for $85k.
I know Angie Dickinson does, and I'm sure there are others as well.
Thanks so much for the comment., It means a lot
you are 1 lucky man who got to see it in person :) thanks from Canada we love Lucy too..
darek flak hey thanks so much! It was close to where I lived so I saw the house regularly!
@@DrGariS have you met her..
