William Bennett how do I sound like a fag, first of all do you know who steve stoute is? He spoke the truth and 50 was butt-hurt. 50 been puttin out garbage for like the last 8 years. steve aint worried about 50 for real that confrontation between them was just 50 bitchin.
Nyce Hall look. Weirdos. Dr dre hasn't put out music neither in awhile. He got a 300 million deal though. Fifty find very well with boxing situation and other things. U lame ass fans so concern with corny music. If u don't see niggas on mtv doing music then u think niggas is broke? I've haven't seen dre in years but he has more money than Ross and Wayne put together. These industry suit wearing niggas are all liars and con artists. Fifty not into these games like your favorite rapper. He approach the situation like tupac would have. Niggas are tired of the behind the back shit. Now fifty I guess is a bully smh
biggy D Exactly. Now the fans are convinced you have to b on MTV with glitter skinny jeans with tpain on your hook to b successful. Us black people will take fame over fortunate. This is how I know. Rappers with albums and on tv are usually the broke ones. smh. So run up on fifty and tell him he is irrelevant and broke....smfh.
he said 50 is not influential? if we talk just about music and how new rappers are coming up. 50 is more influential than all the rappers he mentioned why? all these new rappers such as french, wayne and many more big rappers. they all started off with something 50 discovered which is MIXTAPE! without 50 discovering mixtape none of these new rappers would be here or if they did, it would be very very difficult. so fuck stoute that no brainer
***** nothing for music ?? y'all do know janelle monae is his artist under bad boy right ….shes pretty big right now… so he is most definitely still contributing
Ray Dennis Revolt hasn't been around long enough to call it a success. I'll give you Ciroc but one could argue him getting into that was a reaction to Jay Z and his Armadale deal.
He says musically - but FIF has been banging out hits off the radio (which radio is wack) nowadays... but I've seen dude in everything from Water, Vitamins, Work Out, Books, Extreme Sports, Boxing to Nascar... He's a Mogul @ his best - hard to say he hasn't made a cultural impact the last 20 years. Back to music - he basically built the mixtape game which now every artist up and coming or even relevant is on it...
Preach my brother.. fucking hate to see these bitter ass niggas after almost fucking 20 years... 50 the brand is worth more then this stupid ass dirt bag will ever b.
Stoute mad at 50, they've always had tension. When 50 got dropped from columbia stoute was in charge and also 50 made it to the top without his help. So why wouldnt stoute feel some type of way
He Lowkey said 50 is cent is WASHED and I wouldn't disagree. But 50 cent is influential he has changed the game in the past...but in today's world HE HAS NOT. This dude wasn't lying 50 isn't much of a factor in today's gamd
50 cent started the shoe deal though..50 cent started the whole investing in company outside rap... 50 had his own video game... 50 started the whole tv show business... now jay and diddy are trying it....50 is game changer but who would want to admit that? 50 cent being influential? 50 cent is like Floyd Mayweather they hate but watch from a distance...
Stout is right he just seems to make it a little PERSONAL and you can tell he has some issues with 50 Cent Personally. 50 still making Millions without his Music and that is a blessing for him but his Music Career is kinda stuck at this point. His mistake is that instead of letting some new guys come in a revive G-Unit he wants to get it back up by himself and that is not going to happen. Like with Cash Money and how Baby was able to just get out of the way and let Lil Wayne carry Cash Money, that is what 50 should have done with G-Unit, let Lloyd Banks carry it because he has the talent to do it. But 50 because of his own struggles musically he kinda just put everybody else career on Ice and he also made too many enemies with all of his Beef Stuff to the point that nobody will help him musically now
its not the station its steve stoute... you guys dont know but steve stoute and 50 had little problems every now and then from back then........ the initial problem was when 50 was about to sign with eminem and dre... steve told 50 "yo your shit is serious, dont sign to the white guy. sign with only dre"... but the whole reason why 50 was getting his deal was bcuz eminem found him and brought him to dre. thats how it initially began... like really??? INFLUENTIAL. 50 CHANGED THE CULTURE. HE MADE WHAT THE MIXTAPE IS TODAY.
I am happy to read the comments and see not the only one who think this guys doesn't what the fuck he is talking about. Hot 97 is constantly inconsistent with callin out the guest who have fucked up views on music and industry
He got it twisted! Of course 50 still in that 5! The fact he hasn't had a "chart" hit in so long and he is still talked about so regularly like this just proves that point
He contradicted the shit outta himself. He said that to be in the top 5 and to be influential it had to be more than music. 50 changed the game musically, his vitamin water, Headphones, SK energy drink, feeding the homeless, his boxing venture & even now the nascar venture as well. I also forgot about him having the reebok deal way back when but the point is that 50 has had so much of an influence on the culture that it's ridiculous. Stoute can't sit there & pick and choose by saying Diddy was never really considered a rapper so he doesn't count cause if that's the case, then what about Dr.Dre? Dre isn't making albums but he's still considered very influential. I just think that Stoute's being bias and that's probably why 50 checked em at MSG that night.
love him or hate him 50 cent curtis jackson will go down as one of the greatest to ever do it. When you say worldwide you say 50 cent,so haters keep hating as Lebron said when you wake up tomorrow you still have your own lives to live,as happy or as miserable it may be. Its da unit bitches
I dunno why this video has some many dislikes but i fully agree with this list. I was surprised Pharell name got put into the mix but thinking back on all his accomplishments e deserves to be in there
Influential TODAY! Not artists who changed the game. If that were the topic Nas and Eminem still wouldn't be listed. The Beastie Boys paved the way for white rappers like MC Serch, Snow, and Vanilla Ice. Nas is just a great lyricist. He wasn't influential in the movement. The 4 he listed make moves that changed the culture or started a trend. Dre, Puff, Jay, and Kanye.
Roy S lol nas isnt influential when it comes to the culture you dont know what your talking about, evry artist from new york is influenced by nas including biggie smalls, jay-z, and em even tho hes not frm ny he was the one of the first kings of new york his style was just hard to imitate and em is deff influential to maybe not with blck culture so much but he has legions of fans
EnvoYMuSiC12 Nas is influential to hip-hop. But he isn't in the top 5. They said top 5 homie and their are people in front of Nas. They didn't ask who was the top 5 best rappers. That would be a different story.
I was talking to roy bro and thats not what im arguing and to be honest he prolly is in the top 5 to be honest but he hasn't been as influential as those other artist recently
He forgot to mention Eminem. As much as you hate to admit it, he weakened the racial barriers in hip hop & made it a bigger thing to all the white people who never heard rap before him. Nowadays, a white rapper is a common thing Also he forgot Nas. "Name a rapper that I ain't influenced"
50s my life single charted higher than any Ross single since 08, hit with jeremih, dre last number 1 had 50 on it, 50 still gets more youtube views and mixtape downloads than every rapper apart from drake jay em and Wayne lol but people still act like his irrelevant because he don't trend on twitter lol. 50s fan base to strong
Steve is being real. Everyone has an opinion. STEVE is about building brands and capitalizing on opportunities that will take care of your kids kids kids. Bigger dreams big plans more money $$. Stay grow w/ + Grow w/Kamo haze! SAVAGES NEVER SLEEP
No one in entertainment hardly have 20 yr runs. Esp not rappers. No emcee has enjoyed a run lasting longer than 5-6 yrs in which they are actually 1) relevant and 2) still living As the other commenter mentioned Jay Z is the very rare exception...
IMO 50 Cent is not influential like these 4 guys and even Pharrell is at a good place. You can like them or not, it's not just about music and all these guys have more than a decade in the entertainment industry, like the title of the video says it's about influence not just music. I really like 50 Cent and I know Steve Stoute has some beefs with him but, look at this: Dr Dre: Beats by Dre is everywhere billion $ company he basically have made headphone become fashion accessory, beats music is on the way, USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts Diddy: Ciroc is everywhere, and now Ciroc deal with NBA, Deleon tequilla an expensive brand, Revolt tv, and more... Jay-Z: Roc Music, Roc Sport, Made in America festival, deal with Samsung, and Magna Carta is platinum in the US, lucrative tour with Kanye then with Justin Timberlake his wife Beyoncé upgrades him and she's the Queen. Kanye (Lucrative tour with Jay then by himself now, Nike deal, now Adidas deal, the most critically acclaimed rapper of the last 5 years, Lou Reed (RIP) was praising his work, Bruce Springsteen also, almost all his album are platinum Yeezus has passed 700K in the US, even his hated wife Kim is a star, ***Pharrell: hit-maker for more than a decade for big music stars, Billionaire boys/girls club, ice Cream clothing, Daft Punk hit, Blurred line hit, Happy is number 1 WW since 3 weeks and is now number 1 in the US, and he could get an Oscar +++ 50 Cent: SMS Audio, Street king drink, going independent for Street king immortal and more...
Lol its funny how the south gets no respect its crazy how babe & slim aren't mentioned & they been in it for 25 years. Like Wayne is the biggest artist in hiphop GLOBALLY period no question he single handedly carried this game on his back for 2-3 years & ppl just seem to forget lmaooo i love Rozay but cmon dawg forreal
All of you commenter totally missed the point he made. She said who has the most impact financially, and musically on the culture brand wise. he's right its only jay, ye, dre, and drake. How many people have beats? Probably all of you. How many people buys into whatever ye, jay and drake sells, or releases. Probably all of you. They did say who was the best rapper lyrically, or who makes the best album so stop with all the bullish comments and listen to everything before you make mad nonsense posts.
I don't see how you don't mention T.I or any South rappers??? From the gear, talk, drink, you name it the south has changed the game!!! Crazy how NY cats never show respect for the south!!!
This nigga wanted to say 50 name so bad at the end but couldn't think of anyone else so he going to go opposite of 50 w/ Rick Ross he could've at least said Lil Wayne if he was gonna hate that damn hard on a G Unit globally known artist 50 might not be on the radio here but overseas he's playing everyday something his list doesn't have in common and finally the big ten mixtape was crazy should've been an album but since 07 when the public was fooled that Kanye actually beat 50 Cent in record sales totality everybody been distancing themselves from him and that's the truth
Fifty cares more about business than putting out great music. He is/was a hunger rapper, he's not starving anymore so the passion for bringing that heat us not there anymore. I can understand that though because the music industry moves too fast, Fifty's sound would not translate well in today's culture. Jay, Kanye, Nas, Dre, Timbaland and Em are influencing the game more than anyone in the game now. It used to be Wayne in the mid 2000a but he Sony done nothing in a minute that worth talking about. Patrell on the other hand...I'm still stuck on him. Can we say that he's a game changer? Hmmm
Without 50 Cent there wouldn't be a Drake, Jeezy, Wayne, Schholboy Q, Kendrick Lamar, Game and the list goes on and on of rappers who got deals off of mix tapes. I am not his biggest fan but I can admit he changed the game forever when he came out
Yeah he did change the game from that aspect but then again I never said he didn't change the game. I just mentioned how he didn't make a hit in so long because of how he's so focus on the business side now. But no doubt he pioneered a way for cats to get in the game without contracts and obligations to major labels with that mixtape game.
***** Yes Wayne did drop mix tapes back in the early 2000's with Squad Up but Wayne would freestyle over beats. 50 took artist songs and remade them to his, they would become official remixes and sometimes would be better than the original. Wayne never did that
I respect him but he sounds like a hater when it comes to 50, he says its not about hits but what's Dre's last big single (still waiting on Detox) ? SMS audio, Street King, the whole boxing thing he does in Queens and not to mention the Vitamin Water and G Unit clothing which is amazing how well it did in sales (people forget G Unit clothing was in MACY's, no disrespect but you don't see no OVO or Donda shit in Macys). 50 is on a verge of coming back and he'll be looking like a salty hater. With all that being said the "Tanning of America" doc was dope
Dr.Dre without those headphones would be meaningless in 2014 to hip-hop music and culture and this is coming from someone that loves and respects the man! but what hit has he himself released in the last 5 years?? not 50 or Eminem or Snoop but him? he needs Detoxxx to finally drop so he can shut up everyone on the music tip but then again he isn't confident in that one himself sooooooo!
Its funny, Within hiphop culture and specifically NYC 50 is probably the biggest artist of the decade(2000-2010) as far as international appeal and territories covered. Is 50 relevant now musically? No of course not. But business wise you gotta tip your hat. Anyone who discredits his contributions to hiphop is either a hater or someone who clearly does not know their history. Minus 50 cent and you lost THE MAJORITY of the artists out today. why well lets see where hiphop would be were it not fir mixtapes. Lets see where these rappers would be financially if it were not be for brand extensions. Last time i checked 50 jumped on the business tip much faster than jay z did.
NOt sure what rick ross is doing globally. As someone who works internationally for record companies i come across only a handful of artists that represent the hiphop genre that translate in literally every territory. 50 cent, eminem, jay z to a certain extent, and most of the old school acts.
lance lanceislike yeah but of all the business 50 does outside of music, the sneakers aren't even his best venture. Just shows fif is too forward thinking.
If your talking about the most influential of all time then eminem should always be in the list. when em first came out he was the king of rap. he had every white kid wanting to be like him and he definitely influenced the majority of white people into listening to rap music. there wasnt many other white rappers in the game when he first came out but nowadays there are loads of white rappers. yelawolf, macklemore, riff raff, action bronson, mac miller, machine gun kelly just to name a few. they are all white rappers and they were all influenced by eminem. every rapper who gets asked about their top 5 eminem is usually always in the list but this nigga steve doesnt have a fucking clue about hip hop.
I wouldn't care if 50 drops another album....he has enough material to last a decade... Illl play all his mix tapes and GRODT album.... just like NAS.... Classics for ever!! BTW F*** the RADIO
I am not a 50 fan like that but it is funny to see how this station tries to shit on him. They have to keep his name afloat in a negative way to get views and comments. It is no secret 50 and Stoute aren't cool especially when 50 aired him out about how he didn't want to deal with him until Eminem signed him. 50 also made it without Stoute's help which has him maybe feeling a certain way and please dismiss me with that 50 ain't relevant or nobody is checking for him. His new song he posted Friday is almost at a million views which is more than any rapper on the radio right now besides Jay Z or Eminem
The only reason 50 Cent ain't been consistent is because he knows the music industry is changing so his investing in business ideas to preserve his fortune in the future. His smarter than most artists these days. Puff is only influential as a business man, not as a musician so you can't consider him a artist anymore.
PREMODOGMATIC If you really think about it Rakim is probably up there as one of the most influenctial MCs, people changed the way they rapped after him. He influenced people to get into the 5% Religion. Artists from 2pac, Jay Z Nas to 50 to Lil Wayne all have paid homage to him in some form. His influence came from pure lyricism and his art. Nowadays the rap comentators like this guy and Eliot Wilson want to talk about extremely stupid criteria as the measure of an artist
50 Cent & Steve Stoute always had tension. Last time 50 was on Hot 97 he said he disliked Steve Stoute & that's why Steve was trying to shit on 50. He knows 50 is one of the biggest rappers of all time despite the last few years of not being that successful in hip hop. It's all because Interscope was blackballing 50 but now he's independent so we'll witness the return of 50
50 Cent is definitely top 5 most influentail artist. but Steve Stout is right when he says "he is always gearing up for something that never happens". I'm as big of a 50 Cent fan as anybody else. But for the last 3 or 4 years all we here from 50 is "I'm bout to hit the restart button and take over the game like in 03". Never happened. Street King Immortal Album, never happened. The Black Magic album, never happened. And how many times have his released dates been pushed back? Let's keep it real. 50 still my nigga but I'm not anticipating this album until it actually happens.
I like how NY likes to shit on 50 but in reality if 50 gets back on top then NY will have a resurgence of energy/aggression that Jay or Nas can't bring at all. Jay & Nas aren't going to do shit for a New York artist and you can see it by their attitudes when they get asked about it. 50 actually helps out newer artists by jumping on songs he likes too instead of just shitting on them because they aren't "superstars"
um so whens the last time Puff OR Dre made a hit? Here is the official list right here since steve is on some dumb ass shit. Top 5 Hip Hop Legendary/Influential Artist ( KEYWORD LEGENDARY & ARTIST) it would be 1. 2pac 2. Biggie 3 .Nas 4. Jay Z or Rakim 5. Em ( OR DMX) now if were strictly talking about artist starting revolutionary labels then (in no order) 1. Jay ( Rocafella) 2. Diddy (Badboy) 3. 50 ( G-unit) 4. Master P ( No limit) 5. Dre (aftermath) If we put Diddy on the list then im putting Will smith on there too.lol if your talking about top 5 contributions to hip hop 1. Russel Simmons----- Def Jam 2. Diddy---- Bad boy 3. Suge Knight --Death Row 4. Jay Z/Dame ---Rocafella 5. Dr Dre Aftermath which spawned Em and 50. and then lastly if your talking about relevancy/ popularity which doesnt really mean shit or hold weight then i guess it would be 1. Wayne 2. Kanye 3. Drake 4.Ross 5..Jay z/ Em ( no disrespect to these 2 guys of course) IN 20 YEARS NO ONE WILL CARE TO LEARN THE HISTORY ABOUT M.M.G YOUNG CASH MONEY OR GOOD MUSIC...
i agree for the most part but idk about badboy being over rocafella in revolutionary labels, seeing that badboy made Biggie Smalls who was a multi platinum artist and higher than Jay z on ur influential artists, MA$E multi platinum, Diddy sold 7 million copies of "No way Out" album multi platinum, faith evans album went multi platinum; they also had the LOX and Jadakiss signed to Bad Boy. While the Roc's only platinum artists were Jay himself, Kanye and Cam'ron and IDK whether I should even include cam'ron seeing that Dame Dash signed him and jay and him had beef while they were in the same label
Look, Kanye changed hip-hop musically. His sped up samples and his way of rapping greatly influenced hip-hop and made it so much more popular and if you still don't like Ye's music, you still have to at least respect him.
What he is talking about are artists that can move the culture now outside of just the music. Jay-Z did a unprecedented deal with Samsung and got Billboard to count the records sales. Puffy just launch a TV channel and still got everybody buying Circo. Dre with Jimmy Iovine got everybody to care about headphones and built a billion dollar company. Kanye got people buying Yeezys, got people buying leather sweatpants and he probably gonna make all you care about Adidas again.
But 50 has a film production company that is quite successful, utilising the talents of greats such as DeNiro, Pacino, Sharon Stone, etc, etc. The list goes on and on. For an ex-drug dealer who got shot 9 times to be able to be successful in the realm of Hollywood speaks volumes about his influence to transcend genres, taking Hip Hop to a higher level.. Not to mention his Boxing Promotion is doing extremely well. Stoute has a personal agenda when talking about 50.
biggy D ***** Vitamin Water was 2007. He did headphones after Dre and Jimmy define the market. It's at least 10 rappers with headphones lines now. Cheetah Vision hasn't produced one movie that made it into US theaters even though they have had some big name stars in the cast. . You can check that on IMDB.com Nobody is discounting 50 success but he just hasn't had much of a impact on the culture in the last 5 years. That doesn't means his business deals are not very successful for him. Personal, I don't think Jay-Z Sports Agency deal moves the culture but is just good business for him.
***** They missed the point of the initial question. The point was who was most financially important and influential in Hip Hop. None of 50's business deals have been hip hop related or influenced hip hop in a long time. Nor has he been a strong presence in hip hop musically in a long time. Which makes him not qualified for this list.
I hear you loud and clear, but if Dre can be considered having an influence on the culture vis his Beats Headphones, then 50 should be considered the same in regards to "This is 50,"sms audio," his film production company and his boxing promotion... All these things help Hip Hop transcend genres and diversify it's Portfolio, also showing the wide scope of what Hip Hop can do on a corporate, independent and marketing level. The EXACT thing that "The Tanning of America" is about.
Also, the majority of all those other rappers are spokespersons for those companies. 50 owns EQUITY and also has input on the direction of marketing and the creation of the actual products... That is definitely pushing the culture forward and having an influence, from a corporate/business standpoint.
Funny Steve said 50 and his aggressive content funny cuz that just means 50 won't compromise his style like someone like Kanye who wanted to start out doing gangster rap but he wasn't then he put out that gay 808 and heartbreaks. The reason why 50's last album didn't do great is because of the climate you don't need a hit radio single to be considered relevant. That's the same reason Dre won't drop detox but now that EM, Kendrick and now Schoolboy Q are doing there thing perhaps we'll get it maybe next year!!
When has Ye ever been "gangster" the reason Rocafella was nervous to put him out is bc Ja Rule & Fif had the streets on lock & Ye did the backpack/flashy style, he's always changed his styles & is always successful
are you also forgetting the fact his last album leaked in its entirety so who would buy his album except for truely loyal fans dont get me wrong coz i downloade3d it when it leaked then bought it as well, but i doubt many people did that. in all honesty there is probably more people who have BISD (Before I Self Destruct) than get rich or die trying
+Corey Williams When the hell did Kanye do gangster rap? Kanye changes style for every album cause he's creative and that's why he's still relevant unlike 50 who has been relevant for nearly 10 years. He doesn't sell any records, hits doesn't matter that's for the birds. J. Cole just sold a million records without a hit record, Kendrick too. 50 sold like 100k, got bad reviews, doesn't have any big shows and on. Changing your style is what great musicians do, Michael Jackson, Beatles, Marvin Gaye, Miles Davis to Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Outkast, Dr. Dre, Jay-z and even the nowadays boring ass Eminem who only has pop fans left changes style with each album.
Lord Quas influential? 50 is the most worldwide u sucker! kayne is not even top 20! everybody make fun of this noname! hahaha 50 Cents first album sold more then all album of this wack ass gay fish!
Richard Löwenherz that's in his past tho...he can't sell Kanye numbers now...and yeah idk if u remember or were old enough but 7 yrs ago ye embarrassed 50 head to head on the same day
I like 50 but i think Steve is correct - there is really no excuse for someone with so many resources - i think 50's focus is not on music - but music can help his brands - he is trying to create product - but he is not a creative architect in that way - it is going to be interesting what kids remember him for in 5 years
People are so hyper sensitive about things said about 50 Cent. That's crazy because that's what got 50 on in the first place...stirring up controversy. Stout is speaking the TRUTH!
Steve didn't mention 50 because he is biased , Stoute and Fif weren't really getting along, but I ain't trippin Steve Stoute is entitle to his own opinions ........
Lil Wayne is. Having dudes wearing skinny pants and some wearing vans black kids skate boarding and Trukfit is a cool clothing line and everybody loves wayne black white hispanic and asian he might not be the old wayne but he still up there
Johnathan Nabors sorry for your ignorance but black kids and men been skating since the 90s, wayne aint got shit to do with that, he just made it more acceptable in the minds of the sheeple
lance lanceislike nope wayne has 100 mill kanye is crying about losing 13 million tryn get in the fashion industry. young money is way more succesful than good music.
Yeah but she's not a huge staple in the game business wise compared to the big dogs like a Jay, Kanye, Dre, Puff, etc. These guys have been at it for years. She would be classified under the up & comers along with your Drake's, RIck Ross, etc. But they will get there in conversion sooner than later. It's still early in their careers !
He just ran into 50 at the knicks game too lol. He wasnt too gangsta then when 50 was in his face lol
he never said he was gangsta
William Bennett
how do I sound like a fag, first of all do you know who steve stoute is? He spoke the truth and 50 was butt-hurt. 50 been puttin out garbage for like the last 8 years. steve aint worried about 50 for real that confrontation between them was just 50 bitchin.

😂😂😂😂 he even mentioned officer ricky 😂😂😂 these niggas dirtbags mainnn
Why is Puff on that list, he hasn't done shit in music for years. As far as music he's a bandwagoner.
What LQ is at every party you go to?
***** nothing for music ?? y'all do know janelle monae is his artist under bad boy right ….shes pretty big right now… so he is most definitely still contributing
...Ciroc. Revolt.
Ray Dennis Revolt hasn't been around long enough to call it a success. I'll give you Ciroc but one could argue him getting into that was a reaction to Jay Z and his Armadale deal.
Mr. Mix Diddy doesn't own Ciroc

A A | he didn’t start business arrangements outside of rap but he HAD no other choice. Musically he is not talented. He definitely capitalized though.
Lmao. Steve Stoute is the man. Brutal honesty
love him or hate him 50 cent curtis jackson will go down as one of the greatest to ever do it. When you say worldwide you say 50 cent,so haters keep hating as Lebron said when you wake up tomorrow you still have your own lives to live,as happy or as miserable it may be. Its da unit bitches
preach!!!!
7 years later and is still GGGGGG UNIT the general , the kid , Ferrari F50 😊
I dunno why this video has some many dislikes but i fully agree with this list. I was surprised Pharell name got put into the mix but thinking back on all his accomplishments e deserves to be in there
What about Run and D.M.C? Eminem? N.A.S also i think 50 should be there !
Run DMC? He's talking about current artist. Eminem and Nas are great rappers, but he said influential.
Roy S
lol nas isnt influential when it comes to the culture you dont know what your talking about, evry artist from new york is influenced by nas including biggie smalls, jay-z, and em even tho hes not frm ny he was the one of the first kings of new york his style was just hard to imitate and em is deff influential to maybe not with blck culture so much but he has legions of fans
I want to hear more from this interview can you upload the whole video please?
he just forgot all about birdman and cash money like they haven't been holdin it down for 20+ years
He forgot to mention Eminem. As much as you hate to admit it, he weakened the racial barriers in hip hop & made it a bigger thing to all the white people who never heard rap before him. Nowadays, a white rapper is a common thing
Also he forgot Nas.
RIP 50 CENT.
Damn she flirting hard
LIL WAYNE CHANGED HIP HOP
PLEASE GET 50 CENT ON THIS SHOW ASAP
i remember that interview that interview was 2007 and he talked about cam , irv , ja , kanye and swizz beatz
Did he say Rick Ross?? LMAO !!!!!!!
I need to get on Steve stout. He is a very smart man.
Steve is being real. Everyone has an opinion. STEVE is about building brands and capitalizing on opportunities that will take care of your kids kids kids. Bigger dreams big plans more money $$. Stay grow w/ + Grow w/Kamo haze! SAVAGES NEVER SLEEP
ctfu i agree 50 cent corny
I'm not a fan but you gotta say Wayne...he is very influential he got a legion of fans that imitate him and hang off his every word
No one in entertainment hardly have 20 yr runs. Esp not rappers. No emcee has enjoyed a run lasting longer than 5-6 yrs in which they are actually 1) relevant and 2) still living
As the other commenter mentioned Jay Z is the very rare exception...
He's speaking the truth.
IMO 50 Cent is not influential like these 4 guys and even Pharrell is at a good place. You can like them or not, it's not just about music and all these guys have more than a decade in the entertainment industry, like the title of the video says it's about influence not just music. I really like 50 Cent and I know Steve Stoute has some beefs with him but, look at this:
Dr Dre: Beats by Dre is everywhere billion $ company he basically have made headphone become fashion accessory, beats music is on the way, USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts
Diddy: Ciroc is everywhere, and now Ciroc deal with NBA, Deleon tequilla an expensive brand, Revolt tv, and more...
Jay-Z: Roc Music, Roc Sport, Made in America festival, deal with Samsung, and Magna Carta is platinum in the US, lucrative tour with Kanye then with Justin Timberlake his wife Beyoncé upgrades him and she's the Queen.
Kanye (Lucrative tour with Jay then by himself now, Nike deal, now Adidas deal, the most critically acclaimed rapper of the last 5 years, Lou Reed (RIP) was praising his work, Bruce Springsteen also, almost all his album are platinum Yeezus has passed 700K in the US, even his hated wife Kim is a star,
***Pharrell: hit-maker for more than a decade for big music stars, Billionaire boys/girls club, ice Cream clothing, Daft Punk hit, Blurred line hit, Happy is number 1 WW since 3 weeks and is now number 1 in the US, and he could get an Oscar
+++ 50 Cent: SMS Audio, Street king drink, going independent for Street king immortal and more...
Lol its funny how the south gets no respect its crazy how babe & slim aren't mentioned & they been in it for 25 years. Like Wayne is the biggest artist in hiphop GLOBALLY period no question he single handedly carried this game on his back for 2-3 years & ppl just seem to forget lmaooo i love Rozay but cmon dawg forreal
hes telling the truth!!!
50 dissed stoute last year, this is his way of tryina get back at fif lol
I don't see how you don't mention T.I or any South rappers??? From the gear, talk, drink, you name it the south has changed the game!!! Crazy how NY cats never show respect for the south!!!
I like how he didn't want to say Eminem, hating ahh
This nigga wanted to say 50 name so bad at the end but couldn't think of anyone else so he going to go opposite of 50 w/ Rick Ross he could've at least said Lil Wayne if he was gonna hate that damn hard on a G Unit globally known artist 50 might not be on the radio here but overseas he's playing everyday something his list doesn't have in common and finally the big ten mixtape was crazy should've been an album but since 07 when the public was fooled that Kanye actually beat 50 Cent in record sales totality everybody been distancing themselves from him and that's the truth
dre, puff, jay z n 50 none of these men are as big n rich as they are just cuz of music. Music open doors
Puff is not influential, he put him there because of financial reasons, which means he should've said 50
Cash Money since fkin FOREVER and Em.
I got money is not a good song but I like 50
HA!! mouth piece almost got him boxed at the garden.. guess puff was justified going upside his head wit that bottle
With all that being said the "Tanning of America" doc was dope
how could he not say wayne?! he changed rap rather u think its for good or bad and influenced the way people dress lol
this guy sounds like he doesn't know what he's talking about
word he has no idea what he's talking about and plus him and 50 have past beef so that why
LOL this is why 50 ran up on him at the Knick game
Why not em
50 is one of the biggest rappers of all time... wtf is kayne west?
Steve comes across as bitter when talking about fif
Dr.Dre without those headphones would be meaningless in 2014 to hip-hop music and culture and this is coming from someone that loves and respects the man! but what hit has he himself released in the last 5 years?? not 50 or Eminem or Snoop but him? he needs Detoxxx to finally drop so he can shut up everyone on the music tip but then again he isn't confident in that one himself sooooooo!
IT'S TRUE!!!!! FIDDY LOST IT. HE'S FALLING OFF. WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?
i see y dudes don't like this guy or y that bottle incident happen!!
this is Steve Stoute's opinion , who care about!
no nas ? wtf yo.
Russell simmons is more influential
Steve stoute and k.west money togther still dont equal 50cent money with no hit since I get money..lol 50 ..yo they all still mad lol
No 50 what 50 G-unit
First
Its funny, Within hiphop culture and specifically NYC 50 is probably the biggest artist of the decade(2000-2010) as far as international appeal and territories covered.
50 and steve stoute dont like eachother thats a known fact
50 is one of the few artist who ran the game without the input/help of steve stoute
50 got his sneaker deal b/c of steve
lance lanceislike yeah but of all the business 50 does outside of music, the sneakers aren't even his best venture. Just shows fif is too forward thinking.
50 saw him at the garden he was shook lol
was DEF shook... Stoute was on Drink Champs and he even admit "50 is a shooter" lol Steve dont WANT it lmao
Big 🧢
Ohhhhhh lord, get ready for 50's response.
50 has classics in music? 😂 he has contributed nothing to hip hop. He simply used it as a tool to pursue business ventures.
@@diempardon4259 you dumb and smart at the same time 😂😂😂
I am not a 50 fan like that but it is funny to see how this station tries to shit on him. His new song he posted Friday is almost at a million views which is more than any rapper on the radio right now besides Jay Z or Eminem
that's true, I was wondering why stoute had nothing nice to say, then I remembered 50s interview with flex haha 50 made him look bad
These niggas still bitter man...
The only reason 50 Cent ain't been consistent is because he knows the music industry is changing so his investing in business ideas to preserve his fortune in the future. His smarter than most artists these days. Puff is only influential as a business man, not as a musician so you can't consider him a artist anymore.
My man.
Its annoying that these dudes always talk about "fashion" and "money" when they evaluate an MC's worth. Now wonder hip hop is such mindless music now
I don't think the question was about MC's. It was about business and influence.
@@hitmanhart670 preach brother.
It's all because Interscope was blackballing 50 but now he's independent so we'll witness the return of 50
And still managed these last years to create hits with more than 10 milli hits... the last realest rapper ever if you ask me.
50 still my nigga but I'm not anticipating this album until it actually happens.
bobbyward24 Exactly it wasn't a diss he spoke the truth.
Pushed back by the MACHINE. still has millions of views every year
I like how NY likes to shit on 50 but in reality if 50 gets back on top then NY will have a resurgence of energy/aggression that Jay or Nas can't bring at all. Jay & Nas aren't going to do shit for a New York artist and you can see it by their attitudes when they get asked about it. 50 actually helps out newer artists by jumping on songs he likes too instead of just shitting on them because they aren't "superstars"
This is ridiculous by his Logic Dr Dre, NWA, Ice cube, Bone thugs aren't influential because they haven't release a new song or album in years
Chill krayzie bone just dropped a album and bone still drops music
50 cent is a game changer he made hip hop more pop and brought it more to the national level.
No eminem did that 50 cent continued that
um so whens the last time Puff OR Dre made a hit?
Here is the official list right here since steve is on some dumb ass shit.
Top 5 Hip Hop Legendary/Influential Artist ( KEYWORD LEGENDARY & ARTIST) it would be
1. 2pac
2. Biggie
3 .Nas
4. Jay Z or Rakim
5. Em ( OR DMX)
now if were strictly talking about artist starting revolutionary labels then
(in no order)
1. Jay ( Rocafella)
2. Diddy (Badboy)
3. 50 ( G-unit)
4. Master P ( No limit)
5. Dre (aftermath)
If we put Diddy on the list then im putting Will smith on there too.lol
if your talking about top 5 contributions to hip hop
1. Russel Simmons----- Def Jam
2. Diddy---- Bad boy
3. Suge Knight --Death Row
4. Jay Z/Dame ---Rocafella
5. Dr Dre Aftermath which spawned Em and 50.
and then lastly if your talking about relevancy/ popularity which doesnt really mean shit or hold weight then i guess it would be
1. Wayne
2. Kanye
3. Drake
4.Ross
5..Jay z/ Em ( no disrespect to these 2 guys of course)
IN 20 YEARS NO ONE WILL CARE TO LEARN THE HISTORY ABOUT M.M.G YOUNG CASH MONEY OR GOOD MUSIC...
i agree for the most part but idk about badboy being over rocafella in revolutionary labels, seeing that badboy made Biggie Smalls who was a multi platinum artist and higher than Jay z on ur influential artists, MA$E multi platinum, Diddy sold 7 million copies of "No way Out" album multi platinum, faith evans album went multi platinum; they also had the LOX and Jadakiss signed to Bad Boy. While the Roc's only platinum artists were Jay himself, Kanye and Cam'ron and IDK whether I should even include cam'ron seeing that Dame Dash signed him and jay and him had beef while they were in the same label
I'd put Hov & Dame's Roc over Suge but besides that I agree
My relevancy would be Puff, Ye, Hov, Drake, Wayne/Em, Rozay's not more relevant than Puffy
OUCH!! He sold over 30 mil records! Can't erase those facts! If you list Puff what about Jimmy Iovine? Dr. Dre has been quiet on the music scene.
Seems like a 50 hater
Lol "Aggressive content" was such a hard dig at 50…..he was saying that for the longest! LMAO
Baby and slim is influential
+BluBoyMusic I have all 50 albums
Dre, Jay-z and even the nowadays boring ass Eminem who only has pop fans left changes style with each album.
this should put a smile on fif fan, if fif so irrelevant, why mention him
😊50s smile
"After the VMA's my baby momma cussed my azz out, I kicked her azz, we back friends, like Puffy and Steve Stoute."-50 cent
😂😂😂
"after the vma's my baby momma cussed my ass out, i kicked her ass, we back friends like puffy and steve stoute"
Hot 97 showing there colours that they never liked fiddy first schoolboy now this damn hot 97
Son of a
Bitch! 50 Cent is the King! Who the fuck is kanye west? Seriously lol!!!
I lyk 50 WAYYY more than Ye but u must be outta u fuckin mind? In case u forgot, Kanye showed 50 who he was YEARS AGO
K. David
really??? hahahahaha 50 Cent sold more worldwide!
Lord Quas
influential? 50 is the most worldwide u sucker! kayne is not even top 20! everybody make fun of this noname! hahaha 50 Cents first album sold more then all album of this wack ass gay fish!
Richard Löwenherz that's in his past tho...he can't sell Kanye numbers now...and yeah idk if u remember or were old enough but 7 yrs ago ye embarrassed 50 head to head on the same day
K. David for the record, Ye didnt embarass anyone. He barely sold more records than 50.
I like 50 but i think Steve is correct - there is really no excuse for someone with so many resources - i think 50's focus is not on music - but music can help his brands - he is trying to create product - but he is not a creative architect in that way - it is going to be interesting what kids remember him for in 5 years
Still love her voice 17 years later.. Angie Martinez my boo.
Sooo true "it seems like 50 is always gearing up to do something and never does"
People are so hyper sensitive about things said about 50 Cent.
Having dudes wearing skinny pants and some wearing vans black kids skate boarding and Trukfit is a cool clothing line and everybody loves wayne black white hispanic and asian he might not be the old wayne but he still up there
true wayne is just as influential as kanye and way richer so how he not gone say wayne
CapiTen10 dude kanye got way more money than wayne
Johnathan Nabors sorry for your ignorance but black kids and men been skating since the 90s, wayne aint got shit to do with that, he just made it more acceptable in the minds of the sheeple
el trinitario
Wayne made it popular amongst the hip hop kids.
lance lanceislike
nope wayne has 100 mill kanye is crying about losing 13 million tryn get in the fashion industry. young money is way more succesful than good music.
I'd have to say Nicki would definitely be #5 like her or not
Not a fan but I think you're right.
Angie's so slick lol
Hot 97 don't like 50 or PAC
"Aggressive content" XD If you listen to 50 Cent's interviews I am 100% sure you will hear him say that!!!
Seriously...
CLOWNS....
50 cent is my top 5
