I agree Jonathan. So many things about the RER/Metro system in Paris don't make sense, and if you ask the staff, you'll never get a meaningful answer. For one, each RER line is run by a completely different company. My friend left his laptop on the RER B and transferred to the RER A; when he realized his laptop was missing, he approached the RER A security desk, but they refused to even try to help him, because it was on a different subway line.
It's a pity, though. I prefer the metro's green and white to the red, silver, white and blue of the RER. RER is a fabulous system though; if London had something like it (Crossrail will be, but it's only 1 line!) it would really prosper more. The Tube is being overloaded with people having to transfer from the main line stations because commuter lines don't enter the very centre of London (except Thameslink)
I know this is an old video, but what’s the difference again between the RER and the Metro? I thought most of these stations connected underground with the Metro. Sometimes I think the system is very confusing because of that. I kind of consider this to be like Boston’s commuter rail.
The RER is like Boston Commuter Rail; the metro is like the Boston T. Have you checked out my Boston videos from July 2018? Thanks very much for watching.
@Jonathan5742 I agree. Nothing makes sense in Paris. Their language doesn't even have unique words for the numbers 70, 80, and 90. Also the trains lack ventilation, they're frequently late, they run every 6-10 minutes in rush hour, and there are routine strikes. Also, they run on holiday hours during the entire month of August (their NORMAL hours are worse than American holiday hours)
I take the Metro and RER every day and I'm disappointed very often.... Strikes, lateness. I've even been late for my exam because of RER. Your opinion is not representative of RATP service quality, mine is because I use their transports every day.
Très belle vidéo très belle archives c’était une très bonne époque
Great video!
5:35 RUN!
Depuis 6 ans que je regarde cette vidéo elle est trop bien. Même si je préfère le RER B.
I've been on both RER & Paris Metro and noticed how much cleaner the stations are than here in NYC, very nice!
I saw that video. That was cool. Thanks for the clarification.

am guessing that these RER trains move a lot faster then the metro subway trains as they are more like a normal train
2:09 shot at this train
parfait pour les feintes au telephone !!! MERCI
Cette vidéo est trop intéressante. Les rames des RER A, B et D étaient bleu-blanc-rouge
I love how gritty the RER is compared to the Paris Metro.
lolol i do it everyday, so it's funny to see people admiring it and filming ahahahh
Le non rénové :3

What's so funny for u? I have been many times in Paris and I've always relay on public transport. It has never dissappointed me.
