I agree on most that you said about people not watching the Overwatch league. I was really involved in the community for many years and I have to say the main reason amongst hardcore Esports viewers was that the system they made just simply doesn't work. So they came up with a concept of having teams representing citie. Okay cool! But they barely played in the cities... They played at the OWL studios at first and barely did any homestands. Before OWL there was more hype building up since the esports was tournament based like Counter Strike. It was doomed from the start with that formula.
