- The replacement cycle of the used coated frying pan is short, so I bought an Carbon Steel Pan that can be used for a long time.
French de Buyer MINERAL B Frying Pan 24cm.

After rinsing with hot water, it was washed and seasoned.
And I made and ate Sunny Side Up Eggs.
Because it is a Carbon Steel Pan, it has a heavy disadvantage.
It seems that there will be difficulties in management as I use it.
I'll have to use it to know the specific pros and cons. :)

The egg stuck. Top of egg white is still clear, raw. The bottom of the egg looks burnt.

Heat was wrong..Heat pan on medium then drop in egg..Will not stick
Chef tip, put a lid to steam cook the top white.
@@j.m.3038Negative. You do NOT want steamed food in carbon steel. It defeats the purpose of having carbon steel in the first place. Every real “chef” knows this fact.
@@geraldamos292Forst remove raw eggs from fridge and bring to room temp. Then drop egg onto hot carbon steel pan. Never stick.
I prefer the de Buyer Pro models with stainless handles, much easier to live with every day.
Doesn’t look like you seasoned the walls or the outside of the pan at all 🧐

De Buyer advises same technique. Not seasoning walls. They probably know how to season their own pans 😉
To properly season this pan, the best option is a gas stove (even a camping one). Important: this pan model cannot be season in the oven (which is usually the best method) since the handle has a coating that cannot withstand it for more than 10 minutes.

with the use of a $100 pan, it should not waste any nutrients from the eggs by not getting it burnt. besides tasting them better.

Too much heat and use butter instead of oil
with this amount of fat it works nearly in EVERY pan ;-)

Crow it in oil. Not needed if you understand the carbon steel skillet!!p
Bad seasoning... First 30min on fire to get pan all black. Then use oil for next 30min. then you have your non stick carbon steel.
