Hes wonderful but….He’s imitating. Like all asians who take on western music there is a sense that he’s not quite right. He’s good. Very good. But it lacks the heart quality that is inherent in the making of the song. Technique is never enough. Needs heart. I could not take on a Chinese folk song no matter how perfect I got it because it’s not anchored in my DNA. it’s the truth. Sorry if you hate the truth. It’s karaoke. And it’s cultural.
@@warriorpoet9629 There is no imitating in this version. He has emotions and inflections that Tom Jones never put in them. I have lived a long time and he is one of the very rare singers who puts his heart and soul into every song he sings and improves them. Since I started listening to him, I'm sorry to say Tom Jones has faded from my listen list and he has been a favorite since he first started singing I'll never Fall In Love Again.

I've heard other people try to sing this song and came up short. I did not think that there would be anyone else capable of singing it with so much power and strength. The best part is that it did not sound like someone just trying to copy Tom Jones, he made it all his own.

I grew up listening to Tom Jones and never thought anyone should even attempt this song after him. It has taken decades for someone else to sing this song as beautifully. Wonderful version.

I was just sitting in my chair, minding my own business. This video came up and I saw this young man. Then he opened his mouth and that magnificent voice came out. He hit every single note without a miss. I can't wait to hear more.

Gosh, I am captivated by another Korean singer! Loved the post on TikTok and had to track down this singer for a full version of the song. In my search, I found the video of him singing “L’envie d’aimer” and realized i had shared that video on FB last year. At that time, I had also seen the partial song on TK. He has an amazing strong distinctive voice

I fell in love with Yunchan Lim in 2022 when he won Gold at the Cliburn Competition for Pianists. Since then I have become so aware of other Koreans excelling in all forms.of music and am blown away.

I know Tom well as my parents grew up with him and he’s been part of my family all my life. I will be forwarding this to him. One of the best renditions I have ever heard . You done this classic song so much justice. Absolutely amazing ❤❤❤
I hope you will pass this on to Tom Jones, I've never heard anybody sing this song as good as this Korean young lad, tom will probably say he sings it better than him. This young lad is so talented I keep going back and listening to it time and time again . He's absolutely brilliant. UK fan and I'm 60 years old.
