I'm a 52 year old man with a son who's a senior in high school and another in college. AND I LOVE THIS FREAKING GAME! This isn't just for kids. I have been to Disney world several times over my lifetime, and this game brings some if that magic hime to me. I am absolutely addicted, and my wife hates it bc I won't give the ps5 up so she can play. 😆😆
But did you ever see gay men walking around like fairies like his character in the game? Lol. Im sure disney World wouldn't allow that, unless you take them to the gay park of disney 😂

Another “grown-up” player here. My kids are both living on their own, and my GRANDSON is turning 1 tomorrow. These life sim games are wonderful when done well, and this one is. It’s funny, I am playing on a Switch so the performance isn’t great - my game has crashed multiple times each play session. But I can’t help but think it’s so much better than Animal Crossing because it just feels like a loading screen, and even the Dreamlight Valley crashes seem to take less time than talking to Orville.

Just a secondary tip to the chests: you don't have to limit the chests to just your house. You can place them almost anywhere throughout the world and still access them anywhere. For example, I put mine near all the fishing spots so I can just throw my fish in there when my inventory gets full and grab them when I'm ready to sell or leave them in there so I can cook with em. SUPER useful.

i downloaded this on gamepass and i thought it would just be a soulless cashgrab, but its honestly so genuinely fun and the music is so good
Being able to move anything is honestly my favorite thing in the game. Once I’ve grinding up enough stone for brick paths, I totally plan on redoing the entire valley
Here's a tip: if you're looking for seaweed just use your fishing rod in any spot in water that doesn't have bubbles and that will give you a chance to catch seaweed.
My game doesn't even let me fish where there are no bubbles....
I found that in the glade of trust there is also seaweed on the side of the rivers
Any seaweed you find on the floor doesn’t respawn, obviously that is something that might change in the future
do you happen to know how to change the day and night cycle? I've tried re-syncing my time because I want to be able to decorate at night, with my lamp posts, but I can never get a chance to play long enough at night to be able to do this. I've seen a few articles all saying change time, but its not working, has this been patched out? This is dreadful, i adore this game, but i desperately need some night time so i can decorate :I
I appreciate the real time idea, but i think its going to be very irritating to folks like me, who have limited playtime at night.
@@dani.dee4213 unfortunately there is no way to change time zones in game
TIP 1: DO NOT SPEND YOUR DREAM SHARDS YOU WILL SOFTLOCK YOURSELF (alot of key quest require the pink shards to progress especialy Gothels quest line I don't want to get into spoilers but at one point you can't talk/buy/sell to anyone else during the quest and if you don't have enough shards then your pretty much softlocked from progressing)
TIP 2: you can move you wells in to blocked off areas that you have unlocked and fast travel to them with out needing the upgrade to your tools, this helped get me some emergency dream shards that I needed for my previous tip.

What can I do with dream shards other than quests? I already finished Gothels questline. Can I thought at the beginning I could use them to remove those mushrooms that blocks paths
Disney sent out new dream shards today I think specifically because of this issue.
@@szykospawn I need clay. I am also on switch and we don't have the event tab still. I have to put two pots out with the flowers in front of the store but it said I only have 1 made when I made 2. So I can't advance until I get clay to make a 3rd pot. Cuz it's not counting my 2nd one . They were both given to me by scrooge..but it's saying I only have 1. So I'm stuck on scrooge and can't advance him. So I need clay to make another pot.
Well you can get dream shards by feeding animals there favorite foods and removing night thorns that do reappear after about a day so it is still possible yet takes a long time just like waiting for rain for the one quest.
If you go back into Remy's Realm all the ingredients are free. You can pick up 99 of an ingredient and drop it on the floor near the cooking pot' it doesn't despawn between visits. And any energy you gain in the Realm carries over to the valley. Supper handy in the early game.
That IS a good tip. I ran out of inventory space so I had to start eating all the one-star creations I made, and it filled my energy gauge + extra. That was a nice surprise!
You can just go into your house to refill your energy instantly. No need to run all the way to Remys realm just to eat
@@gferrol118 True, but going to Remy's let's you super charge your stamina so it lasts longer.
@@gferrol118 But you can easily get energy + that full golden bar by making a 4 or 5 star meal for free with his ingredients. Is it necessary? No. But it was a cool little bonus to visiting his realm.
@@ladygrndr9424 or you can just make candy out of 5 cocoa and have an instant 200% charge from 5 cocoa which is super easy to get... stamina basically becomes a non issue after that point...
The outfit is PRICELESS
The furnishing mode is amazing. I use it to locate items i need, even better when i need a flower i just pick it right up in furnish mode and bring it close to me. Same idea with placing large amounts of bushes or trees in one area to have high wood drops. etc
I do the same thing. I just started playing abt two days ago and when i found out i could move flowers TO ME?? game changer..
You can put chests outside too! I have them in each biome to help store biome specific stuff
I do this for seeds next to my crops

I gotta share my pain I experienced today with people who will understand. I am level 36 right now with 7 chest fully stocked. Three of which are stocked with full stacks and even double stacks or food and foragables. And I had these chests placed against the wall along with my gemstones chest and my main house chest with all my resources. So I decided to upgrade the whole first level of my house. And yes I did know about the mechanic that will remove furniture that may be in the way of the new door. But I wasn’t thinking and upgraded the last room... and to my horror, two of my chests(the food and foragables) had disappeared. And just so everyone knows.... the chest do not get placed in your inventory. They disappear forever along with all the hard work you put into collecting everything inside. On the bright side, it was just food and foragables. But man did that sting.
I had a funny feeling about this so all my storage chests are outside. Plus easier access

I wanted to open Remy's portal and accidently opened Moana's, I was able to upgrade my pickaxe throught that biome though.

Move chests from the spot a door will spawn when you add rooms. The game will put most items back in your inventory, but will delete chests and their contents.
This happened to me... two fully stocked chests of food and foragables(full stacks of most)
Where do you move the chests specifically? Away from the wall? Put them in the center?

I can get into the game right now(I'm at work) but if you can place storage chests outside, then it would be a great idea to leave chests in each biome to store stuff instead of trucking it back and clogging your house up with a bunch of chests. I'm a hoarder and have 5 chests full of stuff already in my house.
You didn't mention it while talking about the tool upgrades, but you can also upgrade the watering can to remove mushrooms, by unlocking the swamp and levelling up Merlin

I grouped all my fruit harvestables (raspberries, apples, etc) together in each biome by the farm area I created. That way, I can go down the line instead of gathering all over the biome. It makes it much easier to gather to sell to Goofy.

Save all your iron ore your gonna need it to make iron ingots and you'll need a ton of it. As well as some other things. So stock pile it. Or spend a lot of tine grinding for it. 💙 love your videos!
Being a huge Disney fan and loving animal crossing but unable to play the newest since I don't have a switch this is the best game I've played in a while . I'm amazed at how much there is to do with no being full yet . I watched ur video about farming and had no idea about having someone follow you and it's the best info I've gotten! Once you unlock the ratatouille realm you can make free meals there. Eat them before you leave for faster walking speed and extra energy.
I finally built my first chest last night, my pockets are no longer constantly full 😌

A Tips & Tricks video for how to get Ursula and Ariel's friendship up would be AMAZINGLY helpful. I know I can give them gifts and the like but after Friendship level 7 that becomes a slog LOL And there's only SO many Flowers I can give Ariel before I'm sure she'll grow tired of them XD This game is SO much fun (despite the bugs I'm encountering) and you're a big reason why I've been enjoying it so much!
I find that gems give more friendship so just mine with a character you gave a mining boost to get more gems to give them.
@@rainbinedash9856 I can try that but since Ursula and Ariel are basically locked to the water and you cannot have them following you (to my knowledge, though I believe I read that Ariel gets a human form possibly) it's a bit harder to get them leveled up. I've given them favorite gifts, etc. but in the later levels 7+ it does get a bit harder to do so XD I will try gems though to see how well that boosts both of them.
@@Drakkena550 Well I have figured out that that gems give a good amount in the later levels but a mix of flowers and gems are the best for those 2 characters. Also I don't think that the problem is that they get tired of getting so many of the same gifts but the amount required to increase their level increases each level making it look like the gifts are less effective because it looks like it increases the bar less when it is actually giving the same amount but the bar despite looking the same is larger it requires more to fill it. I have gotten both to max friendship but flowers and gems on level 9 have a very small difference between how much of the bar they fill that it is barely noticeable so just collect all the flowers you can and give them until you max their level. Also for Ursula the max level quest is pretty easy but requires access to all the biomes.
@@rainbinedash9856 Yeah I managed to get them to max level with a bit of a mix of their favorite gifts and just throwing flowers at them. Right now I'm in the quest glitch hell with Elsa so I'm waiting for when the next patch update comes in and PRAYING that it fixes that quest so I can get them all done before working on Scar. Love this game but I haven't been able to play as much just due to the fact that Elsa is glitched out on me with her home quest now lol
i pick flowers from all biomes and drop them in a big area near my house, it's been super helpful when I needed specific flowers for quests because I just go back to my house :)
I make a lot of income from carrot farming, I plant 200 seeds and take a gardening buddy to harvest and receive 400 carrots to sell, easy money :)
One of the tip that I have is go slow because I kind of sped through the game and now I’m going to have to go back and grind for all these things when I could’ve just slowly gone through the game and enjoyed playing it rather than rushing to get to the next biome
Tip:If you didnt know this the game is also able to play without internet to and yes everything you do well be there when you put internet on Xbox or pc or what you able to play on ^.^ i love that it gives me something to do so im not bord when i have nothing to do
You can move the stalls and wells too! They need to be on their own biome but it is great for efficient fast traveling.

Another tip that I couldn't find when I searched for it. If you sig a hole up, you can cover it back up with the shovel. Also, in regards to moving items, it doesn't look like you can move Goofy's stalls out of the areas that they are in. I had thought I would make a market area by moving his stalls over by Scrooge's building, and they turn red and can't be placed.
Dig a bunch of holes and need them filled in? Don't fill them in by hand, go into furniture mode and drag a piece of furniture over them. It will get rid of the holes. I figured this out AFTER filling in a massive plot I wanted moved.

I'm 38 and I just bought it for 25$ it's fun. As a kid I use to fall asleep listening to a radio station all about Disney. It's nostalgic and fun. I love Sims and Disney and wasn't a big fan of Animal crossing. But don't like the crashing on switch.

When you open your map, you can see in the bottom right you can fast travel - this includes to the different realms. I only found out after unlocking all of the realm characters so I hope someone sees this before they get to that point xD

A lot of stuff like cosmetics will be locked behind a battle pass like subscription. You can see what it will be like right now with the current event going on.

the pickaxe upgrades you will get from maui the shovel upgrade you get it from anna and the watercan upgrade you probably get it from merlin when progressed enough the very first realm you unlock will depend on what answer you give merlin 1 answer a desolate planet with a shy robot will get you wally 2 a big kitchen with a little chef will get you ratatouille 3 an ocean with a demigod will get you moana and mauis realm

so far i love this game except one thing...the movement. its very...idk how to explain it properly but its too fast but also too slow. you like run but when you stop its a weird slow stop? i kinda feel heavy too but besides the movement the game is fun so far. im worried about pay to win shet though, i mean its disney, all they want is money
i agree with the movement, it like feels weirdly clunky and has the movement feel of like a ps2 game but agreed other than that its quite good
31 year old dark violent gaming fan and I love this game.
I myself and some other ppl ran into a glitch when making Scrooges flower pots at the beginning of the game and now I have to mine clay so I can’t upgrade my house.
Any tips on solving this without gaining the 5k needed to get into an area with clay? I don’t think this is what the game intended

I've made both of them and it only says I have 1 made.
I saw that too but it works just make the other 2 there's 2 sets of 2 . The one set you can make let's you complete the quest for Scrooge. I was wondering what clay? But you don't need to to get some thars the glitch. Idk about house upgrades later I managed to upgrade mine ok but not fully upgraded yet. The real issue with the game is collecting certain items that get stuck in stupid places out of reach when they jump out of books memory orbs or a Donald duck quest where a needed item goes under a table or something. I've not got to that part yet. Also guys be careful feeding critters can only feed once a day and if you start a quest you can't finish it til a whole day later if you have fed. Be careful with everything you collect save up rarer items for quests later avoid temptation to sell some things in case you need them later. Like rare types of each ore maybe.

Can you change the assignments that you give to a character? I recently learned about assigning jobs or tools and most of my characters are just assigned to gardening because I didn't know this about this feature yet.

Is there ability of more than one profile? Can I have my own world and someone else also play their own.
They need to boost being able to get dream shards because even after clearing the thorns I've barely gotten 2 or 3 after the introductory missions and some missions you need 4 or more and Ursula needs 6 of them.
I know, this is killing me. I barely get one shard after clearing a new area. I stupidly turned all the ones I got at the start into dream light and now I'm fucked
You can also get some by feeding the small animals their favorite foods. I was softlocked and needed some and figured out by feeding the animals it’s like almost more than 50/50 chance you get one
They just mailed about 25 to combat the missing shards. Did you get them?
So I hit level 10 in high friendship with Anna and Moana but the outfits didn’t unlock ?

actually, they Have said there is going to be microtransactions.. but they will be for customizing items only, not for items that will speed up your gameplay

i am enjoying the game a lot but i am so frustrated because i can't figure out where to find oysters. i've tried fishing for them and i've gathered everything i can find on the beach and i have yet to find one. it's driving me absolutely nuts!
