I find it funny that it seems he walks into a random museum, slaps some clay on a artifact, peels it off and leaves as if nothing happened. Seriously though great work.
Hello from a Canadian and former CNC stone fabricator in Ottawa! I can sincerely appreciate that you are indeed an absolutely amazing stone fabricator. You have the rare skill of the ancient masters! Congratulations for showing us your fine work!
CNC Stone Fabricator? Wow, I didn’t know such a vocation existed! A common excuse you’ll hear from the architectural world is that there are no more traditional craftsmen or stone masons who can do such things anymore. But CNC? I thought about that!!
Videos like this truly bring me joy. It makes you wonder why we lost this beautiful craftmanship in the ways we did. We need more of this again. It fills our souls with beauty and inspiration. Great video and outstanding work sir! 🤜🤛
@@charlie.gee__Mate have you thought about doing an online course? Explaining what materials you use, tools for specific jobs, lime mortar mix ratio ect. That windowseal repair was great, I need to repair bay windows due to the lack of drainage window seal cracked and flaking, ruined all the patterns at the top of the pilars and the moulds in the centre and bottom.
absolutely loved this. shorts always have a very "rushed" feel to them. This seems almost therapeutically calm. The process is better represented here. would love to see more like this
*I'm in awe of your talent and creativity Charlie. Watching you carve works of pure beauty into plain stone is just blissful. You're a very special person, and what you share with us here is a gift. Thank you.* ❤
I've walked past the main cathedral in my city (St Paul's in Melbourne) many times in my life, but it was only after seeing this channel that I paused to look at and admire the stonemasons' work.
I'm blown away by the hard work and dedication that has allowed him to become the artist that he is, a true master of his craft! I appreciate seeing people excel in life and finding something that brings serenity and fulfillment.
I especially liked how you showed your process and finished by making a beautiful object from natural materials by carving it in the woods under natural light. Brilliant.
Beautiful work Charlie mate. I work at Arbroath Abbey in Scotland and we don’t have much of this highly detailed work to reproduce as it was built in 1178, and ransacked by Henry VIII and Cromwell during the Protestant reformation, so very little is left, in the whole building is unroofed. Would love an opportunity to hew some stone like this. Keep up the good work mate, you’re only a youngster and you’re already a better stonemason/cutter than I am. Fabulous stuff.
Real men recognize skill and talent mate. U have mastered ur craft at a young age. Can just imagine the final product you will be producing in 20 yrs time. Respect mate. 👊
Oh my God this video is by far the best. The Cinimatoggraphy of this video is so beyond good, I loved watching this so much and the sound if you tapping and watching you work is the most beautiful thing I've ever watched
CIAO! Charlie, Excellent! You are getting a perfect carving a stone Flower " Rossetta". Glad me so much watching your technical mason man on Stones. Grazzie,
Charlie, your work is amazing! Please post more long form videos. You wont believe where taking the time to document your work will take you above and beyond where your talent alone will. God bless you.
I said before I had a great apprenticeship in plastering. Fibre, solid in situ renovation lath and lime work. That's my talent. Everybody as a gift, just you need to find it and nurtured. Kudos to you chas. Your fucking good. May you get even better. Can't change excellence. My upmost respect 👍👍👍👍
When I watch these videos I see deep into the past. It blows my mind how cathedrals were done without tape measures. They understood that nature of building. No wonder the guilds held their secrets tight. So happy to see this craft in the hands of a passionate artist
It's gorgeous, well done! I'm sure you know, and it may be the limitation of the stone you are using but the original has much deeper relief under the leaf-tips and folds. Keep going, it's such a lovely craft!
Je suis admiratif de votre talent de sculpteur de pierre! La précision et la dextérité me fait la thérapie du formidable travail de chef-d'œuvre que vous faites! 😉👍
Charlie... i am well late to your channel mate, but what you do is absolutely fucking class! As an architect/designer it is great to see someone with proper craft on the tools. Too many of the young team running around sites with a paslode thinking they know how to build and create. Keep it up man.
People on the internet think you don't exist and that old buildings were built by either literal magic or aliens a opposed to hard work. It is bananas.
There is no way the pyramids were built by people using simple tools, no lasers nothing, that's precisely. Stop conflating that to stone masonry of the post medieval period
Wow man you are amazing and only 21 god bless you man Definitely need to see more of the process I wanna b able to Fully appreciate how much you put into these pieces
And you would think that America would have loved to keep up with the Roman and Greeks. But no. Love the videos man! I never seen it done before. It was always a mystery to me, I couldn’t fathom someone actually making it from scratch. Thanks! I’m actually really interested in it now 😅
Hello sir! Thank you for sharing your skills and work with us. These all are masterpieces. May I ask your opinion about ancient/antique stone decor of ruined temples and castles etc. Im wondering is that possible to made all thst just by hands and primitive tools?
Weirdly enough I wonder what it would look like if you made a plaster cast of your hands now and then after 20-30 years made another one to see the changes your hands take while doing stonework.
Love the longer videos Charlie, would love to see more in depth how you create these beautiful pieces
Came here to say the same thing
Yeah, do some tutorials...
Это сайт для женщин. ..Мужчина это сделает без пафоса.😉И быстрее.🪓🛠️

Charlie you and your passion are an inspiration to me, no matter that I'm older
Charlie carrying on the stonemasons tradition...that built magnificent cathedrals a 1000 years ago in UK, Ireland and Europe.👏👏

Makes me think of visiting Dunfermaline Abbey north of Edinburgh in my youth.
Equally ruined in places, but very interesting to walk around.
Thank you we need more people keeping true art forms alive. We can’t forget what we are capable of.
Wow, beautiful. It's great to see the art and skill of the Renaissance is still alive. Thank you for posting this.
This is very impressive, thank you for keeping this art form alive.

Absolutely amazing ❤
Super cool vid and surprisingly cinematic lol. Keep it up boss.
Love your stuff mate... you create beautiful works
Our Ancestors witnessed the arts of Michaelangelo and Leonardo. Now, we are witnessing the arts of Charlie.
Weirdly enough I wonder what it would look like if you made a plaster cast of your hands now and then after 20-30 years made another one to see the changes your hands take while doing stonework.

Beautiful ❤❤❤
Работа просто супер👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Incroyable talent 👏🙏
Can you please do a longer video about how you used the compas to transfer the pattern to the stone?
Great talent and skills. Quick question, I know when honed. How would you describe the textural experience of the marble while chiselling / carving?
The original has so much depth or relief.
I love yours longer videos.
Good with the pencil too my god some skill sir great vids👌👌
