- I'M BACK! Thank you guys so much for giving me some time off... It was much needed. I was actually working on this cover on Feb. 12 which was the day before the accident. I never got to finishing it until now. God has been so good to me you guys. I can't wait for you all to see and know about everything I'm working on! It's going to be a busy rest of the year for me, but I'm hoping to stay consistent on here as much as I can! I hope you all are blessed by this video. I love you guys!

I just watched all your recent videos after seeing your idol audition and my heart is broken for you but is also lifted by you....You and your family. I understand why you needed to step away but I have to admit, me and my kiddos really missed seeing your beautiful face and angelic voice on my UA-cam notices weekly. My 5 year old daugher cried seeing this video. My 18 month old son loves you so much he kisses my phone. No one gets kisses from him. We ask for one and all he will let us kiss is his forehead. What an amazing God. There have been several times in my life where Yeshua has had to pick up the pieces and put them back together. The most recent time was about 18 months ago following 3 years of darkness. Thank you, Yeshua for never giving up on me and putting these shattered pieces back together even better than before. Genavieve, you already know this but Yeshua will pick your pieces (and your family's) and put them all back together in a way you can never imagine!

Genavieve, this is still my absolute favorite. It think it's because the soft notes are so soft and clear and sweet, juxtaposed with the incremental strengthening of the dynamics as the song continues. Your voice has amazing power, always, but for some reason, in this recording, the touch is so light and so beautiful, it actually stands out for me from even some of your more powerful covers (like "Never enough", your Grandpa's favorite).
I didn't even mention the lyrics. Your cover was the first time I'd heard this song, and it hit me at a time in my life when I'd gone through some very painful losses, so the redemptive character and love of God in the lyrics added a different dimension that was also extremely powerful, but also so gentle through the love and feeling of your voice. It's so touching.
Finally, you looked like you also needed a hug, just like I did. I sing, too. Maybe some day, I can send you a recording that will be just as beautiful and healing. Until then, I'm certain your technique will continue to grow in breadth and acuity, but the most important part of your singing comes from you, so I hope you always look to your own heart for what's best about your singing. When your heart sings, the walls of Jericho evaporate, and streaks of sunlight pour down between former rain clouds, making everything feel new. It's so beautiful.

I just want to say that you are so inspiring. I know because of Jesus you're able to cope with losing your sister. I wish I was as strong as you.(I'm 40, so I feel a little ridiculous confiding in someone so young).I lost my mom to lung cancer November 21,2013 and my dad to a burst anyurism December 23,2018. Losing my dad broke me. I was so mad at God and because of that, for a year I was depressed and so very angry and pretty much pushed everyone away. It was a nightmare. I'm slowly getting back to where I need to be. Watching your journey and this video has really helped.
