I remember this episode ! I was introduced to Lucy Liu in Shanghai Noon in 2000, she played Princess Pei Pei, and I remember watching reruns of Hercules the Legendary Journeys on a national TV channel, so I immediately recognized a younger version of her here !

its part of the plot, because the first dude is the partner of Lucy Liu's character and she wants to free him with Herc's help, you see him again later on.

Until I bought the series a while back on dvd and rewatched it, I had forgotten Karl Urban had a reoccurring role in Hercules and Xena, playing Cupid and Caeser.

Something about this old film that keep u captivated and want to see more.
Never understood why Hercules didn't just sack the whole slave market, but then again the slave traders would probably set up shop in the next town. Too institutionalized so Herc had to participate within its confines to free her.
Plus, slave trade must be legal in that town so him sacking the place would have just gotten him in trouble with the law.
Hercules doesn't kill innocent people and slavery was legal, so technically that makes the slavers innocent.

The thing that bothered me most was the continuity. Lucy Liu and her husband were captured and sold as slaves. Yet after they get free, suddenly they are capable fighters who know kung-fu that they didn't use earlier because the plot had to happen. If they had done that earlier to avoid being captured then this would've been a shorter episode.
Even capable fighters couldn't fight back due to many reasons (i.e. family being threatened, village community being threatened, etc). Hence they sacrificed themselves to slavery.
That old hair auctioneer that sells the slaves sounds like the Voice of Yami in Yugioh
Setting a slave free in a slave house is the dumbest thing ive ever heard of. You lose your money and someone else picks up a bargain. Probably the original seller will just scoop her back up. Not a great plan.
Why does this shock you? Every free person or citizen in them days would buy a slave and obviously Hercules is keeping her from a brothel. Slaves were the norm in ancient times so what exactly is your point?
Lot of big stars were on Hercules before they became household names
I knew that karl urban (before he played eomer in the lotr and billy butcher in the boys and other stuff) played julius cesar and cupid in some episodes and he shows up in xena as the same characters yes i know the xena and Hercules were in the same universe

Hate to break it to ya but nope. Plus it would take an awful lot of convincing to get Hercules to get serious with a woman again. Unless he's drugged or by magical means, this guy doesn't roll like that. He even distinctly said he doesn't want to leave a string of fatherless children.
