Don't worry, you're not the only one. My mouth was on the floor the entire time watching it. I have never seen a MV like this ever. They've really found their sweet spot with how they balance their rap and vocal lines on this track (in fact, the entire mini album). No body is doing it like them, they are in a league of their own. This is without a doubt XG's magnum opus thus far. The reason for how cinematic this MV is because of the director Cho Gi-Seok. He was originally a photographer, evident by how every frame can pretty much be a standalone, and I believe his first time directing an MV was for XG's GRL GVNG on their first mini album. Then he directed XG's Woke Up, which can be seen as the precursor to what you're witnessing in HOWLING. I genuinely believe they're just 1 smash hit away from completely blowing up with how strong their discography is. It's only a matter of time now.
XG DON'T MISS! Visuals expands the atmosphere of the song and creates an immersive feeling draws the audience into a wild world. The music video depict XG coming from outer space, tearing apart a standardized city where everything is controlled in the same way, transforming it into it own nature, and gradually expanding its power. The work strongly expresses the group strong unity, like a pack of wolves, and their will to change the existing order and world in their own way.
I agree ☝🏽 with your analysis and commentary. XGALX and Simon deserve an award for this Beautiful MV. 🏹🌱🪴🌺🌘 I personally love all the Michael Jackson’s music 🎼 references. That JAZZ BASS Intro though 🥊💥🌶️🫕. Thank you for reacting to XG’s new “HOWLING” MV. 🐺
If you want to hear more vocals, check out “in the rain” and “is this love” off their mini album. Those are R&B tracks with lots of background vocals and harmonies. Could easily be title tracks on anyone else’s album.
Just WOW! XG has behind the scenes for their vids and I'd be interested in your take. It shows a lot of the physical sets they use. Awesome reaction!🫡🐺✌️
Qr code is pig. Wolves=predators, pig=prey. The red eyes remind me of the anime Jin Roh The Wolf Brigade. There is also a korean version called Illang. Its about people who are predators (Cocona & Maya) living amongst the prey. There also seems to be some Princess Monoke references in here as well (nature fighting back.)
They invaded and conquered a plant. But I feel like they somehow modernized/created something new/got inspiration from Princess Mononoke; the wolf princesses, wolf army, nature over industry, where they step grows plants/they represent nature, etc. I think someone said the QR code was pig which Nago, in Princess Mononoke, was a Boar God who was tainted by a bullet (which was kind of like tentacle vines things in the movie).
my interpretation of the MV is that we now live in a world where technology took over and is controlling all of us, so each of the girls represent different generations/eras/mother nature and they are invading the world of technology, AI, etc. hence, the last part of the MV where Chisa shot down the king of technology(?) and turned the world like how it was during the old times. but maybe that’s just me 😅
I feel like there has to have been AI involved in making this. It kind of has that “look” to it sometimes, and I genuinely can’t understand how they could have made some parts of it without it.
Amazing Takeaway.!! Could you recommend a solid/decent headphone for better listening that will allow to hear instrumental at greater details.? Thank you!
Personally I'm so used to just mixing headphones which are a bit different than your normal listening headphones haha so I probably am not a good person to ask lol mixing headphones sound much different and that's what I use most of the time
Yeah I was kind of thinking the same thing but I'm not sure 100% if that's the case but everything was so flawless it didn't really bother me at all so if they did use it it was done very well like you said
Can you please react to ATEEZ Pirate King is their debut song but I recommend guerrilla they also have a comeback tomorrow so that'd be a good opportunity too 😁
I've heard them already and loved them!! With little time I have to react I try and stay up to date checking out the new music sometimes when I get a little extra time I will flash back!
Producers: Simon Jakops (real name Park Jun-ho), Knave, Lyricks, Chancellor (also all Korean) MV Producer/Director - Cho Gi-seok(Korean), who did Woke Up and others. So yes...made possible by the Kpop system, but not Korean girls. Similar to Katseye, Niziu, VCHA, Blackswan...
one of the BEST MVs ive seen in my entire LIFE ..
For real

Donde había un tirano que destruyó la naturaleza@@rokmanreacts
Jurin told us in woke up. The three goddesses/vocal line up and the rest landing and infiltrating to kill and convert the natives.

Oh wow also just heard there's a behind the scenes video
XG WELL deserves to win some awards and iykyk why they got 0 nominated MAMA 2024.

This is how dragon ball z the movie should have looked 😔

I love my Bose headphones. Amazing sound
If the Ewoks were allowed to be badasses, you would get these warriors!!!
😂
Yes just says pig
Haha
A decent amount of this MV looks enhanced by AI, but it's tastefully done so it's not immediately noticeable.
Th outcome is what matters. Whether it’s ai or not is irrelevant. The artistry speaks for itself

Producers: Simon Jakops (real name Park Jun-ho), Knave, Lyricks, Chancellor (also all Korean)
MV Producer/Director - Cho Gi-seok(Korean), who did Woke Up and others.
