I definitely see the comparison, but "Sharona" is so famous for doing the 'straight-octave' thing...meaning like, it's just the same one note being played an octave apart, going 'down-down-up-up-down-up-down-up-down-down-up', etc. Perhaps ironically, this "fake band"'s song is more complex, and the bass and guitar are doing that post-punk deal where the instruments are kinda darting around each other, so everything ends up feeling like it's at an angle, so to speak.
