      Donna Lini - by “values”, do mean the child abuse? They beat the shit out of newborns in order to “train them up”so they fear their parents. They’ll put a baby on a blanket and tell them to stay. Then they try to lure the baby off the blanket with its favorite toys. If the child crawls off the blanket, they beat them and force them back onto the blanket. They repeat this until the child is so fucking scared they can’t even move off a blanket in terror.
      Or are you talking about the homeschool curriculum they teach that’s designed to keep kids stupid and to provide boys for the Institute to use as slave labor and girls for the Institute to use as slave labor as well as easy targets for molestation?
      There’s a reason the parents never did a damn thing with the oldest Duggar touched his own sisters inappropriately. They’re fine with that sort of thing. I highly suggest you do some reading/watching on the Quivverfull movement.

    I grew up in a house with 7 kids. Me being the 3rd oldest, I helped with the younger kids. Not because I was forced, but because I wanted to. I was the mother hen of my younger siblings. I babysat for some of the neighbors too. We all had chore to do and didn't hurt any of us. We learned how to take care of a household, by learning how to clean house, wash dishes, do the laundry, yard work..................If parents don't give kids chores and train them, how are kids suppose to know how to clean their own house, etc.? Helping with the younger siblings, taught me a lot about taking care of my own.

    I think Kelly explains this issue very well from 4:40 to 5:20. She says that since the baby is already alive she would not deny medical help to the baby if it needs it. I love this family! they are a true inspiration to me and I hope to all of you that are watching this as well. May the Lord bless you and keep you all:)

      Because they don't truly believe in leaving it up to god, they believe in purposefully having as many children as you possible can. They are a part of the Gothard/Quiverfull cult which mandates that wives give birth to as many children as they possible can, even if it kills them. The #1 goal of Quiverfull Cult is to "outbreed'' nonbelievers and sinners in order to raise up a generation that will take over the US government and start Christian Law. I was raised in this cult up until I started refusing to follow the tenants. It's creepy and controlling.

      Did you watch? Because the older kids take care of them. And until they got onto tv they lived in basic poverty. Gil Bates is a grifter and in leadership of an extreme fundamentalist group. The family lived in a tiny little house with out proper medical care for years and even when they got an extension on their home via the Duggars, the kids still all shared one room per gender. If you watched, you'll see that they have no health insurance and rely on the ER to care for them, which means more money for the taxpayers to pay.

      There is NOTHING wrong with older kids helping out with younger kids. It teaches them responsibility. God Forbid if we make our kids do any kind of work in this day and age! These children look well adjusted, happy and they're obviously loved by two great parents. I'm sure their kids are more polite, mature, responsible, dependable, etc. than most pre-teen and teenage kids in this country. Kids are so spoiled now and most of us are raising some very self-entitled, lazy, and ungrateful kids. I a mother to six children (2 girls and 4 boys) each of them are two years apart. 3 of them are grown now and in college. They always helped out with their younger siblings and did a buddy system thing too. Does that mean that I or my husband made them do everything? No, not at all. But they were taught and expected to help out. I think it made them closer to their siblings and far more responsible people. ALL of my kids are very respectful, kind, GRATEFUL, loving people! I'm not a person who likes kids, they annoy me, but this family is a TRUE family. Religion doesn't matter now. They protect their children, they spend so much time together - more than an average family, where mother and father both work and see their kids only in the evenings. They can AFFORD having so many kids, so good luck! :)

      Well, yes it is, but they are doing it to create an army for god. i don't believe in god so to me this is not rational. Besides, who can give enough attention to that many kids, and who in this day and age can support them? I think they rely a lot on the older kids to care for the younger ones, which in my opinion is not fair. I feel sorry for Jana, she gets stuck with a lot of work. But, you are right, if they want to have that many kids, and can support them, they have the right to do so.

      petmom ful Anyone with siblings know they have to help out. If that makes your parents selfish then so be it. They kids are homed schooled, Im willing to bet they see thier parents more than most. There are some families with 1,2,3,4 kids than barely see thier parents.They seem like a very close knit family who are able to talk to thier parents about personal issue. Jana is barley featured on the show and has no social media people know very little about her personal life and what she doesn't with her time. speculating that all she does is parent the kids is base less. Also the duggars and bates and many families such as thier do seem to be saving,investing and supporting thier families just fine before the cameras came along.

    • @petmomful2260
      @petmomful2260 9 років тому +4

      I have read several things that said Jana was not happy always having to do so much. I guess we will have to agree to disagree. Making an army for god, on this overpopulated planet, is not a rational idea, imho.

      petmom ful Were those actual quotes from jana or speculation from tabloid articles from unknown 'sources'. Or 'wehateduggars' 'freejinger' ;qiverfallduggars' forums. Let's compare that to what jana actually says on the show,books and the rare times she posts on the family instagram. She says she's happy and loves her family. You don't have to agree with thier lifestyle just as some don't agree with yours. Some people are happy living thier unconventional lives. Different stokes for different folks. Accept your way isn't the only way.

    I grew up in a big family (ten kids, not eighteen) and I detested it. You lose your individuality to the mass that is your family, you're a joke in public and what should be easily affordable necessities to anyone with a job becomes scarce. I was forced to take the unnecessary responsibility of caring for my younger siblings, which is actually supposed to be my parents' job.

      It seems to me that if "love God" you would understand that His word never mentions having "too many children", only that children are a blessing from the Lord (Psalm 127:3-5). As Mother Teresa said, saying there are too many children is "...like saying there are too many flowers." It would be really nice if Christians like yourself would choose to say kind things about fellow believers like the Bates, rather than tearing them down, or, if you don't agree with their lifestyle, to not be part with all the hateful people on this comment page.

    The dad says, with a huge smile, that it's okay that they don't have health insurance, because they can walk into any emergency room and get the best care available for free. --- well, somebody ELSE has to pay for it, Buddy!
    And those people consist of decent, hard-working, responsible taxpayers who are often financially strapped themselves. *Living your life on your own terms is one thing; living your life on someone else's dime is another.*
    These insane parents are leaches on society. And it's not fair to their kids, either! There simply aren't enough hours in a day for these nuts to pay significant *individual attention* to that many children. I sincerely doubt if they could tell you each of their kids' birthdays!
    But the mom's not worried about any of that. She's too busy cutting out construction paper for tomorrow's "school" lesson about how the dinosaurs were standing next to the poodles on Noah's ark.
    Give me a break. And give her uterus one, too.

      Why do you assume they don't pay for a doctor's fee? How uncharitable for you to jump to that conclusion. They own their own business and live frugally. Doctor's bills for an occasional broken bone is a lot cheaper than insurance. He supports his family with his tree-trimming business and they built their house debt-free. They pull their own weight and teach their kids to do the same. That's called responsibility. And she's proving that a woman's body is obviously designed to handle this just fine, thank you very much!

      1robinsong2 If everyone else pays health insurance and these people stroll in expecting hospital care which they apparantly won't pay for that is leeching off the health system. These people are hypocrites anyway. Oh birth control is wrong but hormones to help me are o.k. That is a double standard no matter what rubbish kelly comes out with.

      Doesn't the baby just fall out of her by now? She doesn't give herself enough time to heal properly, and after that many kids, (I know she isn't getting vaginal reconstructive surgery, and kegel exercises can only do so much) plus her age… so these babies have got to be just dropping out of her! I'm surprised her husband can even tell if he's inside of her or not!

    They have 19 now, but Kelly has had 23 pregnancies in the last 24 years (19 births, 4 miscarriages). Kelly miscarried twice in between Ellie and Callie, and in between Judson and Jeb. As we obviously know, the Duggars have 19 kids. Michelle has had 19 pregnancies (17 pregnancies, 2 of them were sets of twins). Michelle miscarried a baby she named Caleb 23 years ago (in between Josh, Jana, and John David) and miscarried Jubilee nearly a year ago.

    If I would've been introduced to a Bates or Duggar boy, I'd run so fast and far. Because no matter which family you marry into, you're expected to pop out as many babies as your body will allow. My one and only pregnancy was so hard, I couldn't imagine doing it 19 times.

    I love this family! Psalm 127 says
    Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
    It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
    Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

    It blows me away it's so hard for people now days to wrap their head around a couple who believes in treating all their children the same whether they are inside of their body and only 2 days old or outside of their body and 10 years old. Location and size shouldn't determine amount of love and care you give to your children, and if it does maybe you should revaluate your priorities

    I never understand why people have to be so nasty. It's their belief and their right to do as they wish with their family. What happened to being tolerant?

    • @bethbollig7414
      @bethbollig7414 10 років тому +4

      It seems that people are tolerant as long as the other person/group believe the same as they do. Christians are taking a beating all over the world. Example: A pregnant Christian in Sudan? was sentenced to death because she refused to change over to islam. That is an extreme example of intolerance but a common one more and more.

    • @takingcareofmine
      @takingcareofmine 10 років тому +4

      I agree but even in the US Christian are being shown much intolerance, not physically beaten yet but emotionally I do believe. Those who scream for tolerance of their choices and lifestyles are very intolerant of anyone who disagrees with them. We need to all be in prayer.

    • @errolmcinnes7938
      @errolmcinnes7938 10 років тому +14

      it isn't about the tolerance, it's about the hypocricy. they pray to "God" to "gift" them with children, then they take viability enhancers because "God" isn't giving them enough kids. Then they exploit the kids by signing a deal with a network to profit on being professional breeders who have the children raise the children. That's the height of parental irresponsibility.

    Man, I'm one of eight kids and I thought that was hell. It has scarred me in a lot of ways. I really feel sorry for these innocent children who have been inflicted to suffer because of their irresponsible parents. Very self absorbed parenting style, I highly doubt these children are getting the individual care they need to become functional members of society as adults...such a cult mentality.

    @lightonwater95 What's wrong with helping out around the house by watching your sibs? I used to have to help out by watching my baby sister. And I also help out by picking up her toys, do the dishes, do the rugs, wash my own clothes and even cut the grass sometmes! It called chores, something that kids don't know about theses days. And there was just 3 of us kids. And before you go judging me she was only 2 years old at the time, so she was just a baby before I went off to college!

  • @AshtonKayte

    They said " no matter your financial status, hospitals are to treat you basically all the same". Hospitals can not turn people away, they are required to treat a patient, even if they do not have health insurance. Either you could set up a payment plan afterwards, or if you can not pay it then it comes out of tax payers incomes. I have seen many people come into the hospital that I work in and they do not have insurance and do not set a payment plan, you fill in the blanks. Granted they may pay.
