It’s really a sturdy camper, I get up once in the night and don’t want to go find a bathroom at 2 am so that camper isn’t for me, but it’s really great!
You dont get the Tacoma over here in the UK/Ireland. Im now about to head off and read reviews comparing it to the Toyota Hilux which is what we get over here. Absolutely loved the Khaya camper, might just be my next plan of action. I've a good few videos of us overlanding in Ireland on my channel if anyone wants to check them out.
I enjoyed the videos. Watched all three loved the scenic views. Amazing camper. I almost purchased a Tacoma 3 years ago I've wondered if I missed out on an amazingly capable truck ?. Are you gonna take another cross country trip ? If so I'd love to see the video of the adventure. Thanks
Thank you for watching! Chris used our truck on the way back to our shop. The Tacoma is a great vehicle for off-roading and overlanding but there are quite a few vehicles on the market that are just as good, if not better in many ways! Be sure to check out Chris' channel on UA-cam -- Venture4WD!
This is awesome- just watched all 3 videos. This looks like a great alternative to the cool Troopy builds you see from Australia and/or South Africa that we can’t get in the states. How much does it weigh? It looks a little heavy on some of the trails. Is there a “tray” version that removes the bed to save weight and have more room?
With all the bells and whistles this rig has and like you said it was hot in some places. Does this have a fantastic fan or a/c? As nice as it is, it is a black metal box..
The sides are all covered in hollow storage spaces that keep the sun off the metal sides and the highest point has the 3 big windows. I don't think it is as bad as it looks and probably has more air exchange than a traditional slide in. But I would probably invest in a 12v USB wired fan or 2 for the Sunbelt if it was mine.
Carl Rice I didn’t consider the hollow spaces, thanks. However I tend to camp in the summer where it’s 100°+ with humidity so some sort of a/c would be a must. Have you tried Castillo’s camp soap? Use it on dishes, clothes, auto, skin, hair and won’t hurt the environment at all.
@@WulfricTheBlack I agree, while we are at the hunting camp in November there are also trips in the spring and summer to get ready for the season and sleeping in AC is a must for north FL summers.
The Khaya doesn't have an A/C unit, but it does have a heat option powered by diesel. These products are designed and made in South Africa and used all over the world. The outside can get hot but the inside stays much cooler. Thanks for watching!
I'm not sure you have the pre-cleaner on the snorkel in the right orientation. I believe it is supposed to be directed to the back, not actually in the back. Not 100% sure though.
Personal question, no judgement. I watch alot of these vids of peeps living this kind of lifestyle. And they all seem to be just single persons and not couples. Is this by choice or is this kind of lifestyle more suited for single living, expense wise and all. Love your vids very relaxing keep up the great work!
There are a few couples we've seen out there! If you want to see more videos like this, be sure to checkout Chris' channel - Venture4WD! Thanks for watching!
Unfortunately it isn't. However, Ursa Minor has a product you may find useful for camping. We do have the Alu-Cab Canopy Camper available for the new Jeep Gladiator. Thanks for watching!
Hello, we don't just repost Chris' videos. We work with Chris where he gave us episodes of his travels that were a bit different than what was on his channel. He also used to do weekly write-ups as well as photos. You can find those older posts on our website: ok4wd.com/blog/category/along-for-the-ride/ Thanks for watching.
That is why I commute from Pennsylvania! All joking aside, New Jersey is a beautiful state and we wouldn't change our location for the world. If you want to see more content from Chris, checkout his channel on UA-cam -- Venture4WD. Thanks for watching! -James @ OK4WD
Nice video, great truck.. just alittle concerned about where the water from the shower goes.. ? Herbal Essence shampoo like most shampoos shouldnt just be emptied into the soil or general environment. Like I said nice video but that was concerning.
Vans are great! We are building one now for the owner and his wife to go across the U.S. for a few months (once COVID-19 passes). They definitely have a place and offer a lot more creature comforts. However, if off-roading is your focus in travels, you can run into the limits pretty quick whereas a built 4WD vehicle gives your more capability at the sacrifice of comfort and amenities. Thanks for watching!
I love that you have no music. just long scenes of silence or the actual sound of nature, birds, wind etc. this is like meditation to watch.
Be sure to check out Chris' channel on UA-cam -- Venture4WD! Thanks for watching!
Did anyone else cringe when the metal spoon hit that non stick pan?? Great video! LOVE that camper...too bad about the cost of them...
yes, I could almost hear my mom scolding me for not using a plastic paddle
Yeah I was like "nooooooooooooooooooo". I moan like hell if anyone does it to any of my stuff when we are out camping most weekends.
Its not a non stick. its cast iron
🤣 same
Fantastic quality of you're videos, thank you 😊🙏
I really enjoyed your adventures and scenery route. Thank you for taking the time and effort into making this amazing experience to share with us! 👍

I like your car, very nice
It’s really a sturdy camper, I get up once in the night and don’t want to go find a bathroom at 2 am so that camper isn’t for me, but it’s really great!
That is definitely a concern. We recommend a toilet from a company called Wrappon so that way you don't have to leave the camper. Thanks for watching!
That's awesome they let you stay on their farm

He forgot the Louisiana hot sauce for those scrambled eggs.
Nothing like some hot sauce and scrambled eggs! Thanks for watching!

Is there room in the Khaya for a porta potty or a cassette toilet?
Hi Bill! We recommend a portable toilet from Wrappon. Thanks for watching!
could the khaya be fitted or custom sized for a jeep 4dr Rubicon? or would it be cheaper just to buy new vehicle?
Unfortunately it isn't. However, Ursa Minor has a product you may find useful for camping. We do have the Alu-Cab Canopy Camper available for the new Jeep Gladiator. Thanks for watching!
I’m just gonna start reposting Chris’s videos.

would someone be able to install and remove this camper themselves before and after trips?
Yes, the best part about the Khaya is it can be removed like any other traditional slide-in Camper

I'd be too embarrassed to drive anything with New Jersey license plates on it.

Get a Van...........................
Did you see part 1?
Good luck doing that with your van
