    Sometimes I think it's funny how scientists name new species.
    "Kinda looks like a churro?"
    "Ok we go with that."

    Imagine living your whole life in darkness and then some guy passes by with a huge torch and you suddenly see everything around you and it turns out to be this desolate landscape and your neighbours are the unholy offspring of the devil.

    If we found something like a sock worm on Mars, people would be freaking out and throwing billions of dollars at NASA to look for more species. I mean, don't get me wrong, so would I. But isn't it sad that we have all this undiscovered life and these species that look like they might as well be aliens right here on our own planet and we don't do nearly enough to learn about them?

      ***** I could tell it's not CGI because there are a lot of subtleties that are in the animations that would take an expert animator to recreate. Bad CGI leaves it's mark because everything has the exact same spacing. (the distance an object moves between frames)

    Can a deep sea creature survive being hammered on surface?

    • @DawnOfErik
      @DawnOfErik 8 років тому +15

      While I don't know the answer, I can tell you that impact and pressure are to very different kinds of strain. It would surprise me if these deep sea creatures have evolved resistance to impact forces, given that they don't have to withstand waves or any object travelling at high velocities really.

    • @Primalxbeast
      @Primalxbeast 8 років тому +9

      Underwater pressure doesn't have as much of an effect on solid objects as you might think because it's pressing evenly from all sides. You don't feel any pressure at all on a 60 foot SCUBA dive, but if someone put a 60 foot tall container of water on you, you'd be crushed.

    • @18782.
      @18782. 8 років тому

      +TriflinThomas correct

    • @quinnthefox3846
      @quinnthefox3846 8 років тому +1

      +Primalxbeast Actually 60 feet is pretty deep. You still need to pop your ears on the way down, otherwise you can feel the pressure on your temple.

    • @Primalxbeast
      @Primalxbeast 8 років тому

      Jessica Clark That's because there's air in your ears and you need to equalize the pressure. You can also feel pressure changes in your ears on a plane or sometimes even closing a car window. I said solid objects weren't strongly affected, anything with hollow spaces does need those spaces filled with air at the same pressure as the surrounding water to counteract the pressure. Deep sea creatures don't have low pressure air pockets in their bodies. 50-60 feet is a pretty typical dive, you don't even need to decompress if you only stay as long as a standard sized tank of air will last.
