No bus from the past and no bus in the future can beat the Leyland Lynx. These were the most caring queen's and had such an enthusiastic look.

No such fuss needed when they scrapped these. Just use a claw crane, smash all the windows and rip off the body panels. All ready for shredding!

This is essential viewing for anyone who owns a preserved Leyland Lynx, although getting the materials required would be a bit of a mission.

PSV glass would be a better option as they have all the gear necessary for a window replacement.

There was a demonstrator in 1984 in Australia with the sides done by JW Bolton's of Perth WA with conventional windows. It's now part of the Sydney Bus Museum collection.

That video alone would have prevented me from purchasing any, aside from all the other problems that came with the Lynx.

strange that, seeing the body framework; all the ones Ive seen in scrapyards it's rotted away. This video is the best advert for gasket glazing. Goodness knows what Leyland were thinking of, the design of the Lynx showed they'd lost the plot by this time anyway.

Compare this to ten minutes tops to replace rubber gasket glazing on a National- WMPTE’s Lynxes were off the road for two days at a time if they had a single broken window:-(((
Leyland had really lost the plot by this time....

What's the music at the beginning? I've tried finding it after hearing it on the 1997 Midland Mainline corporate video on UA-cam, to no avail.

All that just to replace a window.

not JUST to replace a window, fuckwit - it's ANY part of the bodywork!

Yes, but what if you forget to put the special anti-rattle rubber strip back on?

The peeling of the body panel like its a piece of glued paper and the time taken to replace a window are simply testament to how terrible the design was on this bus. Clearly these buses were not designed for hardcore urban operating environments like Glasgow where numerous buses suffer stone throwers and glass etchers!

same old faces, eh? Hi Keith! Check out the vid for the Cummins (or is it the ZF box) , pmsl at the comment from the guy asking about the backing music...

I don't recall Psv glass doing any of that with the three windows I have had replaced on a lynx over the years. Although I think if you took the interior panels off my lynx the steel would just crumble into dust.

      And rust.

Why didn't the worker use a heat gun to remove the panel? heat softens adhesive.

But it can also damage the windows, the paint and different plastic materials around. Cutter is much more precise

Leyland failed because it didn’t built buses or anything to last. Shame really
