      Go there to see media bias through the lense of media bias. Ground news is in itself biased, and the way it categorises news outlets as having only one form of bias (left/right), rather than listing what bias they have on specific subjects (along with biases along the vertical axis of the political compass of authoritarian/libertarian, as well as economic biases such as capitalist/anti-capitalist, pro-worker/pro-business etc) makes the tool unreliable and ultimately pointless, and just a way to profit from and perpetuate many people's simplistic and sectarian view of politics and beliefs.
      In my opinion it is ruining your videos where you have to continuously refer back to it for the sake of a sponsorship, while continually inaccurately referring to it as a way to help sort biases when it is not.

      Really want to screw with a Flood proponent? The amount of water necessary for the Biblical flood, is roughly equivalent mass to Pluto. It's something like 6.5 billion cubic meters of water. It would be a planetary impact event, much larger than the asteroid that caused the dinosaur extinction.
      Divide the mass of water over several months, you still have enough downward force to heat the surface temperature beyond the point where water molecules split into elemental hydrogen and oxygen, and then auto-ignite, and recombine into water vapor, and then immediately split again, etc.
      The global flood, is a hydrogen-oxygen fissioning event, across the entire surface of the planet, for more than a month. That's like dropping hydrogen bombs on every inch of surface, for a month.
      The Biblical Flood, would glass the surface of the planet.
      Even if the water didn't burn, it's still way more force than water jet saws, and those things can cut through steel plates. Was the arc made out of adamantium? Vibranium might work too.
      According to the calculations I found, the Flood would increase the surface temperature of Earth to somewhere around 3000C

Rather they worship the stories of an ancient anthology as "Truth(tm)", picking and choosing those beLIEfs that makes them stand out as "religious".

    Ancient technology is no surprise. To build a ship the size of Ken Ham's ark would take some heavy equipment, namely dinosaurs. They were used as cranes. After working all day, Noah would drive home in his car with stone wheels, although it was foot power that propelled it. His pet dinosaur would greet him at the door, and they would go for a walk together. After he put the sabre tooth cat outside for the night, the cat would jump through the window and put Noah out for the night. Otzi drowned in the flood. Some people say he was shot with an arrow, but that's a matter of faith, not science. There's no such thing as DNA. It's a hoax. David and Jonathan were gay. So what.

    It's true that every piece of media has an underlying message (otherwise known as Theme) but not every story is trying to convince you. Sometimes a story is just asking questions with no clear answers. This is a good example of creationists starting with a something true and then hijacking it to say something batshit crazy. Often the best stories are pushing the boundaries of our philosophical understanding by creating situations that reframe the more difficult issues and offer new perspectives. This kind of thinking, that all stories are selling an agenda, is how we ended up with all these book bans.

    • @ArnisKaye
      @ArnisKaye 7 місяців тому

      So true. They're also projecting. Because everything they do has an agenda to evangelize, they can't fathom that other people can do things (like theme & messaging) with different motives that have nothing to do with indoctrination. Even a message that wants to convince you of something isn't trying to brainwash you. It's just presenting an argument/making a case. But by distorting facts, omitting facts, and creating "facts" (partially by relying on myth), aig is not just trying to convince people, they're trying to indoctrinate people into their message that their particular brand of religion is 100% true. They're so blinded by how they interact with the world that they can't see how the world actually works.

    • @kylezo
      @kylezo 5 місяців тому

      I totally disagree. all stories have a bias, it's inherent to communication. some are biased towards the truth, and some are biased towards a specific agenda. any source that calls themselves unbiased is using that to generate unearned trust. news sources that tell you up front what their bias is tend to be much more trustworthy. propaganda is not evil in and of itself. carl sagan was a brilliant science communicator and he got there by creating a ton of propaganda to engage average people with scientific ideas. that's bias, that's propaganda, and it's also good.

Maybe it has happened and I have just not heard of it, but have creationists ever claimed to find evidence of any modern animal besides humans living alongside dinosaurs? Dinosaur and wolf tracks? Dinosaur and deer tracks? Or are they just relying on our human tendency to seek out signs of other humans even where there aren't any?

      I agree. However it is a reason for humility on the side of science and scientists. That is unfortunately a rare thing. Instead it seems to allow them to act as sure and arrogant as possible in any-given "now" - always free to wipe away any wrong conclusions, mistakes - even to the point of tragedy and atrocity, with nothing more than a shrug.
      That is actually NOT an expectation on AiG - as they OPENLY state that their goal is to interpret the available evidence through a literal Biblical view and see if there is a way to get it to fit, when doing so.
      I don't really think the Bible is a science book... even though it touches on it indirectly from time to time in some pretty marvelous ways (ocean currents discovered via a mention of "paths of the sea" in Psalms). But - viewing science through a different story doesn't bother me.
      From the posters on this video alone, you'd think science was only made up of snarky, arrogant, brainwashed, mocking, bullies and children. Which I know is not the case. But it certainly doesn't present an unbiased, thoughtful community of unbiased thinkers. At all.

Trying to establish "kinds" a creationist discovered we are too closely related to apes to place them in a separate clade. Science has to stand against bias of all other science. Hilarious how they think we're somehow "confused" by the latest findings.

    Usually sponsors are simply mentioned in most videos I watch, but seeing Paul actually use the product is working well for me if I'm honest. Plus, mentioning how the bias scale is developed, how to see the methodology for yourself, and that third parties are involved gives me decent confidence that the product is generally reliable. Obviously we should all carry a grain of salt for everything, but I trust that Paul has done his due diligence since he's shown us previously that he does. Interesting ad read Paul!
    On topic, YECs still have nothing. Shocking. When are we, as a species, going to stop wasting money and resources on this stupid bullshit and get to solving the very real human problems we have before us? Soon I hope.

      My thoughts exactly. I do have some small questions regarding this sponsor but, currently, I'm more than happy to lean towards the idea that Ground News seem to be sourcing, analysing and presenting the data in a level, well reasoned, manner. So much so that Paul appears to be genuinely using the tool in ways it's intended and that's a big tick in my book.
      Cheers 🍺

    Scientists are confused that Oetzi had fire lighting kit, an axe and skin boots… yeah, of course they are 😂 I learned about him as part of my degree in the 90s, absolutely nobody is surprised by that at all. It would be more surprising if he didn’t have those things. These guys are literally just making stuff up, it’s embarrassing.

    The Otzi case is a particular problem.
    I remember when they dug the body. I never understood the very pale first artistic depictions. We had a chat with a paleontologist. It never made sense, the skin was abnormaly tanned even after the "ice burn".
    It was a hammered bronze axe, btw, Paul. The head scratching element is actually the stone knife.
    Édit : omg sorry hammered COPPER, NOT BRONZE ! Thank you !

      Oh I understand the initial artistic depictions - never underestimate the power of racism in Western European, US, and Canadian societies.

    • @celiand2618
      @celiand2618 7 місяців тому +1

      @@SadisticSenpai61 I THINK it was motivated by a low correlation between some suspected presence of milky products and the predominance of the correspondant mutation in very pale ethnicities but it is not as caricaturally a 1 to 1 than the first rendition supposed. And there were already questions because of the skin left that did not match. I know the frost has been mentionned but the description was more prudent than the picture.
      And what I REALLY don't get is there were no such problems with Cheddar Man or that 8000 old english girl.
      I dugged and I found out. The milk product traces could not have been from his own meals ! They found out in 2012 that Otzi did NOT have the lactose tolerance mutation.
      OK it was not straight up racism, it was misinformation and lack of datas. Still not good but not to the point of dumb.

    • @celiand2618
      @celiand2618 7 місяців тому +1

      Still no clue why there were different technological levels in Otzi equipment though. The arrow heads were very paleolithic, so was his knife (on top of being broken) and then his axe is hammered polished copper. They suspect he was an important personn due to that axe... And because he was murdered. The arrows, we guessed. He died while crafting them, they are unfinished. But why the knife ?
