Not just when travelling but where i live is not vegan friendly either. yes more options because i can make stuff at my place but very limited in terms of buying anything at the store and forget about getting food out. Glad to hear that you made it through and had such a good and productive tiem.
The struggle is VERY real!!! I can’t tell you how many meals I have cobbled together to make a dinner or lunch…but…the absolute worst is breakfast!!! I went on a cruise, and ate avocado toast EVERY morning!!! And then had to deal with the comments about why I wasn’t eating the amazing food the cruise line provided for breakfasts. Dinner had like two vegan options, and they weren’t all that exciting…especially since they never changed! Let me put it this way…my husband gained weight on that cruise, and I lost weight!!!😂
I just got back from the Pocono Mountains to visit my family, and a pizza place advertised having vegan pizza! I was so excited, and they actually had legitimately vegan pies! That is until we went to order….the disclaimer “we cannot confirm that cross contamination will not occur on our pizzas, we use the same space as the non-vegan pizza 🍕 🙄 I was so excited, until that disclaimer (no thank you!)
I don't know why this annoyed me as much as it did. There are so many vegan options in Scottsdale.. The JW marriot is what 5 miles west from Francine? If you actually went west of the JW marriot you could have went to The Coronado, Verdura, Flavors, Loving Hut, Green.. all about 5-10 miles from the JW marriot. They are all GREAT vegan restaurants. So I'm not quite sure what your restrictions were for travel, cost, time, etc so I can not 100% say that these are easy fixes but they are options. There are always issues being Vegan traveling but to say there are no options especially in Scottsdale AZ is not true.
Ah that’s so great to know! I’m saving these suggestions for next time. I was sure there were vegan options in the area - I mean, it’s a big area, how could it not? - but they just weren’t accessible to me. The conference I attended took all weekend and there was very little time to get out of the little bubble. The one time I did get out was dining with nonvegans so that’s why we went to a non vegan spot. So when I say there are no vegan options I meant there are no options in the spots I was restricted to. Once I came back someone asked me why I didn’t Uber eats to the hotel and I honestly had the biggest facepalm moment for not having thought of that! I blame it on being tired and not thinking straight when hungry 🤣
