I think the world will enter the apocalypse (powers that be/elite induced) within the next 10-20 years. If they do not force the formation of a world government (New World Order) then humanity is doomed to kill itself through carelessness/being selfish. Water alone from the oceans will be undrinkable within 20-50 years due to microplastic pollution, and this is just a tiny example of catastrophic events that will plague the world. One of the reasons the earth is warming up is due to the aerosols (funnily known as chemtrails) which are tiny particles of all kinds of metals (hence it is sprayed in X patterns) to trap the heat on earth, leading to an accelerated climate disaster, which is one of the main cruxes upon which the New World Order will be formed. Just look up some speeches, plenty of US presidents, bankers, even Gorbachev speaking about "the necessity to form a New World Order" - aka an authoritarian world government that will control every aspect of future society. The technology is (almost) ready for it.

I'll never forget on New Years Eve of 2000. I was 10 and my parents were hosting a pretty wild party leaving us kids to our own devices. I'm not sure where I had heard it from, but somehow I knew about the supposed impending disaster that was to come. I had been trying not to think about it, but as it got closer to midnight I started to become more and more distressed. I can remember looking around at everybody laughing and having a good time, kids running and playing and I just sat on the couch feeling so melancholy and wondering how they could be so carefree. Eventually I went to my parents bedroom and started crying. My friend found me and ran and told my Mom I was crying. I didn't feel any better until my Mom explained that there were different time zones and other country's had already had their Y2K and nothing happened, lol.

Actually, the end of Mayan's calendar didn't probably meant the end of the world or anything except for end of calendar itself. They just didn't had enough space, and would have been drawn a new calendar if they would survive and keep their culture. We still have paper calendars, which usually end on 31 December, every year, and that is just end of the calendar, not the world. Taking into account that largest unit of time in Mayan calendar was around 394 years, no wonder they had a calendar for some centuries ahead.

I was paralyzed in a car accident 25 yrs ago, lost my best friend instantly, all feeling below the waist,I thought " This is the end of my world,I'm only 29, I haven't really lived!" But what I did find is we as humans can truly adapt to any scenario,be it lack of control of our lower extremities( a mere drop in the bucket of bad things that could happen to us ,I know) to the population controlling super viruses that have recently appeared. It's not that bad being paralyzed- I often joke, " nobody asks me to help them move ,and the only thing worse than moving yourself, is helping someone else!" Obviously in poor taste, but it's the little things in life that can often help soften the blows that life, or someone's death that we know, are thrown to us. Keep up the great videos, these are interesting enough to keep me from ever considering the alternatives in my life.Im glad to be here, this earth is constantly changing, and Im finding at 50 yrs.old, luckily, change is here to stay....

Hey, Thoughty2. First and foremost, just wanted to say that I've loved all of your content that I've seen so far. :)
On the Herbert W. Armstrong/WWCG front, I also wanted to add that it was soooo refreshing to see him eviscerated like that. :D I was adopted into that cult at 2 weeks of age and it (along with my sheep-like adoptive parents) really tried their best to ruin my life. It was awful, and the ignorance/hypocrisy was utterly mind blowing.
Finally, just wanted to point out that while your screenshots during the Y2K segment were of Linux and/or UNIX operating systems (at least in part), that particular set of operating systems did not suffer from the Y2K bug. They do, however, have a similar limited foresight in date schemes coming up in the future here that will introduce significant difficulties. The Y2K bug was mainstream primarily due to the preponderance of Microsoft's DOS & Windows environments. :)
    Keep up the awesome work!

The shift in vibrations from a 3rd density illusion planet to a 4th density one occurred right on schedule, the harvest has begun, and as we pass away and are reincarnated, those of us who have "graduated" by successfully choosing the correct evolutionary path of service to others will shed these heavy chemical bodies made of matter and get our new light bodies made of energy and move on to the 4th density Earth and those of us who have chosen unwisely by choosing the path of service to self will be stuck here in this 3rd density illusion Earth for another complete cycle of incarnations and life lessons until the next harvest and another chance to choose correctly and graduate to the 4th density.

Before God there was no thing, and after God there is no thing, it is the unconscious that conceives and creates things, without that there is no thing. If you create a program designed to tell the time, and simply add 1 year to the count every 365 days, well, that's exactly what your program will do!! It's so based in pure logic that it's almost child-like! I feel like if you teach a child the basics of counting up to 100, but don't give them the rules of clocks/calendars, and you ask them what year comes after "1999" it seems only natural that they would spit out "19,100" hahah

Well, I was one of the many that worked on the Y2K problem
Be aware the problem was mainly in Mainframe computers and not PC's
Mainframes (since 50's) are much older than PC's (since 80's)
We found enough problems and either scrapped the programs or repaired them.
    -
We were not afraid that the world would end.
We were afraid that older programs would crash.
At that time it was still very normal to use a 2-digit year code.
I know many programs that used a 2-digit year code.
And even 99.99% of the crashes would most likely not be a real problem
But what if the one program that was a problem happens to be your Cooling control in your Nuclear power plant?
That might not be a nice thing.
Do not forget that at the same moment ALL these same programs will crash simultaneously.
No doubt the rest of the safety software of the Nuclear power plant will safely shutdown the plant.
Yeah, *all* of them, at the same time and all over the country!
    -
For us the most dangerous thing was actually the fact that nobody knew how many programs would be affected and what would happen.
Now, who wants to take the responsibility and say "Nah, if something goes wrong you can sue me"?
    -
    So we repaired them all
It is quite funny that our obvious success is now treated as if Y2K was nothing at all.
It was nothing at all because we made sure it would not be anything!

One of the difficulties was that much of the main frame business software had been written in the dead programming language Cobol. And a lot of programmers (now called coders) had to get up to speed on Cobol quickly and temporally. Not a way to further your career.
My Mother was going to fly to Florida to visit my brother on December 31 1999 and would be on the plane at midnight. I made a joke about Y2K on Christmas, somehow it was the first time that my Father had heard of it. He insisted that she go by Amtrak instead. She did; they stopped the train at midnight as a precaution. Amtrak from Massachusetts to Florida! My Mother swore she would never step onto another train.

The Mayan calendar is a bunch of cycles. Dec 21st, 2012 was when all the cycles ended at the same time and began again. No end, just a constant cycle.

You stayed at one company for two decades? That makes you an unusual programmer for those days, unless you worked for a manufacturer such as IBM. I was involved in converting tape files and the programs that would read and write them to squeeze the extra byte (if packed decimal) or two (if character format) inside every date field; and then scheduling the conversion process to make the cutover to new files and programs seamless. All of that code was written by people before me (while I was leaving code at other companies for my successors to fix).
One project I worked on early in my career in the seventies was, however, designed to account for four digit years from scratch; a couple of hundred people worked on that one.

People have an underlying, fetishized desire and fascination with the "end of the world". We see it with our obsession with zombie movies and games, movies about pandemics, and the countless monster and alien invasion movies. While feigning fear, we secretly want to see an apocalypse happen due to dissatisfaction with our mundane reality, so that we can be one of survivors and have some real excitement. For example, with COVID, we saw that we're actually nowhere near prepared or mature enough to deal with a *real*, potential world ender. We saw panic-buyers cosplaying as survivalists when buying enough toilet paper for a lifetime; but oddly enough no bottled water, water purifiers, canned goods, portable generators, or first aid kits. Further, when it turned out that staying home was the best measure (as opposed to any Road Warrior scenario), these same tough guys whined about it being too hard. If COVID were half as deadly as some feared, we'd have a couple billion dead and no alien species watching us would feel pity.

There were a lot of weird things they did like wearing chicken feet as a necklace, keeping decaying dead people on the street and used perfume to make it all better, thinking that if they don't smell the decay, it won't affect their health. They also had worse imune systems, once again, due to not knowing what to eat the way we know what is healthy for us. So we went a long way and that is why the covid is not as bad.

So after watching this video I got an idea for a future video: 'Why do people join cults?' It is quite baffling how people think and then they join cults and sects (what's the difference between a cult and a sect really?), and to me it is just crazy. I guess it is part of that mentality humans have about belonging somewhere.
Also, who is the scummiest? The radio show host who talks about the end of the world while telling listeners to send in money. Or the radio station that lets him/her use their station for this? Honestly I'm a bit split between these two, then again the talk show host could probably do that from his own house or something.

I was born (in 1987, after all five predictions had already failed) as the third generation of a family who lived and breathed H. W. Armstrong’s teachings. It’s easy to laugh at the insanity of believing these prophecies, but I get it. For people who are terrified of death and the future, banking on the possibility of a sure thing gives some semblance of control. Great video, thanks!

You forgot to add Nicolaas van Rensburg. Born in 1864, died in 1926. He didn't predict the end of days per se, but saw coming a third and final world war. As well as a great deal of happenigs from the days of De La Rey to our topsy turvy days.

My advice to anyone during Y2K was simple, do you think that Chase bank is going to forget about your mortgage because of a computer date issue? Yeah, not. The fact that folks were believing their finances would halt and so on were not too bright.
