This is honestly one of the best cooking channels out there, and this is coming from someone who watches a lot of cooking channels! Love the personality man.
I would have to agree with you on this being one of the best cooking channels. I grew up watching Julia Child, the French Chef on tv. I like watching Sonny just as much. And of course Gordon Ramsey and Chef Jean-Pierre. You’re still the best of the lot, Sonny!
Yeah, he's probably my fave right now. Honestly, his dishes look better than Gordon Ramsey's. Gordon adds way too many herbs and it just gets ridiculous at times.
I made this yesterday and lord it was absolutely amazing! I couldn’t find garlic scapes for the pesto from any of my local supermarket, so I substituted it with a bunch of chives, and the pesto came out awesome. But by far, my favorite was that white wine sauce! It paired so nicely with the scallops. The cauliflower purée, also amazing. Honestly everything was amazing and just paired so nicely with each other. And the final product, when done properly, does look extremely professional!
I found you randomly on UA-cam about a week ago and I have to say I’m so glad I did. Lol I love your energy and your sense of humor. I have watched so many of your videos already. In love with your food recipes. Thank you for brighten my day! 😉☺️🙌🏽
I’d love to see a series where you taste and rate restaurants. Then, when it’s awesome, you beat the sh*t out of the their walk in cooler, or the chef, or wait staff, or whoever happens to be nearby. “You know I love you and I’m out!” Cut scene to restaurant staff in the hospital
Man, I really prefer this Sonny. Reminds me of pre-tiktok Sonny. Just cooking, not gimmicky, (almost) no yelling, (almost) no beating up appliances. I know people like that stuff, and it's often funny. But in my opinion, it's so much better when your videos focus on the cooking instead. Great stuff! Keep it up!
Wow please don’t stop making content. Your channel is just packed with great ideas and amazing food. Quickly became my favorite food channel 🤙. Keep the dishes coming chef!
Also so glad that Sergeant Gilbert lives!!! Funny but I actually shed a tear over that video when we lost Sergeant Gilbert just like I shed a tear in the movie Castaway when Wilson floated away
@@thatdudecancook I know so many are so glad how you've turned Sergeant Gilbert into the most popular character along with the refrigerator (poor frigy)... but seriously you're great.. your humor is hysterical.. your food your style of filming excellent... keep up the amazing work you are educating and putting so many smiles on so many hearts..blessings!!
Hey Mr. CanCook I’ve been watching your vids for about a year now and you’ve really helped me bring out a new joy in myself I never knew I had, and my family loves it as well too. Just wanna say thank you for that.
@@thatdudecancook someone thinking any person who’s worked a line doesn’t have back / knee / ankle pain 😂😂😂 bro we all hurtin, that’s why most of us become R&D chefs, or get out and get on UA-cam 😭 I got tendonitis in both my ankles and *had* to get out. Much as I miss the circus, I don’t miss the clowns hahaha. love your videos as always my guy
Seriously dude?!? This is my favorite cooking channel to watch! I have told so many people About you. You are freaking funny as well as inspirational and informative! Good on you brother. I'm hooked and haven't stopped watching.
Why you have not gotten a Food Network Show is beyond me. I always learn something new, find a new dish and get a good laugh at the same time. You are the entire package !! ❤️❤️
Wow dude this video was amazing the precious time u take making everything from scratch making sure it tastes perfect is just so heartwarming I loved every minute of it and I'm definitely telling my mom about Bright Cellars 😊❤️🔥
I watch cooking shows on UA-cam daily for the last 4 years. @ThatDudeCanCook might be the best cook I've seen on this platform hands down. Great job man, keep the great dishes coming!
I work at a winery and we have a huge garden. I use scapes all the time. The way that you saved the milk reminds me of how we save the poaching liquid from our cranberries to make ice cream toppings
Amazing. Quite possibly one of your most visually stunning dishes, mon frere. Thank you. Love the quick, 10-ish minute vids you are putting out. Entertaining, funny, and not verbose. Love your editing. Keep it coming, brother
I just made my very first batch of rosemary salt for Fourth of July barbecue and I am super psyched to try it thank you so much for this life-changing recipe
Dry scallops are typically soaked overnight. Try to find a scallop that was frozen at sea or a chemical free scallop. When a scallop is soaked and then cooked the protiens and flavor is flushed out. Scallops are soaked to give them a longer shelf life and to make more money. Looks delicious
I love you!! You are the best cook I have ever seen on UA-cam, so fun to watch and not boring like a lot of them but still super informative. I’m so happy I found you somehow. Any chance you have a video for oven made crispy wings?
Im 58. Havnt worked in a restaurant since i was a teenager. I get that question all the time. I just love delicious food. I cant afford to go out and eat the kind of food i like so i learned to make it myself.
Great job!! Thank you for showing me how to cook some scallops in a great way!! When I was stationed in Japan I met a Japanese woman who's mom taught the wives of doctors how to cook traditional Japanese meals. She made scallops in an anchovy sauce and served it with cauliflower. I cannot replicate it but it was awesome. Tomiko Morita is her name.
U can always tell a great experienced chef by their handling tactics such as going into a hot pan to pull out scallops. My daughter's always ask how am i not worried about the heat or oil splats lol
I just realized that the song he hums at the end when he's showing off the dish is "Greensleeves," a piece that I play as a warm-up in middle school band.
Dude! Great job. Scallops one of my favorites also. In my youth I had the good fortune to live and work in the wilds of southeast Alaska and scuba dived for scallops and lots of other seafood.
That dude is better than my favorites on food network. And the ten minute versions are so much better. This dude needs to make two vids per day. I share him with everyone
Jesus. This guy is lights out badass. I sure wish I'd have had this kind of information at the touch of a screen before I became a Chef. He's so brilliant and a great communicater
You licked the plate! You really licked the plate! You’re awesome, man! Someday I’ll try these scallops… always been afraid to cook scallops (and veal). Thank you for posting your culinary experiences!
Dude, I just learned about your channel and I'm binging out of control. Has anyone ever told you that you sound like Kepi Ghoulie? That's a big compliment in my world. You and Chef John could take over the world.
If you do a quick ~2 second blanch of the basil leaves then dunk them in an ice water bath before using them to make the pesto, the pesto will stay bright green.
Fantastic dish! (I love scallops.) Lots of great technique and tips here. And I feel you on that impulse to lick the plate - wish I could get away with that.
You’re a legend
Big fan of yours bro!
Both of you 👑
As are you @The Golden Balance!!! ❤️ Kristy in Missouri 😃🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I love it too, but my family keeps walking in while he's beating up the refrigerator, and it's kind of hard to explain to them why.
You never disappoint

I didn't think I could love this chef any more than I do. Then I watch him harvest garlic scapes in his garden.

I’m so jealous of that garden. So beautiful.
The best scallops I ever had were at a place in Dana Point, CA. Grilled over fettuccini and topped with a green chili sauce. Delicious.

Still waiting til his fridge breaks.
Omg, that knife! Absolutely beautiful. Cant wait to try this recipe. And agree scallops are fine straight from the fridge.
Scallops are the only seafood I like, and I really appreciate the detailed information. And I have some in the freezer!

Don’t worry. The fridge is cool with it.
I pray that he wont get electrocuted by the fridge
That fridge will get sick of it one day and fight back. 😟

Don’t have garlic scapes local, so I opted out of the pesto and purée. Instead, I put pasta in the sauce then added the dill. Was great!
