Gullible… this woman has not addressed the Bretton Woods System & it’s subjugation of the Continent as a place of resource extraction. She is a tool of the West to keep Africa blind to its’ masters - WB, IMF, WTI, etc.

I’m sure she looks down on blk people. She has a condescending attitude. They were told they had privilege, now they won’t stop talking about it. She isn’t superior to anyone simply because of race.

She reminds me of a person who lives in between the fantasy Disney World and the insane world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Her eyes, for sure.

Magatte Wade is someone who sees reality fairly clearly. I've learned not to blame anyone else for my laziness or lack of confidence or for situations that I find myself in, which are caused by my own decisions. It's all a learning process and builds character. Magatte, you are very fortunate to have a father who taught you a lot of valuable lessons as you grew up!

That whole 'white women for Kamala' is too cringe for words. They really do see us as their little pet projects to help, and it's SO condescending and demeaning. Magatte's reaction was mine too.

She right. I wasn't raised to see myself as a victim, and have my parents to thank for instilling in us values and ethics that have ensured that we avoided the traps of blaming others for our own shortcomings. Treat others as you yourself would wish to be treated was instilled in us, and it has served us well.

What a novel idea to think of a solution for your problems. Too few people do that today. They just wait for government to tell them and regulate them. What happened to individual thought? Has thinking out of the box been banned? Can nobody have a vision anymore? Just some thoughts.

Stop being simple minded. The right people are still there and even those who left are willing to go back home to create businesses, innovations and transfer of knowledge they've gotten from the West, but like she said, the political and social society do not create the environment for entrepreneurs to thrive.

I don’t think this woman understand what’s going on in Africa. I am Congolese and I understand that the only reason Congo is poor is because of the war that has been caused by the west so that they can steal our minerals and wealth. There is proof for this.
I am an entrepreneur and I know many entrepreneurs who have successful businesses in Africa but can’t start a business here.
I have seen corruption taking my country backwards. Corruption in Kenya is another example why Gen Z decided to demonstrate.

There have been international trades for centuries from all over the world! Clean up the corruption in your country.
And yet you say you’re an entrepreneur? And successful? How so?
Imagine the very idea of finding a solution to a problem you’re having somehow is foreign to you!

@MireilleEspoir the guest speaker's not wrong and we're certainly not absolving ourselves of any blame, but the facts on the ground speak to a dilemma that is much more intractable than the one she posits. I do think that Ibrahim Traore and his allies have the right idea though.

    • @MireilleEspoir

@@mgu1N1n1 did you read my comment properly? She can’t say that the problem in Africa has nothing to do with colonialism, or wears involvement or corruption. Cos those are only reasons why many countries in Africa are poor.
