Kaleidoscope and Versions were my favorite apps for a long time. But then the pricing unfortunately made me move to a more simple apps. Maybe it’s time to review my approach. It’s not like it’s expensive and me as a developer can’t afford it, but you always compare to other software, and when the Photoshop bundle costs less then diffs app you start asking why? Also, around $100 for the VCS app is also quite questionable
Same for me. I purchased Kaleidoscope 2, then paid for the upgrade to version 3. And then they changed to a subscription model, which was the point where I jumped off.
though this should be included in xcode. Unlike InteliiJ IDE you are not require to install separate merge tool or even git client, the IDE already has it and it is great. Though IntelliJ iDE did not support iOS development (AppCode will be decommissioned soon)
XCode already has code Diff tools, at least in their Git integration. Is it the best? No, but I already prefer just using a single app like GitKraken though
Everytime I see an app, no matter how great it is, if it's subscription based then immediately I'm out. With a few exceptions of course like cloud storage, security etc.
Download at kaleidoscope.app/ and use promo code "seanallen" to get 20% off your purchase.
the only thing other apps can't do for free is "kspo" command but it doesn't worth 7$/month even with 20% discount

I, too, stopped using this app due to its subscription model, and I've switched to Fork and Beyond Compare.

to be fair no developer can build and maintain apps like this on a 1 time cost basis. it just doesn't add up.
@@smilebot484 true. Should be localized tho. From where I am, this is too expensive.
