  • Our featured disc is the Westside Discs Warship in the Tournament Burst Plastic. The Warship is a stable mid-range that has a lot of glide and is great long tunnel shots.
    Flight Numbers:
    Speed: 5 Glide: 6 Turn: 0 Fade: 1
Andrew Greenslade (Big Arm) and Brian Keegan (Average Arm) are our hosts for a look into how this disc flies.
Special thanks to Westside Discs for sending us the Warship disc that we used for this review!

Nice review! The best midrange there is in my opinion! I have ten in different plastics. I have bought a few of them new and the rest used but in very good condition.
I'd say the hybrid plastic is the most overstable, then the vip-x chameleon. Vip, vip moonshine, tournament and tournament R in my experience are pretty much the same stability when not beat in. There might be difference in how fast they beat in though. Then there is the bt origio plastic I used in winter time for better grip. Stability wise starts pretty much the same or maybe a little less stable but beats in very fast. The profile in origio plastic is a lot flatter as usual and maybe because of that it is not as glidey as the premium ones.
I usually bag the hybrid and my most beat in vip and sometimes the vip-x in the midle. The rest are for field work for which this disc is also awesome! I can easily buy the distances in this video because I myself have thrown Warship a little over 100 meters in tailwind and I have a novice old man armspeed. Two years in the game at 44 years of age.
Keep up the good work! I have enjoyed a lot of your videos! Greetings from Finland!

Thanks for the detailed comment Mark! This may be the most helpful comment we've ever had on a video! We need to do a plastic review of it for sure! Have a good one!

Possibly the most underrated disc in the sport.

After throwing it, I have to agree. I know it has a cult following and it's easy to see why.

Just started getting in to westside discs lately and this is a really fun disc. I don't have a beast arm out here but I was ripping it in to a headwind about 325 feet this morning. Great freaking glider.

I'd love to see a comparison between the Warship and TSA's Pathfinder. Comparative drone footage of which has a more gradual vs more last minute fade, which one has more glide, on a calm day, and how they react to moderate wind on a different day. That would be an awesome comparison.

I bag two of them. One in regular VIP and another in Chameleon VIP-X for those windy touch upshots. I haven't run into anyone else that bags them but once I let people throw mine they end up buying one themselves.

Great disc, I have one in VIP I used to bag. It just goes, probably further than most mids I've seen. Fun fact it used to be numbered 6/5/0/1 so almost a leopard. I haven't tried it in tournament, I would probably enjoy that as that is my favorite trilogy plastic.

I've got an old 6/5/0/1 in tournament plastic and it's the most reliable disc I've got. It just glides forever and straight aswell. It's getting beaten in though and it holds those small anhyzer shots aswell.

I walked these off because my measuring wheel was broken. But i double checked them on run mapping websites. The cones aren’t exact. Just meant to provide a general idea of distance. The deep cones are roughly 380-400ft. Maybe 375ft at worst. We also had a solid 25ish mph tailwind with a very glidey mid. Considering I can throw my Rocs about 330 in calm conditions, and was throwing drivers into the same spot in other reviews... I don’t think we’re way off here.

Great video. I'm developing a newfound respect for midrange drivers because of discs like this. On the aside, what microphone and noise-cancelling wind screen are you using? I need something better than my camcorder built in shotgun mic.

Who throws mids for distance? I thought the idea behind mids was to be able to hit shorter lines but still be able to put a full rip on it.

    • @Discgolfexaminer

There may be a time where you want the distance without putting a ton of power on the throw.

You'll have to ask an expert (Which I am not). I personally have found that putting less power on a disc increases my accuracy.
