I was really depressed for quite a few years. Spent countless hours just walking around aimlessy, mostly at night because I was really anxious of being around people at the time, just thinking about offing myself. This song with the visuals just perfectly captures that vibe to me. To anyone currently in that mind frame, know that life can get better. I improved after I made a few lifestyle changes. Ren telling us his story, pricking the bubble of suicide, you reacting and sharing how you were bought through a life lesson to a place of empathy to then share it with us. Who knows who you have touched today and set them off on their journey.

While this song has an uplifting ❤ first half and a downing, devastating second; it has a successor, "For Joe" that takes the lyrics of this song and adds the lyrics of an earlier Song, "Freckled Angels" in a live recital with the piano. And it is really uplifting. ❤ I think it could be the right thing for you to do next.
Even though Ren makes no claims to any religion. He comes from a Christian spiritual background & it shines through all his work. I think part of his appeal is that his foundation is core values that so many can relate too. He is not a Christian artist but so much of what he says enhances faith that it does not matter. He kind of got the job despite not applying for it.

Ive heard this song at least 20 maybe 30 times and i cry everytime. I cant help it. Maybe its because ive lost so many friends and family. Maybe its because one of my long time friends hung himself and his mother found but i told everyone to watch him cuz i knew he was hurting and i was 600 miles away. Maybe i just feel so much for Ren. Either way i cry every time

He covers human experience throughout the wide variety of his creative output and all of it is authentic. His early work, before he became critically ill, is still deep and meaningful; expressing his love of music and life. It then turns into some of the most heartfelt cry for a way out of the darkness, then feeling hope and enthusiasm. There are several interviews that are extremely worthwhile and honest. Also look into his recent post about achieving 1 million subscribers. Not every song may be your favorite but every single one has something to say, even if it's primarily made in homage to his musical influences.
